the white drew carey Posted September 10, 2003 Posted September 10, 2003 I've noticed that many MWers, myself included, like to illustrate different aspects of our point via A), B), C), etc. But, as you can see, the B part turns into B). Is there anyway that smiley can be changed... or do we have to start numbering our points as 1), 2), 3), etc.? Quote
JsARCLIGHT Posted September 10, 2003 Posted September 10, 2003 It seems we've found the " !) " problem of this board... Remember on the old board how when you'd place a "!" next to a ")" you'd get a ? So sentance that read (Macross Ownz!) would really show up as (Macross Ownz ... Quote
bsu legato Posted September 10, 2003 Posted September 10, 2003 This Smiley is NOT cool!!! Pffft! You just wish that you had some sunglasses that cool. But yeah, I've noticed that problem too. And it's not case sensitive, either. Quote
Agent ONE Posted September 10, 2003 Posted September 10, 2003 Can the shortcut even be changed, or is that hard coded in the board? Quote
SuperOstrich Posted September 10, 2003 Posted September 10, 2003 I'm pretty sure it's hardcoded into the board. Makes sense to change it if possible. Quote
lebhead Posted September 11, 2003 Posted September 11, 2003 you can change it, but an admin has to do it. login to the admin CP, go to "Manage Emoticons" under the "Administration" header. there you can specify which shortcuts generate which emoticons. you can even add/delete your own emoticons. albino drew, for now i suggest just adding a "." after the letter B. for example... A.) B.) C.) D.) . . . Quote

tom64ss Posted September 11, 2003 Posted September 11, 2003 Couldn't you also just put a space between the "B" and the ")"? Quote
Abombz!! Posted September 11, 2003 Posted September 11, 2003 Couldn't you also just put a space between the "B" and the ")"? Hmmm.... lets see...... B )..... did it work? Quote
dna Posted September 11, 2003 Posted September 11, 2003 Or you could disable smiley's in your post. Quote
Yohsho Posted September 11, 2003 Posted September 11, 2003 Or you could disable smiley's in your post. But what would be fun about that? Quote
EXO Posted September 11, 2003 Posted September 11, 2003 looks like DNA has a point. You can disable smilies just for that post, not for all posts. B) <_ src="%7B___base_url___%7D/uploads/emoticons/additional_smile.png" alt=":)"> Quote

tom64ss Posted September 11, 2003 Posted September 11, 2003 Oh well, so much for the "quote". BTW >EXO<, nice avatar. I can't believe it's been two years already. Seem like just yesterday when I was standing on the roof of my ex-girlfiends apartment watching in horror as it all happened. It's extra quiet in the city today. Quote
Legioss Posted September 27, 2003 Posted September 27, 2003 Can we get this one back? I want to use it all the time, but there's just that smirking smiley with the sunglasses. Quote
Agent ONE Posted September 29, 2003 Posted September 29, 2003 Can we get this one back? I want to use it all the time, but there's just that smirking smiley with the sunglasses. B) It still works. It was never disabled. Quote
