I'm not really interested in finding or posting in other toy forums, but my Macross love led to finding other toys I loved of course. I recently got a bunch of Alien toys to play with (and more on the way soon hopefully), and I usually like to mix it up with my Macross stuff. So, I thought I'd make a place here for posting pics of your non Macross stuff and/or for your crossover episodes. So if you're playing with your other toys, figures, etc and/or mixing it up, please take a pic and post it here! I'll start the thread off with this somewhat accidental pose. My NECA Aliens Queen figure wouldn't stay upright, so I dejectedly placed her like this and then thought it would make a great pose with the Toynami valks that I keep at work (that also don't like to stay put). Btw, if you're on the fence about buying this Alien Queen figure, don't waste your money unless you're a die hard fan and need to have this in your life. She is badly proportioned (well admittedly, she was in the movie too), doesn't like to stay standing (impossible without the stands), the stands suck, the joints are weak, some of mine broke almost immediately, the back spikes are impossible to get installed properly without glue, and other than looking awesome, she just sucks as a figure for the $120 she costs! But maybe I'm expecting too much.

A friend of mine is an awesome Prop builder so I asked him to build the H-90 Gallant and to make it Modular as a one off for me. I am aware of a project to make the Gallant for sale, however with import of RIFs to the UK, figured safer to just find a UK based builder. So with a little artistic license, Rare Earth Magnets, a Very stable and solid modular GALLANT weapon. Next step is now to find a Hard shell case for display/transport. I do have plans for a CV-3 armour set too.

If the mods want to delete this thread, due to the separate ones, then I understand. At the moment, there look to be about 4 or 5 threads on various Megazone 23 products in the first few pages here. Since there are so many different items coming out this year and next, I figure that it might be helpful to have a single thread to keep them all straight, and to compare/contrast. We have: - Arcadia 1/24 (thread at ) - Freeing 1/20 (thread at ) - Fewture 1/20... or 1/15... unclear (thread at - The old Yamato, which can be great for comparison, 1/15 (rider was closer to 1/18) (thread at ) - Aoshima also made a 1/24 model (no recently active thread on that) So, here is how things look to me: Arcadia: 1/24 "die cast model". The big deal to this one, in my opinion, is that they have shown prototypes of Hagans and Proto Garland (at Wonderfest in 2016, and updated in 2017). So, while this one looks largely like a scaled-down Yamato, it might be worth getting if it is going to be part of a full in-scale line of Megazone 23 products. They have also more recently revealed an add-on strike Garland pack (shields and weapons that add on to make it look like the Strike Garland). Price: 25,800 at HLJ for Garland, 24,510 at CDJ, 23,994 at A-E, 25,300 for the Garland; 64,584 for the blue and white version; 25,704 for the Strike Parts; all at AmiAmi (the latter two appearing to be incentives from the Kickstarter for the new anime); Release: 12/2017 Freeing: 1/20 scale This one wins on robot mode, but the bike mode looks a little crushed together. The video that they put out showing the transformation of this thing looks, in my opinion, terrible. Just way way WAY too finicky. On the other hand, it's an E=X Garland, and I've wanted one since I first saw Megazone 23 Part III, and never thought we'd get one. The figure that comes with it looks kind of cool. Price: 26,213 on HLJ, 24,834 on CDJ, 23,460 on A-E; Release: 02/2018 Fewture: 1/20, though it seems closer to 1/15 in robot mode Looks similar to the Yamato, but with more elongation and sharp points. Maybe a little artistic license taken to make it look more dynamic. The paint job definitely looks less plastic and more paint, with a darker color than I think we've seen before. It does look detailed, though the figure that comes with it looks a little iffy. Price: 39,800 on HLJ. 39,800 on CDJ, 37,810 on A-E; Release: 04/2018 So, what are everyone's thoughts, looking at all of these together? The Fewture looks detailed, but I'm not a fan of the paint, and the pricing is just way way too high for my tastes. The Freeing looks cool, but finicky. Tempted to get it due to no other E=X figures being out there, but not sure what you're getting justifies the price. To me, the Arcadia is the only one I'm seriously considering. The pricing is a little more reasonable, but still up there, so I'm on the fence. On the other hand, if this does become a larger line, with multiple versions of the Garland, plus Harguns, maybe cheaper strike packs down the road, and if they have a deal to make figures for the new anime (which may be the case, looking at the Kickstarter incentives), then I know I'm going to be kicking myself later if I don't get this one.

Anyone collecting these? I've just started. Hoping there are fans here so I have people to discuss collecting these with. I've picked up the Enterpise-D and Enterprise movie refit. The D was flawless. Unfortunately, the movie refit had misaligned nacelles that are not parallel. One nacelle also sits higher than the other. It really bugs my OCD. I don't know if they are all like that or I just got a bad one? Is there bootlegs of these? I did get mine from China missing the book.

Ah, the enigmatic Graham just refined his hint, so thought we might as well open up a new thread to discuss it. For one thing, we know it can't be Macross or Votoms. I don't think it's gonna be Orguss since Graham mentioned that another company is doing some Orguss stuff already. It's gotta make 'a lot of Macrossworlders happy' so it should be something we're familiar with. I personally would have wanted Mospeada mecha like the Mospeada itself or even better the Alpha fighters (lots of repaint possibilities on that one too so it would make sense from a practical standpoint. Hmmm...

Welcome to the MW thread for the under-appreciated SQUARE franchise of Front Mission. Personally, my first exposure to FM was FM 3 for the PS1. I was totally hooked on that game; the appeal of piloting a squad of fully customizable mechs in a world where such vehicles had actually succeeded in being an integral part of a modern battlefield added to an ungodly amount of hours to be spent on one videogame. After FM3, I went to play FM1, FM Gun Hazard, FM4 for the PS2, FM5, and just recently FM2. I would be remiss to not mention the small group of super-fans whose work allowed me to actually play these games in English. A thorough tour of their website will reveal exactly why FM did not get the attention it should have, not to mention the full reach of multimedia that the West did not get to enjoy. Regardless, I made this thread to gather fellow wanzer-heads, and to celebrate the acquisition of this bad boy, a hardly seen 1/35 scale resin kit of the venerable Zenith wanzer as depicted in FM2: This looks to be quite a build, so if anyone else has built this thing, I welcome your insight. In addition to FM2, I have also been enjoying the FM Dog Life & Dog Style manga. It seems to be a collection of vignettes that take place during the events of FM1. Its a great read, but it certainly deals with a lot more mature themes that none of the games have touched.

It seems the 1/72 Vf-1J and VF-1A fighters are showing "in stock" on the Calibre Wings website....has anyone received them? I placed an order via Flying Mule due to their 20% PO discount but they seem to always get their stuff last.... I am glad that I picked up the VF-1S and M&M VF-1J set, they are all excellent display pieces.....wonder if this is the end of the road for canon VF-1's from Calibre Wings?.....I am taking a pass at the original paint schemes they are releasing...

Who liked Crusher Joe? Some mecha designs were by Shoji Kawamori who did beautiful work on Macross, as we all know. Some elements of his design evolution can clearly be seen in in Pinnace Fighter. Although a couple of models of this bird have been available in 144 & 100 scale, I didn't like them... they seemed to squat or not detailed enough for me. So I decided to build my own. Model is under construction, WIP below: http://s177.photobucket.com/albums/w239/PetarB/Pinnace/ Where I'm at:

Out of nowhere Bandai is bringing a new action figure. I couldn’t find a thread for the show, so I figured I’d start one in case other items appear like new kits other action figures or just a rerelease of the series.

I finally took the dive and ordered a Cube-3D printer from Staples. Here is the link: http://www.staples.com/Cube-3D-Printer-Silver/product_201876?externalize=certona . It is a hunk of change, but prices on printers have gone down drastically since I've started following this. I also like how it's basically 3d printing for idiots and it's supposed to work right out of the box... I highly doubt it will be so though. My main interest is just to create some low polygon count scifi recreations. Has anyone experimented with 3D printing? I think I saw some Macross replacement parts on Shapeways not long ago.

Hey everyone, It's been a while since I've posted any builds on this site. I think the last was the 1/60 scale drone from Macross Plus....it'll resurface one of these days! My current project a 1/10 scale interpretation of Jim's jeep from Mospeada. At this stage, it's simply a MDF mock-up. I'm hoping to finish it up by the end of the weekend and get started on the actual piece next week. I'll eventually offer this as a kit. I hope you enjoy. More soon.
