  1. I thought that the whole time-travel thing was going to launch the show into an "Endless Eight: Star Gate Edition." .... fortunately, it doesn't seem like they will go in that direction .
  2. For me, one of the biggest minuses of the DX VF-25 was the ultra-glossy surface.
  3. Stone & Parker are a bit hypocritical in my opinion. They love to make fun of Hollywood's extreme left-leaning tendencies and how it contrasts with their own excessive wealth... yet they achieved their fame and fortune pretty the same way.
  4. I wouldn't catalog HG/MG Gundams as being particularly durable either. They are far more durable than a traditional model kit, but they will wear and tear faster (from my own vast experience) than a dedicated figure/toy. If you paint and decal them... well you know what I'm getting at.
  5. Yea, the Brazil level I have strong dislikes for. It seems like they were trying to recapture some scenes from various recent (and not so recent) movies. The Favelas level might have been to evoke the chase scene from The Hulk which also takes place in the slums. And of course, the showers assault in the Gulag is kinda like the Rock... But anyways, I didn't expect any incredible story from the game, it is after all just a game about tough guys with English accents running around with an M-4.
  6. Wings on a horse? That's ridiculous.... let's make it a flying donkey so we can slip in a moral lesson about being ugly and useless yet still being able to succeed if it tries its best!
  7. I hope Medusa gets a more er... modern remake as opposed to the traditional snake-hair head. Type-Moon did an awesome job with Medusa (aka Rider): The whole turn-to-stone look thing is supposed to be metamophorical anyways, what I'm trying to say is that they shouldn't pass up on a chance to put more fanservice on screen.
  8. So it's been nearly 1 year since Bandai has started releasing Frontier related merchandise with the 1/72 scale VF-25's. Oooh, the debates on the initial chunky images of the DX VF-25 had first emerged, and Bandai/Yamato fanboys cried and cheered! ... Those were good times, fond memories of seeing grown men argue about the accuracy of toys... anyways, Bandai has had a chance to prove itself in making valkyries, what do you guys think? Here is my opinion: > 1/72 VF-25s Model: Epic Win. Sleek, overall consistent with line-art, lots of customization options with custom decal sets. > 1/60 VF-25s DX: Mixed Achievement. The chunkiness and overall toy-like appearance obviously was a minus, but the DX had a hint or durability that the models simply did not posses. > VF100's: Fail fail fail fail fail fail fail fail. > Side-VF: A bit too early to tell, but with expectations set on being a non-transformable action figure with high poseability, it will probably have greater success than the VF100. Again, the issue here is slight amounts of chunkiness. Edit: I give Bandai an overall B- score.
  9. I hope Mazinger Z makes a cameo. IN TEH NAME OF ZEUS!
  10. Forgot: vs. 2012 space meteor vs. Kanye "IM GONNA LET U FINISH" West vs. Mega Shark vs. Giant Octopus vs. Cloverfield Monster vs. Sarah "HI2U RUSSIA" Palin
  11. Just finished MW2 campaign... it was sooo short! But it was loads of fun. And lol @ the cliffhanger ending >_< .
  12. Said storyline could involve a master-thief who is tasked with stealing 100 Zentradi pantsu in 12 hours. When the operations begins: "You think we'll make it?" "... I don't know, it's too early to tell." ... and I marvel at how quickly this thread has turned into a discussion on undergarments again
  13. Building upon the slice-of-life idea I previously mentioned, I feel it's necessary to introduce some sort of villain into the show. It won't be a villain in the traditional sense (Zentradi, Char, etc.) but more like a misunderstood character. She will only be known as "The Black Rose." Once a sweet cute looking girl from the Macross 7 colonization fleet and sole supporter of Fire Bomber, she became increasingly disillusioned from repeated failed attempts to give a bouquet to that commie-hippie-tree-hugger Basara. She joins UN Spacy and becomes a valkyrie pilot, but is dishonorably discharged by punching her CO, who happens to love Fire Bomber. She now roams the worlds of the NUNS domain promoting her reactionary anti-peace and anti-music views....
  14. I don't think you're a "bad person"... but there is just something wrong with that sentence. A "hint of ethnicity" .... lol? So what is that supposed to imply: that caucasian is like the main standard and any deviation from that constitutes: "ethnicity" ? But like I said, it's probably just poor sentence construction. I hope.
  15. I really hope Olmos doesn't follow up on his threat offer of doing a post-Earth landing movie... given the lukewarm reception of the plan, it would be nice if they could just punctuate the whole story arc. I mean what is the story going to be like, "OH NOEZ TEH NATIVE EARTH PEOPLE are attacking us!"
  16. Given the current state of anime and the general decline of mecha except for some key franchises I would predict the next show to contain zero combat, zero hostile aliens, and no valkyries. It will be slice-of-life and take place on a pretty mundane colonization fleet. It will be about 5 moeblobs (five, because it's a prime number) who go about their daily lives doing stupid things and saying stuff just to sound cute. They play musical instruments... oh, and there needs to be some alien pet. Ranka makes a cameo. She is now past her prime, fat and ugly. Sheryl won. The end.
  17. My buddy went to the one last evening here at a local GS. ... I would have picked up my pre-order by now, if I didn't have 2 exams, 3 assignments due, and a 1.5 day long interview on Th/Fri >_< ... but looking forward to the weekend I guess.
  18. Reposting my gashapon math: Since there are 17 possible toys with only 12 slots (assuming you buy the full set), the probability that you will get the valkyrie you want is 51.67%. 1) Probability that a Given Slot does not have what you want: 16/17 = .9412 2) Probability that all 12 slots will not give you what you want: (.9412)^12 = .4833 3) Therefore, the "opposite" of step 2 is the probability of getting the valkyrie you want: 1 - .4833 = .5167 mellow.gif Of course I'm making the assumption that there are equal amounts of each model made, and the process of slotting the toys is truly random.... which is a big assumption. So you have roughly a 1 in 2 chance of getting a specific model.
  19. /Rubs eyes, ... is that a GN-U VF-1J low vis??
  20. Modern Warfare 2 release trailer: Interesting stuff... a spacewalk? ... and what appears to be full-scale war on US soil? (though the previous trailer hinted at that)
  21. That's an interesting comparison, though I would compare General Galaxy to Lockheed Martin, which truly has its hands in almost everything from the Orion space craft to a number of jets including the F-16/F-22 (which was acquired from the divestiture of a division of General Dynamics). They also have a consulting and services industry that accounts for 1/3 of their revenue.
  22. Alien & Aliens were more horror than sci-fi, but both in healthy doses in my opinion. Aliens 3 was a bit too much horror, and Resurrection was a bit too scifi... it's my highly subjective view anyways. AvP was pure garbage.
  23. According to NgeeKhiong, 11.16 http://ngeekhiong.blogspot.com/2009/11/ban...chedule_05.html
  24. lol, the official song for this movie should be I'm on Boat.
