  1. so let me get this straight... you added red paint on the underside of part (the notch you spoke of) of the clear forward parts (sensor lights?), and then painted smoke over the top?
  2. Looks absolutely gorgeous... i'll be first in line.
  3. Dude, I can't believe you're asking ME a modeling question. I just use some blue-tac and some masking tape. Not great, but if you seal the cockpit details with future, etc, I haven't pulled any paint off. Honestly, you should keep doing what you're doing ... because the results speak for themselves! LoL.
  4. nice job, jesse. really impressed... now on to your VF-2SS!
  5. canopy looks great... much better than if you used those decals. By the way, what is the big fascination with keeping the canopy on during the fuselage painting process... is it just easier to mask than without the canopy?
  6. You put the Phenom in Phenomenal.
  7. Big big big Congrats! Way to go. Now I guess I know someone famous!
  8. Looks great... quick question. Did you do a post shade airbrush detail on the panel lines... or did your oil wash provide that effect? Either way, I think it looks real nice.
  9. I know this is not exactly what you are looking for, but this is from the Yellow Sub recast that someone did in Model Reviews section of Macross world.
  10. Welcome Terry! Good to have you over here! Lots of content on Macross World that deserves to be shared with the starshipmodeler.com folks.
  11. looks wonderful... very impressed with the post shading. i'm sooo bad at that. the wings look great, and I'd love a close-up shot of the fuselage. I have problems with the decal shrivel too, but usually turns out ok at the end (when it finally dries).
  12. awesome! I may do the VF-4 recast or the SDF-1 Cruiser Mode. But the real question is... "WHAT WILL WM CHENG ENTER?!?" p.s. Go Cubbies... beat the Braves!
  13. well, i'm not colorblind... and it looks "fruity". Queer Eye for the Straight UN Spacy Guy.
  14. who made that real-life YF-23? That isn't the Lockheed Martin Joint Strike Fighter, is it?
  15. Thanks guys... I'll see if I can do it. Never did a mod before, so this is probably not the one to cut my teeth on. Not planning on making it removable.
  16. I was thinking of taking the old 1980's ARII 1/72 Armored Valkyrie and modifying it to fit the Hasegawa 1/72 Battroid. Is it a fruitless attempt or can it be done?
  17. I know this guy who did the model... his name is Terry and he is a really nice guy. I really liked his tips for using Epoxy instead of the clear parts. Good recommendation on the decals too! But you are right... probably needs a semi-gloss to make it come alive. Or like WMCheng likes to do... mix the semi-gloss and flats on different parts of the aircraft. Go Cats. Beat OSU.
  18. 5 PSI? Does paint even come out of the nozzle? just kidding. Sounds like that little of PSI would result in clogging, and thus splattering.
  19. pm'd ya... if the price is right, I'm in, baby!
  20. WHO's the Man?!?!? Yeah, that's right.... YOU THE MAN MASTER CHENG!!!
  21. this is just two hands, leg armor, and a gun pod? hmmm... unless this is priced attractively, I doubt I would play.
  22. not sure if I follow you... what went wrong? are you looking for advice or just venting? if its advice, i'd suggest stickier tape... worked for me. if you are venting... then i hear you man. i've messed up several models in the painting phase. i've had to strip entire models down just to start over again. by the way, i'd love to see your models. do you post on FSM or SSM?
  23. Double Tru Dat from me. That is a great custom job. Very impressive.
