Official VB-6 Koenig Monster Order Thread
Less than Super Ostrich replied to ChristopherB's topic in Model kits
Valkyrie volunteered to cast the thing after a bunch of us were looking for a kit. wwwmwww found it and that's when the project started. Valkyrie was potentially doing members on the board a favor. He got way behind for alot of reasons. All I'm saying is don't threaten to put the guy on the Black List unless you had a promise from him to deliver something at a certain date. If he doesn't return your money, then you have a reason to threaten a BL. -

Limbo, unless you were involved in this, I have a feeling that you don't know the whole story. If people have PM'd Valkyrie and found that they've not been taken care of, then that's one thing. Keep in mind that the garage kitters on MW don't do this for financial gain. They could easily make more money doing something else. They are fans that are trying to please other fans. This is not a business in the traditional sense. Ask MJ, Gundamhead, mslzz, honnemaise if they are making an appropriate profit to compensate for time away from their families and health hazards of pouring toxic resin into complex molds. -

All I can say, EXO, is that I disagree. The Black List is a threat that should not be taken lightly. -

Valkyrie is a valued member of this community. I would NOT threaten a Black List... at least until you hear his side of the story. -
Other than minmay, i have no idea who the other people are! But I must admit, Ryuji has amazing sculpting skills. Ryuji, have you ever visited planetfigure.com? It's a great spot for sculptors, but most of the people specialize in military miniatures. Still, I think your stuff would be very well received.

Kylwell... I just started my FMMF too. Did you hear "the music" when you tore open the plastic bags? I sure did. And yes... I did start it when I have 8 other projects in various stage of completion... SUE ME!! -

boooooo perfect transformation... go back to the Toy Forum! just kidding you Falcon! Seriously though.. I never understood the reasoning behind a tranforming model kit. Are you really going to transform it? And if you do, you risk major damage to the kit (at minimum the paint job). I'd rather have a nice static kit. -
Remember when ChristopherB was spear-heading that Konig Monster project? He was posting all the time. Then radio silence. His ID says he is in Iraq (is he military?). If so, the guy would have internet access or something? I just hope he's ok... I fear the worst when guy's are sent to the sandbox.

I'm not original with that... i first saw the "Aztec" paint scheme on a Battle Mode Yellow Sub on this site! -

Yep... It was my second resin kit. I didn't do a good job of filling the indentations in the thrusters (feet). And you are right about the legs. In retrospect I would recommend significant amount of planning, dry fitting, and use lots of Aves Apoxie sculpt (a modelers best friend in my opinion). One thing I'm glad I did was to pin the legs to the main fuselage. They are heavy and could risk breakage if you don't pin them. Just buy some brass rod (use a coat hanger too!) and cut about an inch or 1.5 inch section.... drill the holes in the fuselage and the legs. They will help support the leg. The ARMDs... were nicely made. The only problem was when you attached the sidewalls and sanded them down, you lost some of the panel lines. They are easily rescribed though. The engine bells are a hopeless crusade. Too much work to get them perfectly round and pretty. Still, they look ok enough, methinks! -

Here's some pics of my SDF-1. It was the G-System recast... lots of work needed on this. many warped parts and fit was horrible. -
I just ordered this... I know I know its not necessary for model building, but it really helps for scratchbuilding. At $179, its quite a deal... you save $71 and no shipping!! You also wouldn't even need to buy a dremel... just buy the flexi-shaft attachment and some bits! Dremel Scroll Station

I have all the original maquettes except for the rare Padme... and I'm not spending $500+ to get it! That includes General Kenobi in the clone trooper armor. I was thinking of doing either Mace Windu or Shaak Ti. If you are a fan of the Clone Wars anime... you know you gotta love Shaak Ti! Have you seen these yet?? http://www.rebelscum.com/tf2006/tf06-GGSanimated/default.asp -

I was almost thinking of getting as far as I can with it and then handing it over to a REAL sculptor and let them work the fine details. I'd give up the rights to it as long as I get a few copies of the final product. Ya think John would do it? He did a great job with the Zentreidi soldier. -
Which Spaceship Should You Be On?

You scored as Moya (Farscape). You are surrounded by muppets. But that is okay because they are your friends and have shown many times that they can be trusted. Now if only you could stop being bothered about wormholes. Moya (Farscape) 100% Babylon 5 (Babylon 5) 94% Galactica (Battlestar: Galactica) 81% Serenity (Firefly) 81% Millennium Falcon (Star Wars) 75% Deep Space Nine (Star Trek) 63% Bebop (Cowboy Bebop) 50% Andromeda Ascendant (Andromeda) 44% Enterprise D (Star Trek) 44% SG-1 (Stargate) 44% FBI's X-Files Division (The X-Files) 31% Nebuchadnezzar (The Matrix) 31% Im just ecstatic that Trek and SG are low on my list... I'm not a big fan of either of those. -
I'd love a 1/48th series... Sylph, Sylphid, Mave.... what a squadron that'd be!!

Looks great! Did you cannibalize another clone trooper for this (Ryuji style) or sculpt everything on your own? 373030[/snapback] I did everything by myself. I'm just playing around with figure sculpting. It's lots of fun. HWR MKII... I've never seen one of those Accurate Armor kits. I've HEARD alot about them. They aren't cheap and they have some really really interesting armor subjects. I love what you've done with those.
