eriku Posted September 25, 2004 Posted September 25, 2004 Toynami announced their aquisition of the Chobits license some time ago but only recently have they unveiled a first look at Chi. http://www.toynami.com/chobits.html# I have to say, they look pretty good for home-grown anime figures. After seeing the Inu Yasha figures I expected Chobits to be a similar disappointment, but I'm pleasently surprised. While not super-articulated, Chi seems to have enough arm movement to allow for some different poses. I'll probably get the whole line if they aren't packaged in super-deluxe magnet-flap boxes and cost $50 a piece. Quote
ogami Posted September 25, 2004 Posted September 25, 2004 How much Toynami is going to charge on that? The face doesn't look right... It lacks of the feel of Clamp drawings... Quote
gnollman Posted September 25, 2004 Posted September 25, 2004 That just looks like ass.... ugh. Toynami figures just look like trash. Those Futurama I-men are about the ugliest things I've ever seen... Quote
Beware of Blast Posted September 25, 2004 Posted September 25, 2004 I think Chii looks fine at the angles they shot of her. If she looks like the way she looks in the anime, on the actual toy itself, I'm sold. A good idea would be for them to include swappable heads with different expression. Quote
Anubis Posted September 25, 2004 Posted September 25, 2004 Something about it just doesn't look right, just like the Inu Yasha figures. That and is that the best dress they could have chosen? Quote

Those Futurama I-men are about the ugliest things I've ever seen... How is it so bad? It looks like a 3D representation of the anime charicter to me, she isn't in a silly pose and appears to have good paint applications. Or maybe it's the automatic Toynami = BAD philosophy? Quote
sabretooth Posted September 25, 2004 Posted September 25, 2004 umm i thought that they looked pretty good and toynami is improving Quote
JELEINEN Posted September 25, 2004 Posted September 25, 2004 Looks-wise, it appears to be on par with a gashapon figure. Quote
NERV Posted September 25, 2004 Posted September 25, 2004 im seeing the 'figure' im not seeing the 'action' this isnt 1980 they have the ability to make it mor articulated than arms Quote
NERV Posted September 25, 2004 Posted September 25, 2004 I'm seeing "doll"... im seeing statue, prettymuch Quote
NERV Posted September 25, 2004 Posted September 25, 2004 the inuyasha figures look pretty good, the faces r kinsa off but they hardly ever get the faces right, noly one i dont like is kagome in that retarded "how does this bow work?" pose Quote

It's the face... the face is awful. Personally, for me, the face is the most important part of the statue/figure/item. If it's not right, or looks close, then it's junk. I refuse to buy it. As a result, I own no Leia figures from the new PotF Star Wars line. Not a one.... Quote
