Hello everyone! First time posting here after stumbling across the forum while in a Google search. Coincidentally this is only my second or so ever model kit from Macross after getting a lot of them from a friend downsizing their backlog (kits which now stare at me from my backlog, because this Wave destroid and others are in fact additions I made to the pile rather than projects I finished…) I have a good amount of experience with other models (looking at you, Bandai) but am slowly working my way to the full paint and glue requirements of most of my Hasegawa kits, so the Wave destroids, in addition to being good depictions of some of my favorite machines, are a good middle ground. Not to mention they’re more proportionally accurate than the IMAI/ARII defender/Tomahawk and not nearly as intimidating as the Moscato Phalanx that are all also in that pile. Ultimately I’m happy with how the Phalanx came out and looking forward to the Tomahawk that’s next. And since this is my first time posting, if I’ve done anything wrong or weird with the post format, please let me know!

Sentinel has announced a new line of plastic models, with the first release the Gurren Lagann. Poseability and options look great. Pre-painted chest and face included. Available for pre-order from the usual suspects. 1st release July 2020. From their blog: I participated as a staff member at the time of the original animation broadcast, Based on an arrangement by Tetsu Amemiya (TRIGGER) Designed by Chemical Attack Yoichi Sakamoto (FLAME TOYS). In the Priobot With the same shape as "RIOBOT Glen Lagann", T-REX is redesigned for Prybot. Glenn mark represented three-dimensionally, Solid shape of each part, Waist armor reminiscent of armor warriors , Like "RIOBOT Glen Lagann" The result is a plastic kit with a slightly different impression from the original design. https://ameblo.jp/sen-ti-nel-info/entry-12578460083.html

Super Dimension Foto's Patreon Page Photography is a hobby of mine. Doing Macross themed Cosplay photo shoots seems like a good idea to me. I'm starting things off with a series dedicated to Misa. This project will emulate classic imagery of character in photographs (and possible video). I picked Misa because she’s a strong female character that doesn’t get that much attention. In the future I'd like to include more characters from the series or pop culture. I've already did the first shoot. You should be able to match most of the poses up with the line art. It was simple shoot with a real model. Her name is Lee and has agreed to portay Misa for several shoots. You will see more of her and hopefully others. I ask that you don't say anything disrespectful about her/them or attempt to contact them in private with the intent to harass. I will take steps to remove you from Macross World if you do. This thread will be periodically cleaned up. Why focus on one character? It is simple economics. I like to include more characters but resources are limited. I'm going to stretch my dollar by getting the most mileage out of each character. These shoots will be primarily self-funded. On my own I can afford a modest monthly/bimonthly photo shoot. I know people that will want to see the pictures will also want to see more elaborate photo shoots with more extras like new characters. If you're willing to be a patron in supporting this project we can increase the production value. Here are 2 sample pictures. I will share 1 more every other day for a total of 5 freebies. If you want to see rest of this photo set click on the link above. (Click to see bigger) (Click to see bigger) For those that don't want to sign up for a Patreon account I will accept direct donations for each set. I can also arrange things by private request for very generous patrons. Cosplay photography isn't cheap. If you're willing to donate more to help fund things we can include your requests in a future photoset to be shared with the rest of the patrons. If you don't want to share and willing to pay for everything that can be arranged as well. Special Note: None these photo sets will be pornographic or show extreme violence. This includes private commissions. I photograph clients of all ages and that is not the type of photographer I want them to see me as. Some of the photos will be very SFW and others may border on being NSFW. If is it acceptable to a museum than it is acceptable to me.

Hi everyone! I submit, for your consideration, my proposal to re-issue my 1/48 BUSTER resin kit (Mospeada Armo-Soldier doppleganger.) I will be making some minor cosmetic improvements to the neck as well as including decals this time around. There may also be a surprise included, just because. I'm looking for 10 orders to help bring this to fruition. As per with the original issue, the kit will include all three head options. Base price is $300 CAD (about $230 USD) -$338 CAD shipped anywhere in Canada or the US -$358 CAD shipped internationally by Small Packet Air For those asking why they should get this in stead of the Evolution Toy, or any other toy variant, I will let photos speak for themselves.

Hello everyone, I'm brand spanking new to this forum but I've been reading it for a little while now and think I have enough information to formulate a post of my own. I recently decided a want a Valkyrie kit to display but I only really want one so I'm a bit torn as what would be the single one for me. My favourite variant is the VF-1J but let's be honest the A,D and S are all real great. I'd like a Gerwalk kit because that's such an iconic feature of the Valkyries and the Hasagawa kits look awesome and have the A stance. My question about those which I haven't been able to work out from photos and forum posts is whether or not the Gerwalk Hasagawa has any articulation to allow for slightly different poses. Another question is I know Hasagawa kits don't really use color molding but fortunately I've read that the Hasagawa transfers are really comprehensive so that you don't need a heap. Do you think you'd get a good effect on a model kit with just spray coats for the white and black sections, panel lining and transfers? My local hobbystore has the Milla/Max Gerwalk Hasagawa kit and I'm wondering two thinks about it. Firslty does it come with parts to make Milla OR Max or Milla AND Max? The box didn't make this clear. As well as that, since the plastic is uncolored is there anything to stop me from buying that kit and just using white coats and then transfers to make it look Hikaru's/someone elses VF-1J? I'd love to hear what people think about the various VF-1J kits or any great VF-1 kits (either Gerwalk or fighter mode). Thanks

I am interested in this VF-4 kit however I wanted to see if anyone has purchased it before? I would like to know their opinion of it, such as build time, glue used and such. Also since I can not read Japanese does anyone know what they needed to purchased for this kit? I know you have the purchase the screws...now how many of each I am unsure of. Lastly do you purchase the ball joint separately ? If s,o where do you get these from. Any opinions and help would be grateful. Thank you. http://experten.cocolog-nifty.com/blog/vf4/index.html

OK...writer I am NOT!!! Model Builder, Yes! Here she is...well the start of things anyway. Been slugging away at this wonderful model off and on for about a week...in between all other projects, life, and so on... Assembly is going well...no major issues...some - watch the bloody direction - of the parts issues... So what I figured, is if YOU my fellow builders have questions as the build develops - ask, I will answer! Let the games begin! (in the background is the Hasegawa 1/72 VT for size conparison...and yes that is the main hull of a 1/350 Enterprise A)

This is a commission piece I had AgaveCacuts and his AMAZING Talent do. It's the VF-4 Lightning III . It's my FAVORITE Valkyrie, it doesn't get a lot of respect. Since it's birth it's been kinda of obscure and I felt it was the most deserving of AgaveCacuts skills to have a nice High Poly model that Renders niiiice. You can't tell me this doesn't make you drool. I ask him to post more renders when he can he's awfully busy and I'm eternally grateful.

I recently damaged my YF-29 toy, specifically, I broke off the left arm/shoulder where it directly attaches to the main body via the L-shaped hinge. The hinge itself did not break, instead the small plastic extension that the screw goes into. Is there a glue or other bonding agent would recommend using for repair?

So we don't continue to derail the various specific project threads related to Shapeways, figured a catch-all thread for on-going discussion could be helpful. I know a lot of people are looking at Shapeways and thinking "ooh, I should try that," so a generic advice/tips thread should be helpful. We've had various tips and experiences scattered throughout individual project threads so far. If this would go better in the Models or Workshop section, anyone who has the power to do so, please feel free to make the move. I imagine Macross stuff will pop up here from time to time, but it won't be limited to that. So yeah, open discussion, teaser pics, questions, requests, anything relating to using the service itself. I'm just now learning how to set these up, so I'm expecting a lot of (possibly expensive) trial and error learning here. Decided to start with something I already had a model handy for, and just work on converting it to a kit-like format. So far, it's all built to exact fit, so I expect to either do a lot of sanding, or add tolerances into the parts. Some of you old-school computer simmers might reconignize this one. I'm setting this up for a decently large printing, and so far the parts shown there have uploaded, and haven't generated any kind of errors, so once I get the rest built I'll probably try a test printing. Wingspan is about 4 inches, so I'm expecting the length to be around 6-7 inches assembled. Cost so far is up to about $40 for what's shown, so I'll probably shrink it further for testing. I'm going to aim for 1/100 scale if it's practical, 1/144 if it gets too expensive.

Sorry if it is somewhat off topic, but this seemed the best location for it. Palladium is doing a kick starter for their Robotech mass combat game, and the models looked very nice and are in the common micro armor scale. Though you diorama folks might be interested in checking it out. http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/rrpgt/robotech-rpg-tacticstm

Encountered this amazing build by carefuldriverhongkon. at first i thought that this was not a lego model, but after a few seconds of watching it, i realized Oh My God!! It really is made of Lego. Its that amazing and of Engineering marvel that it rivals the model manufactured by Yamato... and oh... it transforms from ship mode to Battle mode too.. Heres the link

Does anyone have any suggestions on some general basic reading, guides, or links on how to get started with Bandai 1/72 snap together models? (And how to not jack them up royally) Even little tips would be appriciated. IE: tab cutting the different varieties of plastic, surfacing, minor detailing, decals, preservation, ect?

And here we are with the second epic installment of Noob Vs. Models. This threads victim will be ARII's 1/100 scale VF-1A. Now, last time with the Fan Racer, it was all about your basic masking, painting, and sanding. This time I'm going to experiment with some slightly more advanced techniques such as applying waterslide decals, panel lining, and weathering. I have on order some black Promodeller's Wash but it's about 2 weeks out. And as usual, all veteran modeller's are welcome to chime in and share their experience. Since I don't really care about this particular model I'd be more than happy to let someone else pick the paint scheme as long as it's within my abilities. So fire away with your suggestions. I personally was leaning towards the new Alaska Base scheme but we'll see. I can't actually do any priming or painting in the next couple of days because it's hailing/raining/storming out right now and last time I tried to paint after it rained I had to sand it all down, reprime, and repaint. I had no idea that was a bad thing. Oh well, lesson learned and that's what this thread is for. So this what's we'll be working with. Not to complicated, so that's good. First thing I noticed was that the nosecone could be screwed up pretty easy. The way the sprue is connected to the actual piece is going to be a pain in the turdcutter to clip and sand right. On a side note it's taken about 2 and 1/2 hours just to get this single post up because I keep getting sidetracked playing Final Fantasy V.
