Spaceketeers is the retelling of the monkey king except in space. Quote

Solscud007 Posted October 14, 2004 Posted October 14, 2004 GAO GAI GAAAAAARRRRRR!!!!!! FINAL FUSSSSIOOOONNNNN!!!! that and Choryujin (the red and blue trucks from Gaogaigar) Quote
VF-19 Posted October 14, 2004 Posted October 14, 2004 Favorite combiners (that I own), in order of preference. 1) JRX/Rail Racer 2) Runination/Bruticus (RiD version) 3) Devastator 4) Defensor 5) Raiden (I think that's his name)... Sadly, the last three are knockoffs, as I can't afford getting an original from e-bay. Since Predaking's coming out, there's a good chance that the other combinters are going to come out too eventually. But that'll all change when I get my hands on Predaking in December. Quote
Blaine23 Posted October 14, 2004 Posted October 14, 2004 Hmmm... I got to give the best to Predaking, as it was just a gigantic f'ing toy. And it looks tough as hell to boot. Devastator... while I like the 6 robot format, was a weird looking robot. All of the other transformer ones I can think of were all pretty much interchangeable - Superion, Menasor, Computron, Defensor... not much exciting there. And to be truthful, I don't really know enough of the old school anime ones to vouch for any of them. Quote
Agent ONE Posted October 14, 2004 Posted October 14, 2004 They are all lame. I think the idea of robots comming together to form one big robot is stupid and impractical beyond belief. Quote
Barpharanges Posted October 14, 2004 Posted October 14, 2004 One of my favorites is Puzzler From the Gobots (don't know the original name). One of the first combiners that did not need extra parts to form the big guy. No accessories to lose! The build team from Car Robots (RID Transformers Landfill) is my current favorite, especially when you buy two of each robot. Then you can pair up matching legs or equip the big guy with dual weapons or even just make a pleasing colour combination. I can't wait for the "devastator" recolors of these toys, they look amazing in neon green and purple. Quote
EXO Posted October 14, 2004 Posted October 14, 2004 They are all lame. I think the idea of robots comming together to form one big robot is stupid and impractical beyond belief. as compared to??? jets transforming into giant robots? A gigantic Space Cruiser... changing into a giant robot? A super musclebound guy riding the shockwave of an explosion behind him? Quote

BoBe-Patt Posted October 14, 2004 Posted October 14, 2004 I gotta say Predaking!! and then devastator. Quote
ewilen Posted October 14, 2004 Posted October 14, 2004 They are all lame. I think the idea of robots comming together to form one big robot is stupid and impractical beyond belief. For the most part, yes. Which is why I nominate the combining mecha in Project A-ko 2. Wish I could remember what it was called. Also, while vehicle Voltron himself (Dairugger XV I think is the original name) was pretty lame, the overall story wasn't bad. Quote

zeo-mare Posted October 15, 2004 Posted October 15, 2004 i like Predaking, but i also like Devastator due to the fact it was one of the first real combiner robots that i got when i was a kid, and i thought it was the most awesome thing , Dancouga and Gaigaigar Final are some of my more recent favorites Quote

Feyd-Rautha Posted October 15, 2004 Author Posted October 15, 2004 personally, i'm quite pleased with the recent revelation of agent one's; that he is of the opinion that combiner/merge group robot concepts all suck completely..and without exeption. ...this is just the the sort of thing i revel in Quote
Panzer Posted October 15, 2004 Posted October 15, 2004 hey i'm just sticking up for the other people who are having a good time posting on this thread. i know i get marked, modded and tagged as a troll fer less Quote

Panzer Posted October 15, 2004 Posted October 15, 2004 man... i just looked up that Devastator Transformer.. i haven't seen that toy since i was like 10. all it took was one look at that neon puke green color and i got all these old feelings of envy i had when i was a kid cause i never had one and i'd see these other kids with them. i gotta get me one. Quote
connor99 Posted October 15, 2004 Posted October 15, 2004 I'm with EXO on this one, gotta be VOLTES V (that's five! !). Quote

Armor Posted October 15, 2004 Posted October 15, 2004 (edited) This is a little off topic but, dose any one remember a Saturday morning live show call Eletro Woman Dina Girl? Oh yeah Voltron, Mighty Orbots & Devastator. Bring them all back. And bring back The Galaxy Rangers too. Edited October 15, 2004 by Armor Quote
Graham Posted October 15, 2004 Posted October 15, 2004 Combattler V. Best looking combining robot, with the best attacks and best opening song. Graham Quote
areaseven Posted October 15, 2004 Posted October 15, 2004 There was this one episode of The Big O, where Beck and his lackeys had machines that combined into a giant robot. That was actually pretty cool. Quote
