jardann Posted September 21, 2004 Posted September 21, 2004 That's a great looking build. Especially for using that mediocre kit. Thanks for sharing. Job well done! Quote
Grayson72 Posted September 21, 2004 Posted September 21, 2004 Yeah I like the paint scheme, too bad it's not on a Hase kit. Quote
captain america Posted September 22, 2004 Posted September 22, 2004 Hi Lu. Not bad, not bad. I get the impression that you've been sharpening your painting skills lately, and it's starting to pay off. Just make sure no one ever finds out what you did to those poor FSS models, or they'll lymch you Next time I stop in, maybe I can give you a few painting/weathering pointers. Quick things, that'll make a big difference. Quote
Pat S Posted September 22, 2004 Posted September 22, 2004 I like the paint scheme. From those pics, looks like you did a quality job too. Quote
guncross2 Posted September 22, 2004 Author Posted September 22, 2004 Thanks Pats, Cap, Gray and Jard. You guys just gave me a boost of confident. Atmospheric booster, here I come. Sure! drop by any time and I'm not touching those FSS until I'll b as good as u John. Quote
whytwolf Posted September 22, 2004 Posted September 22, 2004 Man that battroid is a thing of beauty--what a great paint job! Makes me wish I had an airbrush and some skill with it Sean Quote
JLYC Posted September 22, 2004 Posted September 22, 2004 Can I please take a look at those FSS in question?? I've just recently got into FSS kits and would love to see any pics sorry if it's kinda OT Quote
guncross2 Posted September 23, 2004 Author Posted September 23, 2004 Thanks Whyt JLYC I would love to but they r in one of the storage boxes ' and Gray it was done a year or so before Hase version. Quote
Gerwalker Posted September 23, 2004 Posted September 23, 2004 Nice! Interesting paint scheme. BTW: I don't think we should dismiss the old kits just because of the Hase are better. They are (I love them) but these old kits are more easy to build and they don't look bad at all!! You can make three of these in the same time you build a Hase battroid and they are much cheaper!! About the FSS models: I was toying with the idea of making a web site for bad models. Something like the crapy models assylum or nursing house... where we can post our worst models. I think it could be a very funny site. Quote
Ido Posted September 23, 2004 Posted September 23, 2004 we must admit that those bandai kits are more close to the series visual that the Hasegawa too. Nice Model. Quote
guncross2 Posted September 24, 2004 Author Posted September 24, 2004 I agree with Ido & Gerwalker See Cap. I wasn't the only one preffering the old version over the Hase Quote
Vince Posted September 24, 2004 Posted September 24, 2004 while we're at it.. http://cybermodelers.no-ip.org/showcase/bo...box20030330.htm this guy did it right out of the box. Quote
nucleartiger Posted September 24, 2004 Posted September 24, 2004 Very nice, I really like that color scheme! Quote
Gerwalker Posted September 24, 2004 Posted September 24, 2004 while we're at it..http://cybermodelers.no-ip.org/showcase/bo...box20030330.htm this guy did it right out of the box. The Hase kit is beautiful, don't get me wrong, I had some troubles with the hip connections and chest plate but I love that kit. What I mean is that the Bandai is not that bad if you build it with care and love... and is cheap so you can try some weird ideas: for instance make a chest open version showing the internals and cockpit... Toonz Posted September 24, 2004 Posted September 24, 2004 we must admit that those bandai kits are more close to the series visual that the Hasegawa too. Nice Model. nice model. can you show us how the box art look like? oh, this pic looks so 1/55 Quote
