  1. As much as I can say about this is... it didn't suck as much as Elektra
  2. Do I hear an offer to replicate your decals? Hmmmm? For a nice price? Hmmm?
  3. kylwell... looks great. AMAZING! I can't wait for the build up article.
  4. amen brother
  5. Photo etch are small detail bits made out of metal sheet. They do small detail bits in metal because resin/plastic just can't get that thin without breaking. Photo-etch often needs to be bent... and is generally glued on with CA (Super Glue). Personally, I hate PE, since I always lose the pieces and never can get the pieces where I want them... and i end up using too much CA and have my hands stuck together at the end.
  6. Naw... I love your table cloth. p.s. great models!!
  7. Well here is my Think 180 Studios 1/35th scale OIF Soldier. It's my third military figure ever.... (My camera doesn't do closeup very well, but you get the idea). Still needs a flat coat. The background is an unfinished building Dio. I have a TON to learn.
  8. Grayson is right... i'd recommend taking it to the PMs.
  9. Beautiful... where did you come up with for the color scheme (especially for the radome)?
  10. Are those the decals that come with the kit? I gotta check mine out.
  11. Here it is: http://www.collectaire.com/modelpages/yf23/yf23.html
  12. Hey, that's my mattress!
  13. Panel lines are GOOOOOOORGEOUS
  14. That is excellent advice. SOunds like it takes major time. I often get too anxious when I'm modeling at midnight... the only time my family lets me have my alone time. Coffee is my friend.
  15. Any good modeling options for the YF-23, David?
  16. PE or photo-etch is the bane of my existence. Actually it is very finely detailed metal parts that provide subtle details for very small parts (primarily because resin isn't strong enough or exact enough to produce these small details. Often times you have to bend the part to fit the area. My problem with them is that they often spring out of my hand and I lose them. Also glueing them is a pain since they are so small and need to be attached with Super Glue. Imagine holding one of these small pieces in a tweezer, applying the Super Glue and having the tweezers stuck together with the PE stuck there too... or it won't get off the tweezer when you are trying to apply the PE. It's horrible. Does anyone have a better way of applying PE?
  17. gorgeous custom... very nice.
  18. Grayson, Are those pre-colored PE? Or did you paint those? Either way they look great!!! I'm working on this figure right now for a diorama I'm doing. (P.S. this is not my picture)
  19. Have you folks ever seen the Nova special "Battle of the X planes"? It is a great documentary about the contest for the Joint Strike Fighter. It was really neat to see how these two companies (Boeing and Lockheed) tried to do some completely different things when designing a plane. I know it is a different contest than what we are discussing here... but it is really worth seeing.
  20. fernando... any update on your gerwalk beauty? Another post up there just reminded me of your project.
  21. It is the Captain Cardboard X-wing with a few improvements. Much better casting than what Atom Models was doing, IMHO. Mike made some improvements on the Wing Mounts. I believe you can find a detailed description of the differences on this website: http://www.blockheadpictures.com/CCX-Wing.html
  22. Repeat after me... There is only one X-wing... the Studio Scale X-wing from Salzo Models. There is only one X-wing... the Studio Scale X-wing from Salzo Models. There is only one X-wing... the Studio Scale X-wing from Salzo Models. There is only one X-wing... the Studio Scale X-wing from Salzo Models.
  23. Zero dollars... Transforming models stink. just kiddin'
  24. That's my high school physics teacher, Mr. Wong.
