The fact that her character is suspect-Yuri is A+ for me ... but the eps ending was a bit anticlimactic. WoW! It can fly through a sun, I wonder if it can transform into a giant mecha too.

The links are probably broken because dalong.net uses the most atrocious site design tool known to XHTML (frames): Here is the link to the normal PG of GP01: http://dalong.net/review/pg/p08/p08_p1.htm Or just go to the main page and navigate there: http://dalong.net But it's a great site

Macross references in other anime
Ghost Train replied to dreamweaver13's topic in Movies and TV Series
The wording, conviction, and tone of those words was definitely a reference to Macross (Really have to hear it as a sc cannot do it justice) Also.... 5 minutes earlier: The anime is Kämpfer, best fracking series this fall! -
I fear that someone will release a 1:1 scale version of Alto's paper airplane before we see this .

As a point of fact, somehow Airwolf defeating fighter jets, breaking the sound barrier, and flying to space just doesn't do it for me anymore.

Anyone else liked the movie "Behind Enemy Lines"? I just realized that every time it's on, I have to watch it through. The scene where the F-18 tries to beat 2 SAM's is just very slickly done - the movie has just the right combination of character, special effects, and story. This was at the height of the matrix bullet time OMGSLOWMOTIONIZAWESOME era, but the visuals in behind enemy lines, although borrowing heavily from the bullet time concept, never felt cliche'd and overused.

Btw, I loved the Family Guy rendition of the A-team (when Brian goes back to college), it was pure brilliance! I hope the van is vintage 80's... not some modern brand. Unfortunately, the vehicle has (d)evolved from useful utility vehicle to soccer practice transportation in the time since the A-team last aired.

I dunno what is sadder, a demographic obsessed with giant robots, or one obsessed with moeblobs playing musical instruments.

The Transformers 2 Thread--A Michael Bay thread
Ghost Train replied to areaseven's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
The only good thing to come out of TF2 was "New Divide" and even that sounds like every other Linkin Park song. The fact that it's played like every 15 minutes will soon add this to the list of sh!tstains associated with the franchise. -
Yes, they are AKO Conversions... with a few modifications. The left is the GM Sniper conversion, and the right is the GM Spartan. For the Spaaaaartan, I used the legs from the MG Nemo. I wanted to make it look more like the GM's from 0080. Unfortunately, I lost some of my WIP pieces for the gun as I was moving to a new place at the time, as such the rifle/shotgun/whatever is incomplete .

Strike A Pose! V.4 - The Macross Mech Pose Thread
Ghost Train replied to JCSaves's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
It's been about a year since I started trolling posting on this site - so I decided to finally post a pic of my one and only VF-1. Well, actually, I am helping a friend of mine with a project that requires some digital photography skills (which I lack) so this was a convenient excuse for me to photograph some of my toys. -
VE-1 looks so sexy, unfortunately I have to wait until end of November

What Current Anime Series Are You Watching? v2.0
Ghost Train replied to Duke Togo's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
I am watching Kämpfer. Nope... no blue dual wielding shotgun mobile suits here.. Thin on Plot. Heavy on Fanservice. Heavy on Yuri. But the humor is good , or perhaps my brain is so mush that it seems funny even though it's utterly retarded. Also watching Railgun. -
Braveheart just doesn't do it for me anymore... too cliche, and after we found out about "the real" Mel Gibson it really diminishes his previous work... er, ok, almost went into MWF No-Fly-Zone there . I would also like to add the multitude of Fate Stay Night endings to my list. 1) Manly tears of sadness where shed when Saber just vanishes after the "there is just one thing left to say... I love you" line, and then she goes back to her time to die. 2) Epic tears of awesomeness, when at end of UBW, when G-archer has a heartfelt conversation with Rin, and we briefly see Emiya as archer. 3) Manly tears of happiness were shed in the Realta Nua final final final ending when Shirou wakes up in what seems to be the afterlife and finds Saber waiting for him

Whats the next macross series?
Ghost Train replied to Thai Boxer 9901's topic in Movies and TV Series
I think the Yuri love rectangle is more popular now: 1) Man A likes Woman B 2) Woman B likes Woman C 3) Woman C likes Man A 4) Man A is actually a woman... wait wut? -
I'm about 1/2 way through the series, I finished Wizard and Glass last week. Started reading the series in 2004, but then read the spoiler to the last book, and was like "Omgwtf I'm not gonna read the rest." Recently, I have decided to finish reading the series after all.
