  1. So season 1 just finished. After suffering through Star Trek Discovery (except for the episodes with Pike) and Picard not really feeling like Star Trek ST Lower Decks was different and fun. Sure episode one felt like it was trying too hard with all the references and Mariner and Boimler being a bit Rick & Morty but they and the cast grow on you. It started feeling like a cartoon version of The Orville, which I feel is the spiritual successor to ST after Voyager. The finale though... who the hell thought these old TNG joke aliens would be back except upgraded?! Like damn. But the kicker was when a Federation ship shows up and a few seconds later you’re like wait what why is that am I hearing what I think I’m hearing?? YES!! (Trying hard to be spoiler free) Suffice it to say I enjoyed the campy romp of STLD and I’m in for season 2.
  2. Anyone catch this on Netflix yet? It's loosely based on the Castlevania III NES video game. The characters got some nice depth and backstory to each of them, and the series upped the gore factor by about 1000 percent (Considering Dracula raises an army from the bowels of hell, those demons do some pretty graphic killings). The only con is that this first "season" is ridiculously short (clocking in at only 4 episodes long). But it's a really good series that I'm intrigued to see more of.

  6. I'd recently gotten my grubby lil hands on vol 1 of the Rurouni Kenshin graphic novel by Shonen Jump and Viz. I have to say that this is one excellent series. The mix of romantic comedy and swordwielding action make for one excellent read. I really loved the creator's blending of Japanese history with his own fiction as well as the fact that Kenshin was based off an actual person from their history. This combined with seeing The Last Samurai made December a great month in '03 for me. Bad thing is it makes me yearn to further add to my collection of samurai swords. I am, however, interested about the plausibility of Kenshin's weapon. The sakabatou, or reverse-edged sword, seems like it'd be possible to create and wield efficiently. Just from look alone, it would appear that it would weigh more than your typical samurai sword. I tried swinging my sword reversed, with the sharp edge towards me, and I could already feel the difference. Anyone's opinion on the matter?
  7. Am not a league of legends gamer, nor a netflix binge watcher. But Arcane has got me binge watching a few episodes so far. This show is a A-class example of how character animation should be approached. The facial expressions, movement all give weight and drama. And the world and scenes themselves are amazingly stylish yet, via the style, it conveys the worlds realism via shadows and highlights amazingly. Script is fantasy, steam punk but character development is well integrated without sacrificing pace. Kudos to the team for keeping me this engaged. No requirement to have played LoL to watch this show. But i do appreciate a 4K TV to show all the gorgeous imagery. 😄 whoa. sting...
  8. Coming June 19, 2015 is Inside Out, the newest Pixar film directed by Pete Docter (Monsters Inc., Up). The film takes a look at the emotions that control people. Official Site

  14. .....What is it? No cheating. A single movie, not a series (LOTR for example). I think I have to go with Aliens.
  15. Well, I was watching Cartoon Network last night and on came a commercial for Star Wars: Clone wars. I was like, that looks dope!!! Anybody seen this commercial yet? Or anybody have any more info on this? Man , I've been waiting for a star wars cartoon to come out again for like ever now. I wonder if jango fett is going to be in this or at least I hope so. 17. Two week ago Adult Swim had advertised Escaflowne will be airing on the 10th of September, so I thought they were bringing the series onto Adultswim after it was unceramoniously taken off Fox saturday morning lineup a long time ago. Anyway when I saw it took a different take on the show, the characters were all there but the way it started from beginning to end was completely different it's like a retelling of the series, in turn Mr. Kawamorii pulled a DYRL with Escaflowne. All in all I liked it, when escaflowne appeared with Hitomi in it, It looked more organic than mechanical and the characters had opposite roles than the ones in the series. If anyone who was fortunate enogh to stay awake to see it what's your take on it, yay or nay?
  18. Here's a little animation that I did using my recently completed vf-11b model. Why did I create a new thread instead of posting in the previous one? Coz I'm an attention horse. Plus I'd like to have a separate discussion on the animation alone instead of talking about the model and I plan to make more short, short sequences so I'll just dump them here. And I'm an attention horse. Spent quite a bit of time animating the individual control surfaces, although they're far from accurate coz I didn't do enough research. Comments are much appreciated! Watch it in HD too.
  19. https://www.eonline.com/news/995143/the-first-images-of-netflix-s-carmen-sandiego-are-here#photo-963839 First pics about new animated series. And yes, she's an anti-hero now...
