  1. Morgan is a sci-fi film by Luke Scott (Ridley Scott's son) in his directorial debut. It is yet another tale of an artificial lifeform gone wrong. The film opens on September 2, but critics have not taken it very well. "I'm not gonna remember Morgan in T-minus 1 day (Yep, already forgot it)" "B-" "55% and 67%" Official Site Rotten Tomatoes Rating: 41% - "Morgan neglects to develop its decent premise, opting instead to settle for a garden-variety sci-fi thriller with more action than ideas." Metacritic Score: 50 out of 100
  2. No, it's not a GTA movie. San Andreas is an upcoming disaster film directed by Brad Peyton (Journey 2: The Mysterious Island), starring Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson (The Scorpion King, Tooth Fairy), Carla Gugino (Lucille in Sin City, Sally Jupiter in Watchmen), Alexandra Daddario (Annabeth in Percy Jackson), Paul Giamatti (Miles in Sideways, Rhino in The Amazing Spider-Man 2), and Kylie Minogue (Cammy in Street Fighter: The Movie). San Andreas hits theaters on May 29, 2015. Official Site
  3. One of Europe's most beloved storybooks gets a new big screen treatment this year. The Little Prince is directed by Mark Osborne (Kung Fu Panda) and features the voices of Jeff Bridges (The Big Lebowski, Starman), Rachel McAdams (Irene in Sherlock Holmes, Regina in Mean Girls), Paul Rudd (Ant-Man, Brian in Anchorman), Marion Cotillard (Talia in The Dark Knight Rises, Mal in Inception), James Franco (Harry Osborn in Spider-Man 1-3, David Skylark in The Interview), Benicio del Toro (The Collector in Thor: The Dark World and Guardians of the Galaxy), Ricky Gervais (Dr. McPhee in Night at the Museum, David Brent in The Office), Bud Cort, Paul Giamatti (Limbo in Planet of the Apes, Aleksei/Rhino in The Amazing Spider-Man 2), Albert Brooks (Marlin in Finding Nemo, Bernie in Drive), and Mackenzie Foy (young Murph in Interstellar). The film premieres at this year's Cannes Film Festival this May. Official Site
  4. Long before the release of The Amazing Spider-Man, Sony Pictures Entertainment announced May 2, 2014 as the release date for the as-yet-untitled sequel. Marc Webb will return to the director's chair and Andrew Garfield has been confirmed to once again wear the mask and web shooters. Emma Stone will also be returning as Gwen Stacy. Other than that, here are some of the rumors and news bits surrounding the sequel: Production James Vanderbilt, who wrote this year's reboot, was contracted to write the sequel. However, Sony has also contracted Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman (Star Trek, Transformers) and Jeff Pinkner (Fringe, Lost) to rewrite Vanderbilt's draft. Filming has supposedly begun this month in London. Casting J. K. Simmons has expressed interest in reprising his role as J. Jonah Jameson from the Sam Raimi trilogy. Like there's anyone else who can play that role perfectly. Shailene Woodley (Amy in The Secret Life of an American Teenager, Alexandra in The Descendants) will play Mary Jane Watson, but in a very small role before getting more screen time on the third film. At least it's not Kirsten Dunst anymore. Jamie Foxx (Ray, Django Unchained) has been confirmed to play the villain Max Dillon/Electro. Dane DeHaan (Jesse in In Treatment, Andrew in Chronicle) was confirmed by Webb to play Harry Osborn. No word on Norman Osborn and whether or not Willem Dafoe will reprise his role from the Sam Raimi trilogy. According to Webb, Martin Sheen will reprise his role as Ben Parker - most likely in flashback scenes. Denis Leary had joked in one of the Blu-ray documentaries about making a petition to return in the sequel as Capt. George Stacy. More news to come in the next few months.
