I'm glad someone else buys from gundamstoreandmore . I live 40 minutes from their warehouse and they were kind enough to let me stop by twice last year to pick out a few kits. I find their prices to be nice as well compared to some other online stores. They are a bit slow in getting the newer stuff in though... but once they do get it in: you name the kit, they'll probably have it.

Cool... I think I needed to drink more than XD. Regarding the cracks, leaks, "erosions," etc... that was the first thing that came to my mind as well. If true, than it makes for a much more interesting writing angle. The fact that Galactica now has a few structural issues is not particularly interesting, the whole ship is pretty beat up by now.

I watched this while really hammered, so here is a question:

Isn't this spring (April to be precise) the big 3, 0 for Gundam? Three decades of destruction... with that in mind I'm sure there is going to be a new series announcement right around the time 00 comes to an end. Unicorn seems like a possible candidate, though I'm hoping it's something entirely original.

Thanks for the super detailed response David. On this pic, I was referring to the "blue" that surrounds the intake, and yea, I didn't notice there were in fact two tones of blue. It's quite an interesting paint choice they got going here... and almost every F-2 photo I've seen brandishes those colors.

I realized today that I'm suffering from 1/72 VF-25 "Burnout"... glad I'm taking a break from these kits until super pack release XD.

To my knowledge what's been broadcasting on SciFi is S1, I watched a few when they started broadcasting it late last year. The dub voice acting is ok... I feel that Sumeragi's voice is a bit off though, doesn't fit her personality... makes her sound a lot older.

As a tangent to continuity, one reason BSG has been so successful imo is that Moore et al had a definite plan on how to start, develop, and most important END the series. Because this is insider information, I don't know for sure, but at the least there was an attempt to plan a definitive finale instead of just dragging it on season after season until the cow was milked dry, which is why this is the last season, though with its immense popularity it could have gone on longer. That is the essence of telling a good story, and it beats some quickly pieced together ending to wrap up a show that has been abruptly canceled cough Enterpr cough.

Unfortunately, I'll be keeping this model in battroid permanently. I've heard too many transformation horror stories for this kit so not going to risk it . When the super-packs come out I'll be building a fighter/gerwalk... similar but slightly different colors XD.

... Skill Level 4 ZOMG! ... I think I remember seeing the commercials where a bunch of people came on and said, "Level 4.... 20 hours." This was in 1999/2000 I think, when Wing was being broadcast in the US. I feel prehistoric now.

Yes... I forgot to fold in the stabilizers on the legs XD. I decided to locked this guy into battroid mode. I'll build a fighter-mode only when the 1/72 super-pack bundle comes out. Although I'm generally satisfied with the end product, I hated every moment of the actual kit construction... I definitely put this a step up in difficulty compared to standard Master Grade fare. The colors were inspired from various sources. In the game EVE Online, some Caldari (my faction) Tech-2 ships have that menacing black+red two-tone. Also the Masurao from Gundam 00 was another more direct source of inspiration. Finally, here it is standing next to chunkie for those interested in either the kit or the DX and in need of a direct side by side comparison. EDIT: Camera was misbehaving this morning so uploaded a fresh batch of pics XD.

I'm willing to wager on the following sequence of events: -So we already know next eps... Galactica vs. Rebel Base Star. A lot of Viper vs. Viper vs. Rebel Raider pew pew.... Madame President gets tough and orders nukes pointed at Galactica, Gaeta/Zarek order Galactica to do likewise... tense Mexican standoff. -The ol' "We will flush tsomeone out the airlock if you don't stand down bla bla bla". -OH NOEZ Dradis lights up, and Cavil arrives with "teh real" Cylons, hilarity ensues. -The traitors in the CIC fail at command, so Gaeta brings the old man and tigh back. -Galactica and fleet narrowly escape... Gaeta commits suicide, Zarek goes into hiding. The End

I probably typed my last response too soon. Veda/A-Laws will probably photoshop the video-feed and claim that Hank et al & Katharon & Celestial Beings brought down the elevator, thus firmly putting public opinion on their side.

I like the promise of some massive mecha-pr0n coming up in next eps, but the whole Memento Mori V2.0 firing at the orbital elevator is a bit too simplistic for me... A-laws is acting evil because they have to... . Although the thought of simultaneously taking out Ptolemaios, Katharon, and Hercules is tempting... they're willing to blow up a WHOLE FRACKING orbital elevator (of which only 3 exist) to accomplish their goal. The cost benefit/analysis of bringing down a structure that stretches several km's into space in exchange for absolute victory is a bit off.

I am now having vague recollections about seeing this show when I was little, though dubbed in spanish . Does it have a "plane mode" as well?

2-For the priming, I honestly just included in the step for correctness sake... 50% of my kits are not primed actually . The idea is that basically you want a layer of "primer" so that the layer of actual paint you want sticks and clings more easily to the surface. But when I do prime I use Tamiya Surface Primer, which coats the parts in a nice neutral gray color prior to applying actual paint. 3-As for the brush painting, I have very little experience in this area, I mostly just manually brush very small areas or parts and for touch-ups in case paint gets damaged in the assembly process... and for larger areas stick to airbrushing... but traditional brushing can be done, but some sort of spraying is better XD. The VF-25 (both) actually looks great even without a drop of paint. If you browse through the 1/72 vf-25 model thread in the model kit section you will find lots of awesome looking kits that are pretty much just panel-lined, decaled/or stickered, with almost no paint. 4-For the gloss layer, I was referring to clear-gloss. So it's basically a transparent paint with glossy characteristics. 5-If you're using some sort of wash solution for the panel lines I'd advise doing the lining first, then decal. You will be wiping off wash errors as you go along so don't want to accidentally tear off a decal. I use a Sumiree Gundam Marker which is kinda the same thing as a wash but a bit less messy.

I'd agree that the designs are not remarkable, but they don't all suck . The Masurao would look absolutely awesome if they shaved a few meters off those massive antennae . Though the 00V mobile suits are awesome beyond words:
