  1. Planning this ~ デュランダル I've had the conversion ever since Bandai dupped us by going 1/100 instead of 1/72. It was shelved due to the bad (IMO) quality and aggravating proportions which give it an even more toy-like feel on top of it being a conversion for the Bandai VF-25f kitformers and a poor recast. Having scored a couple of Hasegawa Messiah's on ebay for real cheap I decided to put this project back on the table. Playing in PS with the VF-25's Master File linework and artwork from MacrossF Sayonara no Tsubasa's data book I think I figured it out what bothered me so much about the sculpt. -First I figured out a large portion of the VF-25f is usable in the conversion. Given the Hase kit dominates the Bandai intricate kit in details (like the engine and cockpit) AND the fact the conversion kit itself delete Bandai's details further... this is great! I should be able to use the cockpit/nose section, intake, and the legs in full. This makes me really happy. -Secondly I figured out just what exactly I hated about the conversion kit's sculpt. The main issue if everything topside from the intake vents/head forward is simply too small for the body of the kit. Comparing the resin kit's nose to the Bandai kit you can see it is visually sleeker looking. You then compare the Bandai and Hase kit any you realize it is shorter. So smaller and shorter and droopy. This is really visible comparing the kit on top of the movie's artwork. I expect I will try to use everything from the battroid head forward to fix this. Right now I'm still test fitting everything and need to get more of the Hase kit built. This will require careful planning for a complex cut to splice the kits together. It is very easy to rush the hacking and make more work like I learned with my Tornado Pack build.
  2. Happy Holidays: I've been working on creating a list of every single Macross kit in all scales (1/144, 1/100, 1/72, 1/48, etc) and materials (plastic, resin, vinyl, etc). The last (2) years were spent compiling links to every website/thread containing information/pictures about Macross kits. Anyone interested in assisting, please let me know. The ultimate goal will be to update the MW Model Section. http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/topic/10945-macross-172-scale-complete-list/ * If you have a list of your Macross model collection please send it to me via MW messenger to see if there's anything missing. (Shawn, Chad, Carl, etc.) * If you own more than (10) kits or have any rare ones but no list, please consider to take a picture and send it me or create a list yourself. * If you have any background information about the origins of rare manufactures (Experten, I.H.P., Liquid Stone, D-Stance, etc.) please contact me or post in the thread. First off, I need feedback on the numbering system for the following kits. If you own any of these kits that have numbers on the side, please help me fill in the blanks. These pictures are from my personal collection. (Please be specific what you're referring to, or pictures will be awesome.) 1.) Arii 1/100 HEWAT Model Collection Question: Does anything come after #10, or other numbered Arii collections you know of? 2.) Arii 1/100 Silver Box Model Collection (I'm only missing #102 VF-1J Hikaru if anyone can help.) Question: Does anything come before #78, after #112, or between #84 and #98? 3.) Bandai 1/100 Model Collection The VF-1S, VF-1D, and VF-1J Max each have two different box art available. (Picture forthcoming) Question: How many releases were there? (Original, 15th Anniversary, and 30th Anniversary) Question: Which release had numbers on the side? (Original most likely) Question: What's the missing numbers? 4.) Imai 1/72 Model Collection Question: What's the missing numbers? (Very strange numbering system, they jump around a lot..before, after and in between unknown.) 5.) Hasegawa 1/72 and 1/48 Model Collection Question: They use a numbering system, anyone have a large collection that could provide a picture with them in order? 6.) Bandai 1/72 Model Collection Question: Did the original variable kits use a numbering system for the 1st release like the Bandai 1/100 1st release did? Question: How many releases were there? (Original, 15th Anniversary, and 30th Anniversary) Will update as we go, Christopher
  3. For all of you that though that I'm retired from modelling, let me prove that you were wrong! Since my baby daugther born in July, I don't have any time for nothing, but I try to take advantage of any free moment that I have, even if they are just few minutes. So don't expect too much from me this year neither. So, here is my lastest work, one of my first GK purchased here in MW, 8 years ago. This is the original Launch Arm developed by Gundamhead & Jesse. VF-1 obviously is a Hasegawa, the box was made with 2 H-Hanger by Wave, and the Frame and other details were scratchbuilt, based in the following lineart: Model was painted with Mr. Color paints, Valk is detachable due some magnets in the Arm, and in fact, I prefer to display just the Valk in home, and keep the Launch Arm just for exhibitions, just to avoid bending in the arm, due the weight of the Valk. Special thanks to WM Cheng and Jefuemon for inspiring my work in this model with their own Launch Arm versions. Hope do you like it!!
  4. I decided to try out the technique in a bigger model, a friend may want me to build and paint his 1/20 planax, but I declined as I think I need practice and I am a really bad builder
  5. I am trying to do a collection of these celshade eggplanes, this is my take on the YF-19, it is a shame that there is no YF-21
  6. Since Hase looks like pushing out more variants of the planes, i guess its ok to start a thread on hasegawa releases on the game. The other specific thread abt the ridgebacks is here..
  7. DAT ART! Is this gonna be the boxart for hase's vf-31J?
  8. Here are some photos of a VE-11D I've done in the original VT-1 Elintseeker livery:
  9. I tried with celshading technique for the Hasegawa eggplane, I think is tacky, but because of that it suits the charm of the eggplanes
  10. Hi Macross modelers !. Hasegawa has announced the re-issue of the Max's VF-22S from Macross 7 on next April 5th, and HLJ has re-activated the below link for this item to be purchased, now flagged as backordered. hlj.com/product/HSG65765 With this move, hopes for the moonshooters' VF-22S to be re-issued are now high. Happy hunting (online shopping) to everyone !
  11. After the surprise attack, it´s time to emerge from the ground and hit them, it´s time for some payback Wallpaper made with my hasegawa and bandai scale models. I hpoe you like it guys, feel free to share, I just ask you to give me credit by linking my facebook page Please visit my macross page http://www.facebook.com/ArquimiaModels
  12. Hi Guys!! I want to share with you my personal Macross page, where I upload my Macross scale models, wallpaper made with my hasegawa models and other beautiful models. http://www.facebook.com/ArquimiaModels I hope you enjoy and share my albums and pictures Thank you
  13. Kit Background I used the Hasegawa YF-19 as a base and VF-19 Master File as reference to modify it to a proper two seater. Unfortunately, the kit doesn't come with two pilot figures. Hence the empty second seat. Aircraft Background This aircraft belongs to one of the special unit that involves in clandestine operations. There is no visible squadron markings and not much background information regarding the aircraft or its pilots. Their operation records will be sealed for hundred of years.
  14. If you're like me and have been waiting for a reasonable price for one of these kits, then your time has come! SV-51 Twinbooster VF-0A/S with Ghost
  15. Hi guys! Here's another from the stash! As with my previous model (SV-51) this one have been sitting on the stash for too many years. The build was straight forward after building many vf-1, but the decals were another story. I believe that for being so much time on the box, when I started decaling there were many that literally disintegrated on the water. Lucky me, had many leftovers of previus valks. After all frustration, I believe it came up pretty decent. Now it's time to move to the vf-11 or 25. We'll see. Martin
  16. This is such a neat color scheme with great tail fin decals that I had to build one. Here's the result.
  17. Finally finished! What I was looking to do was this: Did I succeed? Couple of firsts for me on this kit. All of the red and black were painted, not decals. Never done that much of an extensive masking/painting before. Used the Jasmine Models PE set for the first time. And, used Wave sculpting putty to modify a Studio Starforge pilot figure to get a the First figure.
  18. I noticed this up for pre-order on HLJ as I was browsing. http://hlj.com/product/hsg65833 I'm not caught up on Delta, but it's a smart-looking VF-1 scheme... and I take it it rocks the EX-Gear system?
  19. Hi!! Long time since my last post. I want to share my VE-1 Elintseeker, it´s been like 2 years since I finished it, it was in my shelf an eternit - like 10 years or so- waiting to be built), It has some scratch build here and there, specially in the cockpit. Let me know what you think guys.
  20. The say-what-now?? Yeah, not official, but I'm continuing the tradition of naming training aircraft after large, flightless birds. Was originally the VF-11D Thunderseeker, just trimmed the head antenna, added a VF-11C gunpod, also in training colors, and did the overall color scheme myself. I'll be bringing this one to Shizuoka next month, too.
  21. So, I talked about building it, now I've finished it. Alto's VF-25F Tornado Messiah from "Macross Frontier - The False Songstress". Base kit is the Hasegawa Super Messiah, everything else is from Bandai's (horrible) transforming Tornado kit. And yes, I am planning on bringing this with me to Shizuoka in May.
  22. Hey, my first kit-bash! Thought I'd share what I'm doing here to those who might not as yet taken the plunge in combining two different company's kits. For the main base kit, I'm using Hasegawa's VF-25 Super kit, since that way I don't have to futz around with trying to fit on the leg armor. You will need to separate these parts out, though. The middle portion is not needed. These are the Tornado parts you'll need from the Bandai kit. I despise the Bandai Frontier line, that's why I'm putting these parts onto a Hasegawa kit. Wings? You won't need them. You can also skip the part where you put in the wing mounts/swing mechanism, since you're going to keep the wings fully swept anyways. On the Tornado wings, you'll need to open the opening up a bit more to fit over the Hasegawa kit. That's where I'm at right now. When I come to more modifications, I'll update.
  23. I have been a member for I believe over 10 years. I don't post much, but this I believe is a worthy and noble cause. Jasmine Models is running low on Stock for these Photo Etched parts. Seems like Macross World might be the best source for JM in regards to repeat customers. Thus I would like to petition the reissue of the following items (most importantly parts for VF in 1/72 and 1/48 scale) Because this is probably the only way that Newca will seriously consider making another batch, if you read this please reply and add your Name to the list and how many you are REALISTICALLY interested in. (see below) I am definitely interested!
