Since Chogokin has it's own dedicated thread, I thought I'd start one for Robot Spirits figures so we don't have dozens of related threads scattered all over the forums. Here, we can discuss our Robot Spirits collections, upcoming releases, and anything else pertaining to this awesome line of mecha figures. I started my RT (Robot Tamashii, not to be confused with Robotech) love affair with the Full Metal Panic figures, and have been extremely impressed with each and every one of them. I have all of the FMP mecha, including two next-to-impossible-to-find Savages. I just received the web-exclusive MITHRIL Emergency Booster set in the mail today and was surprised at how much it's launch catapult resembles some of the MSG Mechanical Chain Base sets. The booster itself is a nice one-size-fits-all design for all versions of the M9 and the ARX-7. In launch mode, the catapult footpads raise up between 45 and 50 degrees, resembling "starting blocks" that track runners use. Overall, it's an awesome accessory for the Side AS figures...which makes me even more excited for the Gray/White Arbalest and Weapon Set in November. I know some people hate the way Bandai releases add-ons like this as aftermarket sets, but I like being able to expand on the figures I already have in my collection. (Photos coming soon) I haven't ventured beyond the FMP series with these figures, but as time goes on, and Bandai adds new series to its lineup, I'm sure I'll branch out... -

Ex Machina is an upcoming sci-fi thriller by writer/director Alex Garland (28 Days Later, Dredd), starring Domhnall Gleeson (Bill Weasley in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows), Oscar Isaac (Inside Llewyn Davis, Prince John in Robin Hood), and Alicia Vikander (Kitty in Anna Karenina, Gaby in The Man from U.N.C.L.E.). Discotek Media just announced today on their Facebook page that they will bring Robot Carnival (ロボット・カーニバル) back into the U.S. anime market. This means that the American general public will see the original Japanese version for the first time ever.

Autómata is an upcoming sci-fi film directed by Gabe Ibáñez, starring Antonio Banderas (Puss in Boots, The Mask of Zorro), Birgitte Hjort Sørensen, Melanie "now former Mrs. Banderas" Griffith (Edith in Cherry 2000, Tess in Working Girl), Dylan McDermott (Bobby in The Practice, Sgt. Frantz in Hamburger Hill), Robert Forster (Max Cherry in Jackie Brown, Scott in The Descendants), and Tim McInnnerny (Lord Percy Percy and Captain Darling in Blackadder). It does have an I, Robot vibe mixed with a little bit of Elysium. The film hits theaters on October 10. Official Site

Here's some of the mechs from the show Macross fans should note that Sho Hayami (Max Jenius) and Marina Inoue (M30's Aisha Blanchette) will be in the show. Let's hope this one isn't as bat**** insane as Valvrave.

Just when you think they've exhausted every cliche in a zombie movie, they decide to throw robots into the mix. Robots that look like a Zaku from Gundam and a Cylon had babies. https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=eVB-9Mgsx38 They also seem to be ripping off part of the plot to Resident Evil 5. -
