I would pay $ for THAT to blog Astro Plan. They did Macross F, SDF Macross, and now Zero is ongoing .

I liked VIII. The more I think about it, it's my most favorite FF of the PSX trio of 7, 8, and 9. It was nice to see a happy ending after the epic but inconclusive (at that time) finale of 7. The characters were a bit 1-dimensional, but can be forgiven in light of a somewhat interesting and creative story, breaking the mold by using the draw system, and the interactive summon system. I also tend to like the steam-punk setting more so than the fantasy medieval ones. My two favorite epic cs was the carousel sniper sequence, and of course when Laguna reveals himself in the main timeline.

Oh dear lord rofl, I hate retards who do that - I meet one of these idiots on the expressway almost every single day. I'm part of the elite 1% of the Michigan population that believes in following the law and try to obey the speed limit, which for the expressway is 70mph... quite generous compared to other places.... Anyways, I sometimes very very gently tap once on the brake (not hard enough to slow the vehicle down) so that they can see my damm brake-light as communicating to the car behind you is what I guess it was originally designed for - but they never get the idea or understand what I mean. Eventually, just like you describe, like 10 minutes later they pass. I've noticed lately that most people who do this are also yapping away on the cell phone, hence probably too distracted to figure out that there is less than 1m clearance between his front bumper and the rear of my vehicle and that we're both doing 70 mph. -
What exactly is discussed in a RT panel given the dearth of new material >_> ?

I think it's awesome that EVE's lore and history is predominantly written by the player actions, and said history is as rich as any established franchise - with epic events like The Great Northern war that involved thousands of ships and untold financial losses, and Goonswarm (gaming arm of Something Awful) skillfully dissolved BoB alliance. Wish I had started playing sooner.... EVE does have its own NPC back-story which was fleshed out about a year and a half ago. In the past, all the starting NPC states were basically in a non-aggression truce, but an expansion soon put all of the major NPC nations at war with each other, giving newer players a taste of PvP and epic fleet battles. It's truly a sandbox and that's why I love it, and don't see myself going to STO. If you want to be a miner, there are dedicated mining ships and skills, if you want to be a pirate be a pirate, if you just want to run PvE missions all day you can do that - it's true freedom. The idea of just playing 1 faction, like Federation or Klingon is too restricting - but I guess STO was designed for people who love the lore... in contrast EVE is like RDM Battle frackin Star Galactica where everyone can frack anyone.

Wow wtf, that's almost exactly the same system, even has a larger HD. I'll have to go home and check it more carefully. Thanks for the tip! -
(Assuming it's true). Things should be judged by their internal quality and whether or not you yourself liked a series - and not by sales figure . If sales alone were a factor, I would say that in the 1990's Brittney Spears was the most talented artist of the time or that Gundam 00 was the best Gundam AU ever because of the sheer overwhelming number of kits Bandai has pumped out.

I think mileage is not an issue on your vehicle. Here in the US, people put on average 12,000 miles per year - so over 10 years 120k miles, that translates to 193,121 km, so you're definitely on the low end of usage... but driving habits might differ substantially in Europe as over here in Midwest US we have like no public transportation at all. Road condition and infrastructure also plays a huge factor. Here in Detroit the roads are terrible (ironic isn't it), pot-holes everywhere, they patch them every year and summer is a mess to drive around because of the road construction.... but a few months later all the holes return again. I wonder if they use whip cream to patch the holes. As such, the lifetime of a vehicle is much reduced. -
See equation 2 below for the formal mathematical definition of Robotech: Where t is the passage of time, and S1, S2, and S3 are constants corresponding to the awesomeness of the original series. Tb is the Tobey Maguire factor.... this is the RT fanbase perspective anyways. MWF members would flip the denominator and numerator . As a sidenote, equation 1 is explained here. The popularity of current anime is defined by: m = moe constant t = Tsundere modifier and the integral of the Yuri interaction function Y(t). ... G is just Newton's gravitational constant.

Considering getting a laptop for the following uses: General Office Productivity stuff (office, etc.), Running Apache/MySQL for development (not permanent hosting), dilly-dallying (macross world forums), and casual gaming... doesn't have to run Crysis at OMG1000FPS - mostly for CounterStrike Source, some early 2000's FPS like Far Cry I, anything HL2 related, EVE Online, and FFXI. I was playing around with Dell customization, and I seem to like the XPS-16, any thoughts on this? XPS 1640, Intel Core 2 Duo T6600 (2.2GHz/800MHz FSB/2M L2Cache) 4GB, DDR3, 1067 MHz 2 Dimm forXPS 1640 ATI Mobility RADEON M96XT - 1GB 250GB 7200 RPM SATA Hard Drive Windows 7 Home I heard that cooling is an issue with Dell laptops, but I have a Belkin cooling pad, which has supposedly achieved a -5 deg C reduction in internal temperature (annecdotal). Another point is that I'm not traveling with this machine, the most it'll ever commute is from the home office to the living room so size and battery are not super-important considerations. I'm getting quoted USD 1050 for this setup.... it kinda sounds like a good deal, but I've been out of the loop for a while. So what do you guys think, yay or nay? -

I think Van Damme should play the master chief for the Halo Movie that will never be made. Split in a Mjolnir armor... -

I used to have the same opinion about Open PvP, but I think it's the best way to keep people in line. In PvE or limited-PvP environments when someone rips you off, sullies your reputation, or does something generally "bad" to you or your buddies your only recourse is to go to a forum and start arguing and flaming away. With Open-PvP the avenues of justice and retribution are endless. In EVE, I have this friend who is not really a combat-type but was more interested in the industrial (mfg/mining) part of the game. For a few weeks he noticed this guy was intentionally trying to undercut him and drive him out of the system and reduce his income. He was not a combat type and our corp was not willing to declare war on the other corp, so he hires a mercenary corporation to war dec the undercutting guy. By the end of the week, his opponent was in tears - as the mercs blew up his 1 billion ISK faction battleship, and pretty much set him back considerably. You can still behave badly in a sandbox environment, just be wary that retribution is just around the corner . ... PvE MMO's on the other hand, you're pretty much powerless. Also lol @ comments about paying subscription fees - another reason to play EVE. You can use in-game money to buy game time, which is sold by players who need game-currency. Hence they have solved the problem of paying subscriptions and people illegally purchasing in-game currency in 1 blow by creating a way to legally accommodate these needs. But you can pay normal subscriptions if you want.

Those were the rather mild G-gundam designs. Here are a few personal favorites: (... so stereotypical, so wrong, yet so hilarious) DUTCH GUNDAM.... FRACK YEA!!!1!!!

The idea of everyone commanding their own ship makes sense. Although a nice team-based mechanic where you have 1 ship crewed by say 5 actual players as Engineering Chief, Helmsman, Captain, etc would be a pretty neat idea on paper on how to design a nice coop-styled pve grinder, it will fail horribly in actuality. Everyone wants to be the captain of the Enterprise or Chief Tactical officer so they can pew pew... anyone want to be chief engineer, medical officer, or transporter chief lol? It would pretty much wind up like other MMO's, when you want to start a group or party but you're missing the 1 critical piece like the healer or debuffer, so you waste 5 hours looking for one and the nerd's night out is ruined.

Meh judging from all I have seen , I'll stick to eve online, sto just looks like 1 giant pve fest with fanboys dressed up in their uniforms at home . No great potential for epic player drama, which is what makes mmo's great.

And it is discovered that Shoji Kawamori is the 987th Grand Master of the Troll Templar Order (TTO), a sub-faction of the powerful Illuminati who secretly control the political and financial reigns of the global order. The TTO has set into motion its ultimate plan to eradicate the last remaining rebel resistance group - Harmony Gold, which itself is a breakaway faction of the NWO. The stage has been set for the final battle between good and evil fought in a remote pacific island through the use of transforming combat lawyers. A three way mayhem between HG, the templars, and the "Chinese faction". .... Who will survive?

That's right.... proactive vs reactive! MWF is always ready. -
Agreed. But unfortunately there is still this pervasive colonial attitude inclined towards grouping all Chinese people together as 1 big collective group of copycats, criminals, and generally untrustworthy people. As such, attention in the media is detracted away from the thousands of actual honest and globally competitive corporations run predominantly by Chinese in HK, Singapore, Taiwan, and entrepreneurs in Euro/NA. The great philosopher Chris Rock explains it best (NSFW): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ui6-Wc0PDc4 (Replace Black with Asian) A few rotten apples spoil the bunch.
