Rah Xephon: the Motion picture

So I just finished up this near End of Eva clone and y'know I was actually liking it. I mean the first 3/4s of the movie was pretty coherent with little to no "Huh?" to those who've watched the series.

Then the did the end. Now, for a semi-compelation movie it did help to fill out some relationship dynamics between certain character, AND LEFT OTHER CHARCTERS COMPLETELY LEFT OUT OR CHANGED QUITE APPARENTLY. Not that it was really a bad thing in regards to the movies intended goal, which I think was to fill out dynimaics of character relations, specfically in regards to Ayato and Haruka.

Anyway, can a get a little help in regards to the ending? It left me a bit dazed and confused (kinda like the series), and some FYI or "Endings For Dummies" would be much appreciated.
