Skull00 Posted September 15, 2004 Posted September 15, 2004 (edited) Any one know of any more Macross Games besides this one for arcade? Australian MWers: Bid on this so I can come over to your house and play. Edited September 15, 2004 by Skull00 Quote
Pat S Posted September 15, 2004 Posted September 15, 2004 There's a Macross Plus one as well, I play it all the time on my MAME cabinet, check my sig... Quote
Hiriyu Posted September 15, 2004 Posted September 15, 2004 Don't forget the (lackluster IMHO) MacrossII arcade game either. Also playable in MAME. Quote
yellowlightman Posted September 15, 2004 Posted September 15, 2004 Don't forget the (lackluster IMHO) MacrossII arcade game either. Also playable in MAME. Actually, I think Macross II was the better Macross arcade game compared to the SDF Macross and the Macross Plus game. Based on the inferior anime, yes, but in terms of gameplay I found it a lot more enjoyable than the other two and spent a lot more time with it in MAME than I spent with the other two. Quote
Skull00 Posted September 16, 2004 Author Posted September 16, 2004 Thanks for that info. One day I'll own a cabinet just like Pat S. Thats so damn cool Pat. oh yeah I keep forgetting MW is more than just forums, sorry: Macross Arcade Games Quote
flayn80 Posted September 16, 2004 Posted September 16, 2004 i am lucky that i am a Macross fan in Singapore. All version of macross games are easily available here. Anyone here tried the Macross VXOP on PC?? Quote

McKlown Posted October 2, 2004 Posted October 2, 2004 Damn, I was hoping they would've had the sound issue fixed by now. Quote
maxjenius81 Posted October 3, 2004 Posted October 3, 2004 Mac II certainly had the most replay. Trying to meet those score requirements kept me coming back for more and more. Quote

JB0 Posted June 15, 2005 Posted June 15, 2005 Glad this is bumped. That's a damn nice cab(mainly because of the "marquee"), and I missed it the first time around. Quote

Golden Arms Posted June 18, 2005 Posted June 18, 2005 (edited) Hey I downloaded the Mac Plus game from Romnation but I can't get it to play using my mame 32 emulator. I placed the zip file in my rom folder ( I see it listed), but when I open up Mame 32 there is no listing of the game. I can't find it in any of the other directories as well. Did I do something wrong? Am I a complete idiot? any help would be appreciated. Edited June 18, 2005 by Golden Arms Quote

I use the command-line version, with the EmuLoader frontend. Quote
Golden Arms Posted June 18, 2005 Posted June 18, 2005 The Mame 32 version I have is for windows. How could I use the command-line version, with the EmuLoader frontend or do I need to download another emulator? Quote

Yes, MAME32 is for Windows. But what VERSION of MAME32 are you using? You know, .55, .79, etc. MacPlus was added in version .61. Not entirely recent(actually, fairly ancient), but it's possible you have an OLD version of MAME32. And you'd have to download the command-line version from mame.net. You can't get at it from MAME32. But I use it because I hate the MAME32 interface, not because it's a better emulator(anymore). Edited June 18, 2005 by JB0 Quote
JB0 Posted June 19, 2005 Posted June 19, 2005 The version I have is .37 beta 16 Oh, dear god... UPGRADE NOW! WHY ARE YOU STILL READING THIS! UPGRADE IMMEDIATLY! STOP READING AND UPGRADE ALREADY! *sighs* http://www.classicgaming.com/mame32qa/ Current site. Quote

Hiriyu Posted June 20, 2005 Posted June 20, 2005 Yep, .36 was what, latter part of '01? Think I started in the .33 betas somewhere, however, haven't updated since .78 or so. Still happily running EL and my out of date .exe's anyway Quote

StealthLurker Posted July 15, 2005 Posted July 15, 2005 just had to show it off, didn't you? Someone's gotta do it. 206450[/snapback] Well then here's my setup: Got the SDF macross pcb in a box somewhere... after about 20 minutes it gets old, so I popped in Raiden Fighters instead. More arcade pics in the sig around page 2/3. . Quote
GodMedia Posted July 15, 2005 Posted July 15, 2005 Just an aside, but the roms are available at EMUAsylum and there is sound support for all of the Macross games in the most recent versions of MAME. Quote
