Ehh... I feel the list is a bit too "Anglo". We need to add some names to reflect the token minorities a more culturally diverse cast. Julio Ramirez Jamal Jenkins Ye Ming Chao That will be all, they will be given each 2 lines per episode.

Best Movie Badguy of all time?
Ghost Train replied to Mechamaniac's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
I hope they make a good Operation Entebbe movie about the hostage rescue starring Chuck Norris, Stallone, Arnie, Ice-Cube, and Jackie Chan as elite Israeli Commandos. On a more serious note, it is arguably one of the best hostage rescue operations in "hostile territory" ever carried out, all the way up there with GSG9's Lufthansa 737 rescue. -
It's been previously discussed that LOST is actually a retelling of Macross Zero (page 1). Locke is Ivanov, Jack is Shin, and Hurley is Mao Nome. The Smoke Monster is Kadum. Valkyries were omitted as JJ's mysterious overlord claimed that transforming aircraft are incompatible with Western audiences /value.

lol in all fairness the hero mech (or the whole YF-10 line) looks nothing like the VF-25. Now that I look at it more closely, it borrows a lot from the VF-2.

Is there some Pacific-Island custom or something of taking a maternal last name? (Pardon me if I sound like a chauvinist pig ) Presumably Mao would have married, and thus both Sally and Sheryl would carry a different family name? ... Or was Sally conceived through the force like Darth Vader? Edit: Sally Nome resembles Rinoa from FF8 a lot! My first 2D-crush...

The computer and electronics super geek thread
Ghost Train replied to azrael's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
This is a bit off topic but I didn't feel like starting a new thread for this.... I'm considering getting a standing desk for my home office, at first it'll be just for a laptop, but later for a small form factor PC. I just feel like standing a more natural position for me, aside from other benefits like reducing back strain and improving posture. I saw a few items online, but they were kind of expensive for my current budget. So I was browsing through IKEA's website and found the FREDRIK. Does anyone here have experience with either: a) good standing desks b) this particular piece of furniture? FYI, I'm 180cm tall. -

That.... actually, does not look so bad. Reminds me of the unknown scout/fighter from Macross Galaxy.

To simulate the effect you can use Aurora Film. It is not transparent though. There is probably a right combination of dyes / paints that can get you the Yamato effect... sounds like a good chemistry/science project .

I was undusting my old models today and decided to snap a few shots of this old kitbash. I built it about a year ago, but it was never completely finished as I lost a few runners during a move. The base kit is a GM-Kai, with assorted body parts from a number of other failed/abandoned kits, and the AKO GM Spartan kit. I will definitely build a "proper" Spartan sometime later this year.

The rainbow effect is produced by the refraction of light as it passes from 1 medium (air) to another (the glass). In the science of optics, this is known as Dispersion, and accounts for things like rainbows and how prisms can split white light into its components. The old forum word for this was "Ultraviolent," which is obviously a bastardization of Ultraviolet. The effect seen on the VF-1 v2's and on any actual cockpit has however nothing to do with UV radiation and is centered around the 400-700nm portion of the spectra. For reference, UV has wavelengths of 100 to 400nm.... but Ultraviolent does have a nice ring to it .

lol, whenever I see this thread title it reads Insemination for some reason...

Ghost Train replied to pondo's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
How's this: If you want to watch one Gundam series/OVA/movie that is so bad that you will never want to watch any Gundam forever and ever... watch G-Saviour (it's live action too!). -

If you just want to see mobile suits flying around going pew pew Macross-style, while yelling manly things... watch 0083 first. -
Because Gerwalk happens to be the most aerodynamically stable mode to begin with...

I see "American cartoon" bios are a bit more sensitive when it comes to personal information. Stuff like weight has been taken off .

Spartan! I think they are under-represented.
