Explanation for amplified mammary gland visualization: - The core RT fanbase was in their early teens, but mentally aged in the 5 to 10 range. - Now, they're in their late 20's and 30's, but mentally, 12 years old. RTS is a more mature tale that appeals to an audience that has aged considerably during the long absense of the franchise.

All Things Video Games Thread: II
Ghost Train replied to Wanzerfan's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
CounterStrike: though I've not gone back to this in 6+ months! Galactic Civilizations 2 EVE Online: left and quit like 3 times now, currently in quit status... debating reactivating account. Final Fantasy XI: also left and quit a few times, there was a recent worlds-merge so I think the game's days are numbered. -
This is also one complaint I have about the show. I think it is possible to discuss the weapons, training, and cultural aspects of each combatant in a more professional manner (I mean one of the hosts is a doctor ffs lol). I cringe a little bit every time Jeoff (sp?) yells: "<Insert Violent Verb> IT UP!!!!" right before a demonstration. Also, Dr. Armand seems to really enjoy the action despite the fact that his profession requires a "do no harm" oath. Sure, it can be argue that the study of pointy things help advance medicine, but it would be better to have more of a Dr. House rather than a Dr. Nick, which is what he currently sounds like) analyzing the damage. The professionalism of the demonstrators is also so-so. On one extreme we had the ex-special ops guys like the demonstrator for the Spartans who knew their sh!t, did their stuff, and kept the smack at a muted level... then we have the Zande "blood-drinking" guy (I have to admit, that was epic lolz, good showmanship).

Twilight fans have feelings too you know , this is about as insulting as calling the franchise teen-harry potter... maybe more .

So last evening was the highly controversial matchup of SS vs VC. It was a pretty interesting showdown (lol I liked the constant reminders throughout the show: They are both bad mmmkay? ). The flamethrower demo was pretty sick, I'm surprised by how compact the whole unit looked, with definitely a smaller profile than the standard American flamethrower of the day. The most impressive demo though was definitely the VC's grenade trap. I'm not surprised that the AK-47 was left out, doing so really gimps VC's stats, but I guess they had to balance it out so the fight seemed fair against a 1940's unit. Still, would have liked to see a Sturmgewehr vs. AK demonstration. The smack talk was kind of weak, understandable given who they "were representing."

COLONIAL VIPER MKII Moebius Kit.
Ghost Train replied to 505thAirborne's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Finished! I'll build another one sometime this year with the normal Colonial livery. Since Kara Thrace was an instructor at some point before joining Galactica, it would not have been unusual to have Starbuck fly an "aggressor unit" to train noobs - thus the inspiration for the camo pattern. It is an awesome kit, I enjoyed every second of building it. -
You obviously have problems understanding Macross humor/sarcasm ... and making links.

A semi necro post... but to answer your question, the girl in the back is cosplaying Senjougahara Hitagi.

Obviously an original design. It is part of the PLAAF's ASTRO PLAN initiative.

Whats Lying on your Workbench MKIII

It boils down to the amount of air pressure needed to expel the paint. Siphon needs more air pressure as it needs to fight gravity to pull the paint up, this is obviously less problematic with a "gravity" feed. In terms of worksmanship, the quality is barely noticeable in the hands of a pro using either type of airbrush. But due to the waste reason you mentioned above, and perhaps better ergonomics from the location of the paint container, gravity is a slightly better overall choice.

I'm using a Dual Action/Siphon Badger Anthem 155. It's been delivering smooth paint for me for almost 2 years now with no major malfunctions or breakages. I'm thinking of upgrading to a gravity-feed unit though.

Whats Lying on your Workbench MKIII
Ghost Train replied to HWR MKII's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
Camo is complete, and finished a first round of "dirty-fication." Not completely satisfied with the weathering and paint-chipping as it still looks a bit unnatural, but light years better than my last attempt doing this on a Zaku. Still need to decal (did things a bit out of order here), paint the dual cannons, and attach the base. -
The illuminati / anti-christ / grays / Harmony Gold 2012 conspiracy is more widespread than previously believed:

To my comment from earlier, yes during OYW the design philosophies were completely different, but afterwards the tech-gap between the Earth Federation and its various antagonists including Axis, Neo-Zeon, and what not was minimal. As I previously pointed out, this is partly attributed to Anaheim Electronics being pretty much the only dominant player in Mobile Suit development until the SNRI came along much later in the UC timeline. As a result, they developed and sold MS to anyone. Neo-Zeon MS like the Geara Doga and even Sazabi were all built by AE. When 0096 rolls around, the Geara Zulu is at least by the numbers (have yet to watch UC ) superior to either the Jegan or the GM III. Even during the OYW I find the claim that Zeon was not as technologically refined doubtful. This may appear to be the case as they the first-movers, so they had crap loads of surplus Zaku I, Zaku II's, and what not, but also a host of really capable Doms, Gelgoog's and other specialized suits. At the end of the day, they got ownd because of the tremendous resources Earth could put towards the war effort once they got their crap together.

Never has a production made Chinese literature so risqué. There is also SD Gundam Sangokuden for mobile suit 3 kingdoms silliness. -

Just out of curiosity as I'm not a member of any of the RT boards... my common sense tells me that the vast majority of RT fans are not batsh!t crazy like this character. Has the RT community accepted DB as their leader, spokesperson, and personal savior, as he so proclaims in his video?

Caliber itself does not tell the whole story. It is possible that the quality and destructive power of the actual round had vastly improved. Also smaller rounds can be carried in greater number than heavier rounds for improved combat staying potential. (Note, these are generic common sense statements, not necessarily Macross grounded).

Of course Queen is out. If the Fast & Furious guys are involved, the new beat will be some sort of hip-hop-electronica-regueton! I live my life quarter mile at a time... oh yea I'm immortal too.

I don't necessarily agree with this analysis, though you probably know more about MS history than I . I think that when the Feddies first started building MS, they focused on constructing an internal frame/skeleton, and then worry about stuff like weapons, propulsion, and other add-ons (later evolving into the movable-frame concept), which is why GM's are lean. Zeon's design philosophy was to cram stuff into the external armor shell resulting in the bulkier designs. Technologically, I would say that at the end of the OYW, the standard space grunt Feddie unit (The plain ol' GM) was far superior than the Zeke grunt unit, the iconic Zaku II. But since both design lineages merge following OYW, it's hard to argue who was higher in the tech-tree, as Zeon is now relegated to a fringe organization. Plus, being the good arms dealer AE supplied both sides with MS.
