Its not the matter of "take it how you want" when you make general questionable statment on a public forum. A person or few might question on the statement that they feel need to be address or clarified. If you do not want to make clarification, that is entirely your right. However, then don't make general stament on race, culture or like wise on a public forum, if you do, more than likely you will get question on your statment.

eh, it was just a joke. both her parents are korean, and she was born in korea, she speaks korean. she's very korean.

You should take the "sad, vunerable" as a joke for "desperate for man-love"-type humor, and the "korean" part, probably to mean "someone a Anime-fan-boy would be sexually attached to" deal. Add them up, and it's a good joke, if you have a sense of humor.
