  1. /sigh, I wish Adult Swim had more anime, I missed the days when they would broadcast it on their weekday lineup. There was a point where Eureka & Blood+ was aired on an almost daily basis. Aside from Robot Chicken I just don't see how their original-creations are supposed to be their more profitable products. ATHF was ok, but Metalocalypse and Super-Jail are so macabre... is it supposed to be funny or geared towards people who enjoy seeing poorly animated acts of violence? Robot Chicken on the other hand I really like .
  2. I guess the time it airs here in the US brings back too many galactica memories, hence the association BSG sets yet another standard: now any show tha airs at around that time on a Friday night must be fracking awesome.
  3. Working on this now... will disassemble today for massive amounts of putty-ing, sanding, and painting.
  4. Watched it last night, definitely: Star Gate Galactica, but it was entertaining enough to keep watching, at least until Caprica rolls around.
  5. I admit my new Thursday night guilty pleasure is watching Special Ops Mission This is supposedly an unscripted "war-game" scenario where one special ops guy goes and completes some specified objective while being opposed by a team of 4 or 5. He's like a real life Solid-Snake.... minus the nano machines and boss fights. Of course, I find the unscripted part hard to believe, based on some of the stuff that happened on missions my small intestine tells me some parts were heavily scripted indeed. But it is mildly entertaining. I wish they used some weapons other M-16/M-4's, since I the simunition matches a 5.56 round, then why not also use FAMAS or G-36? That, and I like Fringe.
  6. Alicia vs Selvaria "The Rematch" was a bit more dramatic in the anime. I don't like how the battle in the fortress was handled in the game mainly because: a) it was a frustrating mission as Selv has an incredible evade rate and that machine gun could tear any infantry unit to pieces easily... I ended up sacrificing 4 shock troopers with flamethrowers (kiiiiil iiit with fire!) and 1 lucky undodegable volley from Alicia to beat her. b) we don't get to control Alicia in her Over-9000 mode . I finally finished the game last night though, it will be interesting to see how the final rescue scene is played out as Leon is just not in the anime at all.
  7. Yea I left out 2000, and all of the server products for that matter. I realize many people ran 2000 on standalone devices, but from what I've gathered Microsoft ultimately branded the 2000 as more of a "business OS" and let 98SE and ME be their "home" desktop product. Well, the list itself I admit is highly subjective and biased towards my own personal usage lol. I struggled a lot with 95 but I suspect now a lot of it was due to my own inexperience. A more accurate view would have been 98: fail but 98SE: pure win. As late as 2003, my main rig was still running 98SE until it was finally supplanted by XP.
  8. I look forward to seeing the Valkyria Chronicles finale. It's been an interesting 2 weeks as I've been grinding away at the game as the last few episodes are aired. I really enjoyed some of the changes in the anime. On the one hand, both Welkin and Faldio are developed in greater detail in the anime. In the game, Welks is pretty uni-dimensional and has almost no reaction after and Faldio is a generic plot advancement device. On the other hand, the anime pretty much does zero justice to the secondary characters. If I didn't play the game I wouldn't have realized that Marina is a deadly sniper . Also, anime version Hans > game Hans hands down.
  9. Windows is like Star Trek, in that it follows an alternating win/fail pattern: 3.1: Win 95: Fail 98SE: Win ME: Epic Fail - went back in time to rescue the whales XP: Somewhat Win Vista: Epic fail @ launch 7 - JJ Abrams reboots teh series omg Star Trek 90210 faaabolous.
  10. I'm restarting To watch To Aru Majutsu... hopefully done just in time before Railgun.
  11. Lol the site posted by sketchley is awesome... Word Processor Computer! but wait..... COMES WITH additional external hard drive omg XD.
  12. Oh, but it is. Excerpt from Episode 27: Shaka, now captain of the Space Homeland International Team aka S.H.I.T. universal exploration adventerous squad slowly recovered consciousness after being knocked out. His ship, the spear, dived unexpectedly into a black hole. Sparks were flying everywhere. "Status report!" yelled the seasoned warrior. "Shields are down. Engines are at 50% output. Armo-mode transformation system offline... Captain Shaka we are being hailed." - the engineer replied "Main screen turn on." Shaka was shocked at the person trasnmitting the message. An aged gentleman in a neatly pressed military uniform greeted him. "Hello gentleman, how are you? I am Rick Hunter...." "NO... U R NOT RICK HUNTER, U R HARUHI SUZUMIYA!" (dramatic music plays while the TO BE CONTINUE logo flashes across the screen).
  13. I actually saw bits and pieces of Shaka Zulu lol. It is definitely one piece that is ripe for remake..... Heavy amounts of mentally retarded plot to follow: SHAKA 3000 - TO SPACE AND BEYOND It will follow the adventurers of a poor fisherman who was enslaved by the evil alien from the Andromeda Galaxy Dr. Tran. One day, he discovers a quadrillion kt mega-ore that would sell for billions of space credits, but yep, Dr. Tran wants it, so Shaka (who happens to be a descendant of the legendary Zulu leader) buries it and escapes where he meets up with a mercenary from the United Star Federation, aka the USF. And yea... the mercenary wants the ore too, so they travel for a few days, kill some bad guys, find the ore and at the last moment the merc betrays Shaka, but not before being wounded himself. In his dying breath he returns the stone to Shaka and helps him escape. Somewhere in between Dr. Tran is speared to death. He then assembles a team of like minded individuals and travels the galaxy of adventure. (I can think of the perfect source material to plagiarize it from too!)
  14. Yea.... they even got some top-name stars like Jessica Biel and Jammie Fox to re-eneact some generic dramatic sequences.
  15. Lol the "F-19" looks like the Talon from Turkish Top Gun aka "Stealth".
  16. I still have Vol1 & Vol2 Mac+ Soundtrack CD's sitting around lol. Reading this thread made me want to listen to them . In all honesty I wouldn't rate the songs as great, the variety was "great" though. The tracks performed by the Israeli Philharmonic were awesome though. Though I'd rate Turn A Gundam's "Moon" as my favorite YK composed song .
  17. Aside from commonwealth forces stationed in England during WW2, I'm pretty certain Polish pilots sortied from English airfields long after their homeland were rolled over by the Blitz. I forget the name of the squadron but circa Battle of Britain it was a polish squadron with the highest number of air to air kills.
  18. I always got the "we are better" vibe from TNG - though it was mostly because I analyze things too deeply. I can distinctly remember many times when the Enterprise-D was hailed by some unknown civilization and were asked to identify themselves, and Picard would say "human." The poducers/writers were just lazy probably. Saying, we are a federation of planets composed of x group of species, is like 11 more words. DS9 on the other hand I liked better particularly because it threw the sci-fi political correctness/utopia garbage out the door and put its characters in rather nasty, hateful situations doing things that you wouldn't think of a nice starfleet officer doing.
  19. I'm rewatching a great series called Gasaraki. Towards the final months of the 20th century it got lost with all of the metaphysical ganking induced by Evangelion. Also, to date I feel it has one of the most realistic mechs ever.
  20. Epic win. 11.5/10
  21. The next Robotech trilogy should adapt the following shows into 1 semi-cohesive package: 1) Strike Witches 2) K-On! 3) Macross 7 (cuz we need a Macross in there somewhere to continue the tradition)
  22. Or the SDF-3 has traveled back in time circa-1980's, where in Dark Tower fashion they meet up with the actual Tommy Yune and Frank Agrama and convinced them to pen the story known as Robotech to prevent the destruction of their parallel universe by the Asian Warlord Shoji "Da Troll" Kawamori (who turns out to be the leader of the Haydonites). HG and the forces of good prevail during an epic battle in a remote pacific island fought by transforming combat lawyers. The Big West Macross timeline is thus erased from history forever. 15 years later Al Gore becomes President of the United States.
  23. On that note, it's really sad that his most famous student only outlived the master by about 1 year.... but it sounds like it's a good film. According to my friend it's at least chronologically accurate, as opposed to Fearless which took a lot of creative liberties with the history.
