Bariaburu Faita Posted September 2, 2004 Posted September 2, 2004 (edited) http://www.gecard.com/character/macross.html Thats right, an all black stealth VF-1J. All you have to do is sign up for one of their credit cards and pray to the Froaty Head. I wonder what these will ebay for? Edited September 2, 2004 by Bariaburu Faita Quote

It is worldwide limited 3 super premiere マクロス! it looks like a contest Quote
Bariaburu Faita Posted September 2, 2004 Author Posted September 2, 2004 Hmm... Only 3 worldwide. I suppose I could do without the evil temptation inherent in a credit card. Quote
Toonz Posted September 2, 2004 Posted September 2, 2004 if that's the case, i rather customise one on my own Quote
Skull00 Posted September 2, 2004 Posted September 2, 2004 Yeah, its what Japanese companys call 'purezento' or present. A limited number of super premium and usually pretty nice items will be raffled off to customers. Typical examples include the Boss can coffee leather down jacket limited to like 100 pieces. Quote
izzyfcuk Posted September 2, 2004 Posted September 2, 2004 only three, and how much will this end up in ebay? Quote
wolfx Posted September 2, 2004 Posted September 2, 2004 If i had that credit card, I would SO be called the Ota-king. Mwahahhahah!! Quote
BoBe-Patt Posted September 2, 2004 Posted September 2, 2004 wow, now why can't american credit card companies offer us these kinds of prizes? Quote
buddhafabio Posted September 2, 2004 Posted September 2, 2004 because they are cheap. they only offer thos gimpy startrek looking walkmans. made in china for 30cents or a cheap 2$ watch or at baseball statuims those team hats Quote
Die, Alien Scum! Posted September 2, 2004 Posted September 2, 2004 Personally, I think it's pretty fugly. I'm glad there's only three; those are too nasty to spread around. They may as well have made them Pepto Bismal pink or baby-puke yellow. As far as a possible eBay auction is concerned, I would expect the price to be outrageous. And I wouldn't be surprised to see counterfeit ones pop up. Hopefully the real ones have some kind of certificate of authenticity. And how would you go about panel-lining it? LOL! Quote
BoBe-Patt Posted September 2, 2004 Posted September 2, 2004 And how would you go about panel-lining it? LOL! well, if you panel lined in black on a white valk, then it's pretty obvious you would panel line in white instead! Quote
vanpang Posted September 2, 2004 Posted September 2, 2004 Three in the whole world. Talk about exclusive !!! Quote
vanpang Posted September 2, 2004 Posted September 2, 2004 Wonder the maker is Yamato ? Since only Yamato is producing the 1/48 scales Quote
j_wong00 Posted September 2, 2004 Posted September 2, 2004 Damn... just damn. I'm not usually at a loss for words, but that thing just looks too damn good. But only 3 in the world... and I already have enough credit cards.... Quote
Ignacio Ocamica Posted September 2, 2004 Posted September 2, 2004 I never win anything, add that I really don't like it so I'm gonna sit back and relax and never worry about not getting it Quote
izzyfcuk Posted September 2, 2004 Posted September 2, 2004 If i had that credit card, I would SO be called the Ota-king. Mwahahhahah!! Dude, where are you from? i love otah! Quote
Myersjessee Posted September 2, 2004 Posted September 2, 2004 I bet Yamato releases a similar version for sale in the not to distant future. Wouldn't make sense to get the paint scheme ready and not do that. This will be similar (IMO) to the TRU limited 1/60 CF...and then the CF that came later. Folks...we are looking at the next limited 1/48 Quote
izzyfcuk Posted September 2, 2004 Posted September 2, 2004 it's disgusting to see that they are milking us for all it's worth, just like transformers repaints/exclusives Quote
Jawjaw Posted September 2, 2004 Posted September 2, 2004 I'm suprised Yamato doesn't do more limited repaint crap like Takara and others. The low-viz was a success and there have always been people customizing their valks. I don't care for that black one, though. The VF-1 does not have a stealth look and doesn't look good in all black IMO. I wonder if they are actually built by Yamato like that or whether someone just painted a few regular VF-1Js. Quote
Onimusha-shin Posted September 2, 2004 Posted September 2, 2004 it ought to be painted matt black. a really flat black colour for it to be considered stealth. but all things considered, it looks fine to me (i like black planes ) Quote
izzyfcuk Posted September 2, 2004 Posted September 2, 2004 Matt black! Matt black! it's all wrong, but i still want it..........and the meteor busters as well....... Quote
izzyfcuk Posted September 2, 2004 Posted September 2, 2004 i wouldn't be surprised if the next limited edition is a 1S whatever paint scheme it comes in Quote
Chowser Posted September 2, 2004 Posted September 2, 2004 i'd rather have the credit card. how about, CLEAR colored Limited Edition VF-1A! waitaminute, have the outside clear, but paint the insides. i'd still rather have a production VF-1A Max-TV version. Yamato, are you listening?????? Quote
bsu legato Posted September 2, 2004 Posted September 2, 2004 Cool. I foolishly skipped the Low Viz, but if this ever goes mass production I'll definitely be all over it. Then I'll sell it at a 200% markup to some other poor slob who waited to long and missed out. Quote
Sumdumgai Posted September 2, 2004 Posted September 2, 2004 Limited edition VF-1A Roy as "appearing in Macross Zero Episode 5" (this is a joke, don't be fooled!). Limited Edition Kakizaki color scheme. I hate debt, they can keep the credit card! Quote
EXO Posted September 2, 2004 Posted September 2, 2004 I'll take the black one. But I agree why not sell more limited stuff? I wish they would tampo print it like Bandai's 1/55, screw decals and stickers... no offense to the wonderful people here at MW, but man... what a fricken turn on the detail on Smokescreen and that Akira bike is. Quote
chowyunskinny Posted September 2, 2004 Posted September 2, 2004 Huh, looks like the Skull Squadron Logo on the Tailfins, and did anyone notice the Headshield looks baby blue? Quote
Godzilla Posted September 2, 2004 Posted September 2, 2004 Gee, let's have the USAF paint their F-15s black and then call it stealth. I am not impressed with it. They need to make a limited edition VF-1S Minmay guard or something with other squadron colors or even better a TV Kaz or TV Max VF-1A series. Or why dont they make the 2 seaters a limited edition. Yes I am hung up on the 2 seaters. Why did you think I skipped out the 1/60 Ostrich, Elint and VF-1D. Better yet, the VF-1D Virgin Road as a limited edition. Quote
Kurt Posted September 2, 2004 Posted September 2, 2004 Only 3 in the world, why so many? I can customize a 1/48 for you and I promise that it will be one of a kind.... Quote
eugimon Posted September 2, 2004 Posted September 2, 2004 I dunno.. it's cool but it's also meh. I'm leaning towards meh. Quote
do not disturb Posted September 2, 2004 Posted September 2, 2004 its pretty darn fugly. i'd rather pay Kurt to paint a custom than pay/win this POS. if anyone woud like a limited version black 1J(limited to how many orders i get), let me know. i got a can of black krylon with your name on it. Quote
Blaine23 Posted September 2, 2004 Posted September 2, 2004 Definitely not that great... not to mention with only 3 made, it's not like some sort of high priced "fanboy-gouger" like convention exclusives, toy store exclusives and the like. This is just a promotional giveaway - no more, no less. I am for sure not very interested in it, because it's non-canon AND ugly. Of course, those were my same reasons for not buying the Low-Vis. But I'm definitely in the minority on that one. Quote
