eNeS Posted October 4, 2004 Posted October 4, 2004 I receive my next paycheck in 3 weeks and I want to spend it on a veritech fighter toy, but im puzzled about which i should get, the MPC or the 1/48's? If the 1/48's are better then I will concider buying it but I have no idea where I can order one? Any help would be appreciated Quote
Qrusader Posted October 4, 2004 Posted October 4, 2004 1/48 - no question. Try going to Twin Moons anime or Valkyrie Exchange. Both are fair and reputable. I have multiple Valks from both. Valkyrie Exchange: http://www.valkyrie-exchange.com/frames.html Twin Moons Anime: http://www.tmpanime.com/ Good luck and welcome to the addiction....... Quote
NoSuchFile Posted October 4, 2004 Posted October 4, 2004 You can still get a 1/48 from several e-stores, the ones that Qrusader gave you are verry good places to try and buy one. Althought getting the exact toy you whant is slightly more complicated now... Most 1/48's are sold out, so you should make your move before there's no more left to buy out there Quote

mantisfists Posted October 4, 2004 Posted October 4, 2004 I agree with Godzilla. The MPCs aren't THAT bad. In fact, I wouldn't say they're bad at all. But, when compared with the 1/48s....there's really no comparison. Go with the 1/48, bro....you won't regret it. Quote

connor99 Posted October 5, 2004 Posted October 5, 2004 Hey, eNeS. welcome to THE forums. Hope ya like it here so far. I guess you know by now that the best made MAC toys out there are made by YAMATO, TAKATOKU and BANDAI. Now, if you still have your heart set on acquiring an Toynami MPC, I would suggest that you just wait for someone to put one up for sale here at these very same boards. Every now and then one will pop up for cheap. These things are not really worth spending yer hard-earned cash for, and as you can tell, a lot of our fellow members can attest to that. Take the advice of yer fellow MAC fans and collecttors, and check out the 1/48's by YAMATO. I promise, they WON'T disappoint. So, goodluck on yer Valk hunt and I hope you find the one yer looking for. See ya around. Quote
LORD KUNGFU Posted October 5, 2004 Posted October 5, 2004 your best option is this: 1) go and buy the most rare(expensive) 1/55 vintage takatoku you can find. Then customize it by painting it like transformers jetfire. 2) try to sell it on ebay after totally screwing it up 3) dont hunt me down and kill me after taking this advice. Quote
cyde01 Posted October 5, 2004 Posted October 5, 2004 Hello all. Lurker here who hasn't posted since we were on the old forums. Just wanted to share with someone that, thanks to Kevin, I am a new 1/48 first-time owner and I must say the thing is AMAZING, detail, transformation, size, and price. I mean, wow, this thing really does not dissappoint at all, it really does look as good as the pics on the net!! eNeS, I have never owned an MPC so I wouldn't know about that but I can guarantee you, you WILL NOT be dissappointed if you purchase the 1/48. The FP Max and Miriya are all that's left at valk-exchange but man, the verniers on those fastpacks just look like buttah!! It will cost you an arm and two legs for the FP, but it is worth the price if you like valks! Quote

'Tis true. I need one more figure for my 1/60 collecton (thanks to haterist) then its onto my 1/48's. And to think, it all started with the purchase of a Yamato VF-1A Cannon Fodder. Well I should say that it started with Jetfire . . . Quote

JoLe727 Posted October 5, 2004 Posted October 5, 2004 Two months ago, I started collecting MAC, both from MPCs and Yamato. Lemme tell ya....MPCs are not that bad. If you plan to buy MPCs, I suggest to wait since the price is dropping (Damn, I should have wait.....) And the production of Toynami, each valk yet hasn't reached 15,000 (I think). As Yamato 1/48....man, they are beautilful and well-detailed. You won't be disappointed. I own about five valks, and still hunting for more. (No way that I will be able to catch up with Godzilla ) However, Yamato produced limit numbers of 1/48 and soon to be rare. There is no word if Yamato is going to re-issue or produce more. If you are planning to buy with your hard-earned money, you may consider Yamato 1/48 since there are not so many out there. MPCs can wait. Hope it helps. Good luck!!! Quote
sleddogg83 Posted October 5, 2004 Posted October 5, 2004 Don't pay retail ($80) for any of the MPC's except maybe volumes (1 & 3, though they will likely be making more). They even just reissued appendix A for the MPC's. Quote
