What Current Anime Are You Watching Version v3.0
Ghost Train replied to wolfx's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
Working! was awesome. Delivered one of the most epic daytos in anime history for the finale. Since it's a 4Koma I hope there will be S2, OVA, or bonus episodes in the future. Perhaps more focused on Yachiyo / Jun / Kyouko triangle of hilarity. On that note, I've noticed something interesting, but it's probably just a coincidence... lol, why is the Yuri-inclined always a blonde? There is Mugi (K-On), Felicia (Sora no woto), and Yachiyo? -
I feel bad for the North Korean team - given the secrecy of the state I hope there are no "reprimands" for the returning players. They were in the nasty group of death after all. Before you think that this is crazy, consider the case of Iraq's football team during Hussein's reign. Half way around the globe though, I'm sure the French government is sharpening up its guillotines for its own national team .

Live Action Space Battleship Yamato

I would like to visit the Missouri someday. I'm kind of familiar with the history, a ship that continued to serve way past its obsolescence and retirement date - up to Gulf War I at least.- 450 replies

I'm going to call it, it's going to be Brazil v Argentina and the latter will win.

lol, and teamwork matters in this show, which is basically about demo'ing weapons and bringing your best smack talk? Also, the introduction made it clear that the 2 Spetnaz guys weren't from the same class of Spetnaz. One was naval, and the other was from MVD.

I liked the season finale, you are your own worst enemy.

Basically what Eugimon said. The first season in particular is a lot like X-Files, but it drops enough hints of the "meta-story" here and there to keep you interested.

It depends on how you define waste. If we're talking about the sentimental value and risk associated with using a somewhat rare kit as a starting point to make a Morgan, then yeah I agree with you (though some people like the Morgan better than the Falken, so they couldn't care less). However, if we're discussing waste in terms of lack of similarities between the Morgan and Falken... then my response is simply that a project akin to this (unless 100% scratch-built) inevitably generates waste if there is any sort of kit-bashing or borrowing components involved. Of course the Falken and Morgan are not 100% similar. But using the Falken as a starting point will generate less waste than using a real aircraft kit as it has the general shape, canard, wing, and engine placement as the Morgan. Also, per the instructions of the Falken kit, the forward fuselage is assembled as a sub-component (it's on the same site I linked) leaving some room for a scratch built forward fuselage which will address the biggest difference between both craft. Not trying to tell the OP what to do, as he obviously sounds like an experienced scratch-builder, which is the only way to guarantee 100% accuracy.

Yes, it's made by Bandai under the EX line. Somewhat rare, but they pop up on evil-bay once in a while. Dalong has one on his site. In principle the Falken to Morgan conversion makes sense as the planes are evolutionarily related, tricky part will just be to create a more normal-looking cockpit and graft it onto the Morgan.

Cautiously optimistic about this one. Classic MK with current hardware.

I think moving the time frame forward would be a nice move if it does happen. There's a lot of red meat with real current events that can be nicely interwoven into a rebooted timeline. It's actually funny that so much of sci-fi technology dealing with the early 21st century so didn't pan out as expected .

I just went to the corner office supplies store and got me a pack of 200 sheets of Apple i-Sheet(s). 8.5 x 11 size! So thin! omg only 0.12mm . I get to use any pen/pencil or writing device as a stylus... which is good because there is no USB port for a keyboard. No built-in wireless either, but I can fold it into an airplane and toss it at my buddy. Best messaging/wireless protocol yet! ... I got the lined-editions so I can write with my stylus in straight lines. >_< -

The National Socialist German's Worker Party Apple's response to people complaining about the iPhone 4's reception: It's your fault. Lol, perhaps they need to harass a few more journalists and dissidents to make the point that this really is a perfect product? -
Lol, being 75% Chinese I can attest to the truth-ness of this statement. Like I was trying to talk to my uncle about the world cup, and the first thing that came out of his mouth is that someone got mugged lol. The problem with the older Chinese generation is that they love to go on and on about the awesomeness of Chinese culture, then they turn around and pull some ridiculous crap that makes the whole Chinese community look bad: - Talking really really loud in public places - Being the cheapest minority group (Indians will dispute this title) - slurping soup - Leave your unloaded supermarket cart in the middle of the road - etc. (Just to name a few)

Damashii Jegan Type D and updated sculpt of GM Sniper II... I love the "new" design for the Snipey, looks more thin and organic than the original line-art. Source: NgeeKhiong (Due to some extreme procrastination I missed the early bird pre-order >_< )- 6025 replies

There has always been a triangular dilemma with the Frontier kits thus far: 1) It's really a model, and thus it's a display piece and should be handled with care. 2) But it's a model that can transform! What good is something that can transform but that remains static for a prolonged period of time. 3) But the wear & tear from transformation increases the chance of damaging paint & decaling. Tentative Solution: Build it in only 1 form... but then I don't get my money's worth as this kit has twice the MSRP of a Hasegawa non transformable (ie. I've been ripped off). Ok... so it's really more like 4 points and not 3. So yea... I would have been more pleased if they released non-transformable versions of each mode, though the economies of scale probably favored the current product.

Noooo! Only 1 episode of Working! left . Why oh why? I can't sing enough praises of this series. It's managed to be such an entertaining and utterly hilarious ride without resorting to excessive fan service and the other crap that's allegedly sinking anime. I demand Season 2 >_< ... -
I think titles mean nothing - he could very well now be Chief Sanitation Engineer of the studio.... but whoever is in charge of the franchise will still run everything past him. Kojima = Metal Gear.

That.... is.... awesome. The Sharon Apple wallpaper fits very well with the overall theme. It looks like a global domination command & control interface.

Why didn't Mace Windu get a "Force"-AK-47? When you absolutely, positively, need to kill every muthafart*n Sith in the room... accept no substitute! .
-
That's good to know, if that's so then I like how they're keeping it "inside" the timeline. ... but how awesome would it be if Kojima pulls the ultimate troll flanking manuever and delivers 15 minute of Raiden gameplay followed by a 10+ hour game about Johnny "Akiba" Sasaki

Yeah... I was wondering about that too, given that Raiden gets a more normal-looking body at the end of MGS4, though it's conceivable his "parts" are somewhat easily replaceable/upgradeable.
