blugts Posted September 14, 2003 Posted September 14, 2003 Everyone wants to see a VF this or VF that but I want an SDF-1! Maybe I'm the only SDF-1 lover out there, but I bet Yamato would make a bad ass SDF-1 with opening command tower, cool launching pads, and stuff. Maybe it would be too expensive but i'd drop $500 bucks for one that's at least 2ft tall! Some enemy ships would be cool too. Quote
Yamato Lover Posted September 14, 2003 Posted September 14, 2003 Graham has already revealed that Yamato WILL make an SDF-1 at some point, but it may be the last Macross item made; sort of like the proverbial icing on the cake. And I remember that it may be the DYRL version, although I can't remember where I read that part. Ben B) Quote
blugts Posted September 14, 2003 Author Posted September 14, 2003 Aaaahhh, guess I've been away that long! Thanks...will begin to save! Quote
scand Posted September 14, 2003 Posted September 14, 2003 Maybe, we'll get lucky and Yamato will produce an add on pack with the Prometheus and Deadulus. Quote
GobotFool Posted September 14, 2003 Posted September 14, 2003 the whole over all look between the DYRL and Show are different, from look to issues of shape, and expecially color. It would have to be two different realeases to have a show and a DYRL macross. Quote

EXO Posted September 14, 2003 Posted September 14, 2003 The LAST macross item? That's kinda bittersweet. As much as I want it, I'm almost hoping it never gets released. Quote
MicronianDevil Posted September 14, 2003 Posted September 14, 2003 An SDF-1 would be sweet. Though I know now that I will not be able to afford it. Too much $$$. Quote

I dunno. I'd personally be a little disapointed if it was much smaller than the 1/60 monster, and this is one item I really wouldn't mind spending the $300+ on (provided it warrants it, but hey - I have no doubts they can deliver). As for the last item they make for Macross - that'd probably make it potentially years away. They have the Macross Zero stuff to do, and probably more enemy mecha and maybe Destroids coming up. I would imagine that more Macross Plus stuff too would be coming (hoping for 1/48's of the 11, 19, and 21) ... They seem to be making a mint off of their Macross lines with no signs yet of interest tailing off in sight. You'd think they'd release it sooner rather than later to capitalize on all the current fan interest, especially before we all get jaded and cry 'no mas!. This is all speculation, btw, and I of course have no idea what they have up their sleeves. I'm just itching for this one - the ultimate Macross centerpiece ... Quote
Kaolian Posted September 14, 2003 Posted September 14, 2003 I want a SDF-1 with FAST packs. Everything is cooler with fast packs! Quote
Toonz Posted September 14, 2003 Posted September 14, 2003 how about toilet seat with fast pack? Quote
Hurin Posted September 14, 2003 Posted September 14, 2003 I recall Graham saying there would be an SDF-1. . . but for the life of me, I can't find where he said that it would be the last Macross toy that Yamato produces. Sounds like the "telephone game" has taken over. Purple monkey, dish-washer. H Quote
BoBe-Patt Posted September 14, 2003 Posted September 14, 2003 all I know is when yamato gets around to making this toy, it better be big! Maybe bigger then the 1/48's! that would be lovely! Quote
Lightning Posted September 14, 2003 Posted September 14, 2003 (edited) i want a 1/72 Megaroad for the 1/72 Yamato VF-4's when they make it! EDIT: or a 1/72 Macross 7 when they finally do the Mac 7 Valks! Edited September 14, 2003 by Lightning 06 Quote

Mr.Sci-Fi Posted September 15, 2003 Posted September 15, 2003 It would be a terrible move for yamato to make a sdf-1 the last thing they produced. Big things like that need to be at an apex of sales not at the end. I imagine then toynomi will beat them out on another sdf toy first. Quote
Graham Posted September 15, 2003 Posted September 15, 2003 I have never said that an SDF-1 is definitely going to be made. As with many Macross items, it's something which is under consideration for possible future production. Which means it may or may not get made. My personal opinion is that the chances of seeing an SDF-1 toy from Yamato are only poor to fair as unlike the VF-1, they can't release endless repaints to recover tooling and design costs If it does get made, I'm pretty certain they would make the DYRL version though, rather than the TV version, which suits me fine as IMO the DYRL version looks much better. Bub Posted September 15, 2003 Posted September 15, 2003 There you have it everyone. Still no confirmation of the SDF-1 in the pipeline. It was fun imagining though. Quote
Kaolian Posted September 15, 2003 Posted September 15, 2003 The big question now is whether they will ever release a superdimensional cheese wedge fast pack. That would be cool Yes. I'm insane. The doctors are working on it. Just ignore me for now. Quote
Rivervale_Elves Posted September 15, 2003 Posted September 15, 2003 how about toilet seat with fast pack? haha toonz i knew what u did when u were young...hee has that obsession with toilet stuff been with u since.... hee where's the VT-1 wallpaper u promised me??? Quote
Agent ONE Posted September 15, 2003 Posted September 15, 2003 See? Bob Dole with FAST Packs LOL... I actually think that the only other Macross thing I would buy now would be a DYRL Macross. Quote
Solscud007 Posted September 15, 2003 Posted September 15, 2003 Not everything looks good with fast packs. MPCs dont Quote

I think people would be more willing to shell out for a SDF-1 than a monster. I don't remember any monster varients, but at least with the SDF-1 they can make a TV and DYRL version. And that helmet, damn, what crack is the market stratagist on if they think a monster should preceend a SDF-1? Quote
Hurin Posted September 17, 2003 Posted September 17, 2003 I'm just disappointed that nobody got the "purple monkey, dishwasher" reference. Or, if they did, they gave no indication. H Quote

Mechafan Posted September 18, 2003 Posted September 18, 2003 The MPC do look good with fastpacks as long as you do not touch them to make them fall off. For Toynami, no SDF-1 in the future. I would rather Yamato make one anyway. If he does a DYRL version I would be very happy. Quote
Godzilla Posted September 18, 2003 Posted September 18, 2003 Maybe, we'll get lucky and Yamato will produce an add on pack with the Prometheus and Deadulus. I would hope so! Quote
