  1. I was shopping around for dairugger/vehicle voltron toys & discovered this odd one that came with a toy pistol & was wondering if anyone have any info on it? I've tried searching around & found nothing but the same listing i took the photos from.
  2. Uploaded with ImageShack.us Toys coming from Bandai: http://www.poeghostal.com/2010/06/thundercats-toys-coming-from-bandai.html It looks like it's going to look more like a Japanese property.
  3. From the album: Personal Macross Kits

Aqueous Macross Color Set 3 Destroid Defender. Aqueous Macross Color box in comparison to 1/72 Defender kit box. The 1/72 Defender was actually my first ever Macross kit, so the paint set makes a nice companion piece.

  4. From the album: Personal Macross Kits

Aqueous Macross Color Set 3 Destroid Defender. The three little jars seem like they would barely have enough paint for the job. Oddly enough, each jar has no label or unique marking. You get a sheet of them to apply yourself - 1, 2 & 3. Hopefully you're not color-blind! My sample's base medium had migrated out of the lid of each jar, collecting like dried amber inside the box. One jar is actually tightly glued into the box.

  6. From the album: Personal Macross Kits

Aqueous Macross Color Set 3 Destroid Defender. Vintage water-based acrylic paint set for Imai & Arii Destroid Defender kits. I had wondered about these sets for a long time, so I bought a dried-up but unused set cheaply via eBay.

  7. From the album: Personal Macross Kits

My recent buildup of Arii's "Metalize Custom" 1/100 Destroid Spartan kit. A rubbing with a #2 pencil against the cut-off gate points touched up the lack of chrome in those spots.
  8. From the album: My Macross Collection

Recent case-fresh (!) purchase - Harmony Gold edition of Matchbox Nosjadeul-Ger toy: "Quadrono Batallion" - female Zentraedi, I guess based on the name given to female armor in the Robotech adaptation, since Matchbox didn't make a Q-Rau toy. These aren't so bad, really. They were actually designed & originally tooled-up by a Japanese company. The rendering reminds me a lot of Clover's last few Dunbine toys. The colors of this edition differ a bit from the earlier Matchbox edition, and the later ExoSquad edition.

They don't fit well to the compound curves in many surfaces on the toy. But the joints are nice & tight.

Vintage kit from Arii's "Metalize" sub-line. These are a unique challenge to build!
  11. From the album: Personal Macross Kits

Some sub-assemblies on the workbench, during my restoration of this vintage buildup.
  12. From the album: Personal Macross Kits

Instructions from a recent score - 1/72 "Iron" series metalized Imai Battroid kit. These were pretty difficult to get back in the 80s. Even though the kit is missing a tiny joint piece, I'm pretty happy with the acquisition! I do intend to build it.
  13. From the album: Personal Macross Kits

Two 'presskit' photos that Revell used to promote "Orbot", their Robotech kit series redeco/repackage of the Imai 1/72 Variable VF-1D kit. These would be sent to hobby media publishers, provided to sales people and mail-order companies, and used at trade shows.
  14. From the album: Personal Macross Kits

A nice example of the beautiful box art Arii created for their kits.

Parts of the Imai 1/72 VF-1A variable kit, getting their clearcoat.

  17. From the album: Personal Macross Kits

Haven't decided if I'll build this or not. The base kit is terrible. I've got two other Metalize kits that I WILL build, but I didn't much like this design to begin with....

Gerwalk it I recently bought very cheaply from the generous owner of Cosmic Connection, from some of the leftovers from his 1980s mail order company. This is "The Last Gerwalk At Cosmic Connection"...
  20. From the album: Personal Macross Kits

This catalog from the 1980s is from Cosmic Connection - the folks who I got so many Macross & other kits from 'back in the day'.

Vintage and modern Macross vinyl figures. They make a PERFECT pair! Bravo, Toynami!

My original THIS IS ANIMATION, autographed over two decades later by Mari at a convention in Pittsburgh. Never, EVER thought I'd meet her, and get it autographed.
