Major Johnathan Posted September 8, 2004 Posted September 8, 2004 I'm new to Macross Zero, so maybe I missed something, but has there been any artbooks on Macross Zero? I'm particularly hoping for a mecha-line art type of book... Quote
Dat Pinche Haro! Posted September 8, 2004 Posted September 8, 2004 none available at this point in time...i wouldn't mind one either Quote
Macross_Fanboy Posted September 8, 2004 Posted September 8, 2004 Who knows, maybe after episode 5, a movie edition will be underway. But, I would like one. And a new mecha designs book with Macross Zero material in chronological order would be neat too. Quote
Graham Posted September 8, 2004 Posted September 8, 2004 No news yet of any art book. Hopefully one will be announced after episode # 5 has been released. Graham Quote
MAXXxxx Posted September 8, 2004 Posted September 8, 2004 yep but please not a expanded macross design works. I'd be satisfied with: Mecha from M3 / the PS2 game / the DYRL game / M0 and the book that was supposed to be released about destroids and ships. (and the not even mentioned but book on char designs that'd complete the whole thing [so 1 book for valks, 1 for ship+destroid, 1 for char ] ) Quote
Majestic Posted September 8, 2004 Posted September 8, 2004 Macross Zero "Design Works-style"? YES PLEASE. Imagine the VF-0D lineart goodness.....(drools) Quote
yellowlightman Posted September 8, 2004 Posted September 8, 2004 I'm surprised we haven't seen an artbook of some form for this series yet. Keep my fingers crossed for something after episode 5 comes out... Quote
kanedaestes Posted September 8, 2004 Posted September 8, 2004 please come out with one, i want some lineart from that seris as well, sv-51 lineart, that's what i want, and of course vf-0 Quote
Graham Posted September 9, 2004 Posted September 9, 2004 Seems to me that compared to the 1980s or 1990s there are fewer and fewer anime artbooks being published these days, unless your name is 'Gundam SEED', which has like 30 gazillion artbooks out already . The lesser known TV series or OVAs don't seem to be getting no artbook love anymore. Gone are the happy days of the TIAS books, B-Club Entertainment Bibles and 100% New Type Collections Graham Quote
Gui Posted September 9, 2004 Posted September 9, 2004 Gone are the happy days of the TIAS books, B-Club Entertainment Bibles and 100% New Type Collections I miss these ones too... Quote

Graham Posted September 24, 2004 Posted September 24, 2004 Okay looks like they will be releasing the artbook after all:Macross Zero Artbook October 15, 2200 yen... Outstanding detective work to find that. Checking out the Mediax site, it looks like most of the books and mags they publish are all hentai stuff Graham Quote
UN Spacy Posted September 24, 2004 Posted September 24, 2004 Okay looks like they will be releasing the artbook after all:Macross Zero Artbook October 15, 2200 yen... I don't see any Macross Zero artbooks. Hahahaha. All I see are lovely Japanese models in scantily clad outfits. Quote
Graham Posted September 24, 2004 Posted September 24, 2004 Just checked amazon.co.jp, but it's not up for preorder yet. Graham Quote
Gui Posted September 24, 2004 Posted September 24, 2004 Whch one is not up for preorder yet? The Mac0 artbook or the hentai one? Quote
ewilen Posted September 24, 2004 Posted September 24, 2004 Checking out the Mediax site, it looks like most of the books and mags they publish are all hentai stuff I'm hard pressed to find anything pictured that isn't at least borderline hentai/porno, and even many of the items in the same section as M0 have suspect titles (based on Excite.co.jp translation). Weird. Why wouldn't Shogakukan be handling this? Found what appears to be the same thing, but a different price: Macross Zero Missing Memories Quote
Major Johnathan Posted September 24, 2004 Author Posted September 24, 2004 Great news! Think HLJ might have it? Otherwise, who might in terms of an English site? Quote
Macross_Fanboy Posted September 25, 2004 Posted September 25, 2004 Damn, all I see is porno, porno, porno! Where is this so-called design book??? Quote

Major Johnathan Posted September 27, 2004 Author Posted September 27, 2004 October release on HLJ (YES !!! )Macross Zero Mission Memories Only 1.143 Yens (but magazine or book ??? ) Cool, now I can get my Hasegawa DD SV-51 and this book/magazine in the same order, hopefully. It does seem to be fairly small or thin for that price, but beggars can't be choosers etc. Quote
jipe Posted September 27, 2004 Posted September 27, 2004 Major Johnathan Posted on Sep 27 2004, 03:51 PM Cool, now I can get my Hasegawa DD SV-51 and this book/magazine in the same order, hopefully. It does seem to be fairly small or thin for that price, but beggars can't be choosers etc. I will order it, but surprise !!! Maybe the size is like the "AM juju" little books or bandai entertainment bible ? no "artbook" word but "Mission Memories" what is mean... ??? Quote
Dat Pinche Haro! Posted September 28, 2004 Posted September 28, 2004 well just preordered one...don't know what it looks like nor if it's even a book...it could just be a bunch of post cars for all i know...i still want something macross zero related though so i ordered it Quote

Maybe the size is like the "AM juju" little books or bandai entertainment bible ? no "artbook" word but "Mission Memories" what is mean... ??? Pretty sure it's a mistranslation. It should be "missing memories", IMO. I know that doesn't help much. Sorry. Quote
Graham Posted September 28, 2004 Posted September 28, 2004 It's interesting that the publishers Mediax, list a price of ¥2,200, whereas both HLJ and Mangaoh show ¥1,143. Wonder who is correct? If it is ¥2,200, then it could be a decent size artbook. Graham Quote
Major Johnathan Posted September 28, 2004 Author Posted September 28, 2004 Maybe we're talking about two different books? Or maybe HLJ under priced it? Quote
Graham Posted September 29, 2004 Posted September 29, 2004 Eh, just checked the Mediax site for any updates and the Macross Zero book seems to have been removed from the listings . Could this mean a delay? Graham Quote
Graham Posted October 5, 2004 Posted October 5, 2004 Damn, just received the following email from HLJ: - "Thank you for your order for a following item. Item: Mediax Macross Zero Mission Memories (MDX13584) Unfortunately, this particular product turned out to be a phantom. By that we mean that the manufacture announced it, but ended up never actually releasing it. As such, we wanted to let you know that we were dropping it from your outstanding orders with us. I'm sorry for the disappointing news". WTF!?????? Graham Quote
Mr March Posted October 5, 2004 Posted October 5, 2004 Wow, I've never even heard of that before. That sucks! Quote
Dat Pinche Haro! Posted October 5, 2004 Posted October 5, 2004 (edited) yeah i just got the email too...it's really messed up for a company to announce a book then say they weren't going to bring it out after all...just total bull this company might've been trying to get a license to release a macross book and decided to announce a book before they even got any type confirmation from BW that it was okay to do so ...so when they did get a message back from BW they said no and had to pull everything off from their orders and their site Edited October 5, 2004 by Dat Pinche Haro!
