  3. Some progress..
  4. There are quite a few Macross and other mech related STL files via sites such as Thingiverse, Cults3D, creator's own Patreon accounts, Facebook, Etsy, and other sites. I hope this topic can act as a list/archive of links to such files as a resource for those of us with 3D printers. It should be noted that while many files are free on sites such as Thingiverse, some must be bought from the creators themselves.
  5. I finally took the dive and ordered a Cube-3D printer from Staples. Here is the link: http://www.staples.com/Cube-3D-Printer-Silver/product_201876?externalize=certona . It is a hunk of change, but prices on printers have gone down drastically since I've started following this. I also like how it's basically 3d printing for idiots and it's supposed to work right out of the box... I highly doubt it will be so though. My main interest is just to create some low polygon count scifi recreations. Has anyone experimented with 3D printing? I think I saw some Macross replacement parts on Shapeways not long ago.
  6. Here's a little animation that I did using my recently completed vf-11b model. Why did I create a new thread instead of posting in the previous one? Coz I'm an attention horse. Plus I'd like to have a separate discussion on the animation alone instead of talking about the model and I plan to make more short, short sequences so I'll just dump them here. And I'm an attention horse. Spent quite a bit of time animating the individual control surfaces, although they're far from accurate coz I didn't do enough research. Comments are much appreciated! Watch it in HD too.
  7. some models of Macross that i have made for 3d printing and assemble. the link to my page by if someone has interested. https://www.facebook.com/ermax3d/ all comments are welcome!

    YF-21 WIP

Hello all! As I promised, I hereby start my wip thread for the YF-21. There is not much done yet, but the general shape is finished (no arms and legs), I0ll start with some details by sections and I'll then focus on legs and arms. Hope this doesn't take as long to finish as my vf-1 Cheers!
  9. So a couple months ago I decided I wanted to get int 3D Printing. After tinkering a bit I wanted to do something cool. So I figured Gunpod. Been messing with Autodesk and here's what I have so far And after 12 hours of printing. The plan is to have it motorized with light and sound..... And maybe a smoke generator. I also need to thicken up the outside diameter
  10. Here's another HIGH QUALITY commission piece I AgaveCacuts had do. I must say the guy's amazing when it comes to Macross 3D Models. I have to say this model was VERY Difficult and he can attest. Landing gear and reference shots were slim to rare and for some reason it doesn't get the fan service it deserves .He's going to post more reference shots like before, he's extremely busy and he's a good friend So I present the VA-3A INVADER. The Drooling may now commence. *I choose the VA-3A model because it was the FIRST and the most realistic and TALOS did some awesome side shots which I might do later for the texture.
  11. Hey every one, I am new to the forums here and this is my frist post, so I may have this in the wrong spot. Any ways, I have been a CG artest for a very long time I love working with 3d models and making movies with them or scripting them to work in other games and such. I have been looking alllll over the internet for various models mainly from the frontier era. I was wondering if any one knew of some that I could download? the main ones I am looking for are. VF-25 fastpacks/armor pack VF-27 YF-29 ( I think it's 29 or really any models form frontier. thanks guys its a big help if anything turns out.
