I am doing another playthrough, as Vanguard this time. At first I was a bit annoyed by the ridiculous global cooldowns, but I actually enjoy using my team members to combo with my own biotic skills. My favorite combo is Pull > Charge . Not a combo, but I like to freeze enemies with SMG + cyro ammo then Charge for a nasty shatter effect. I think if there weren't any cooldowns, my Vanguard would just be pretty much unstoppable.

Giant Samurai with chain gun ...

Is that the frame-arms skeleton? . It's looking fantastic.

Lolz... Robert Downey should just play all the avengers with some creative CG . Samuel L. Jackson can keep his role... no muthafka takes his role... ever.

It's mentioned in the film that the two Predator factions were having some sort of turf war - though this is from a human's perspective, and no one would really know why the Pred was captured. I didn't read the spoilers so I thought the doctor was just there to keep everyone alive, so as to increase the difficulty for the hunting predators. So for me, it was a bit of a ahaaaa moment.

Whats Lying on your Workbench MKIII
Ghost Train replied to HWR MKII's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
I'm continuing work on the VF-1D weathered bird experiment. The intakes got done nicely. Just the amount of dirtiness I was aiming for. The intake decals always freak me out, because it's the one decal that you can't really lose or screw up and still have a realistic looking plane. Fortunately, nothing went wrong and it's been solvasetted in place. The leg assemblies are giving me a hard time. One leg is fine. Perfect fit. The other is just terrible. Going to spend some more time reputtying and sanding down the poorly fitted one. One thing that I strongly dislike about the thruster is that (unlike the Hasegawa YF-19), it must be assembled into the leg, before both sides are sealed shut. Which of course makes painting a b!tch... Not sure if anyone has any advice on how to attack this problem. I have tried to squeeze some plastic wrap around the thrusters and wrapped it with tape. It's not perfect, but I hope it holds. Sorry, pic a bit blurry - but you get the idea. -
Aside from the price-tag of hiring so many A-listers, it's going to be an ego-fest on the set for sure .

I just got back from seeing this. What makes this film so enjoyable is that it does not try and take itself too seriously, nor does it attempt to tell some sort of compelling story to then fall flat on its face. It's just a simple sci-fi action flick, and that's it. The other enjoyable thing was the 80's tackiness, from some of the music tracks to the intro title. I had some doubts about Adrien Brody playing a commando, as he is no arnie, but he did a convincing job, and damm that AA-12 automatic shotgun is pure carnage. I rate this logarithmically better than the 2 AvP films, slightly better the second, but the original is still supreme.

Well in America, yes, because our women weigh like a fking ton. Edit: Actually, the average weight of US women is about 160 lb, so he weighs less than "a girl."- 57 replies

♥MMA (Mixed Martial Arts) combat
Ghost Train replied to Agent ONE's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
It's unfair (for the martial art) to say that Bruce Lee would be good at it. If the guy decided to play Chess, he'd probably beat Deep-Blue, avenge Kasparov, then do a death stomp with angry+sad face on the giant computer.- 57 replies

I'm glad the pilot ejected safely... damm those aliens from ID4, always picking on Hornets.

Unless Protoculture contains massive amounts of Z-4,5,9-trithiadodeca-1,6,11-triene 9-oxide (perhaps the most useful naturally occurring medicinal ingredient in Garlic).... then no.

I finished my first playthrough.... interesting results. I had 2 loyalty missions offered but not completed when Normandy is attacked. Because I desperately wanted to save my secretary , I jumped through Omega immediately. In the end: No one dies during the space-battle, had armor, shield, and weapon upgrade for Normandy. Now the ground battle: Shepard: Alive Miranda: Alive / Loyal (also love interest, not sure if this impacts survival lol) Samara: Alive / Not Loyal, but mission offered Garrus: Alive / Loyal Thane: Alive / Not Loyal, failed loyalty mission Jacob: Alive / Loyal Mordin: Alive / Loyal Tali: KIA / Not Loyal, failed loyalty mission Grunt: KIA / Loyal Jack: KIA / Loyal Legion: KIA / Not Loyal, but mission offered Secretary: ALIVE yes! Some other choices: - I sent Tali through the ducts. - Samara held up the biotic field for my squad, and Miranda for the other one - I sent Mordin to escort my crew back

What Current Anime Are You Watching Version v3.0
Ghost Train replied to wolfx's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
I started watching Ookami-san to Shichinin no Nakamatachi. I fell asleep 1/2 way through the first ep, but LOL @ Kuroko narrator - I think I will continue to watch just because of that. Satomi Arai is not even trying to pretend it's not Kuroko Shirai . -
Best Movie Badguy of all time?
Ghost Train replied to Mechamaniac's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
I don't feel that Longshanks comes across as a particularly memorable villain. He was portrayed as a fairly prototypical monarch of the late middle ages - hence it would be unusual for him not to be extremely violent! Then again... I really don't feel like Braveheart was that great of a movie. -
I'm approaching the end-game, though so far away from getting all upgrades. I did do the cannon & armor upgrade for the Normandy because I heard that impacts to some extent who survives the jump through Omega-4. I only have to do Samara & Legion's loyalty mission. I'm loving Infiltrator. Cloak + Snipey is so fun. Also, Cloak and flanking with SMG's is just so sick. Probably trying a biotic for my next playthrough.

Science and Technology MEGA THREAD

lol can't you deflect lasers with mirrors? I think ballistics will never be replaced. There are also developments in the fields of rail guns, which seems like the next evolution to current munitions. -
Machete starring Danny Trejo, Deniro, Seagal, Alba, etc!
Ghost Train replied to UN Spacy's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
I don't think Europe will take them. But for the sake of fun: they love guns, hate big government, and dislike taxation of any shape and form. Somalia seems like the perfect place! There is: 1) no government (of any kind) 2) zero taxes 3) and carrying an assault rifle is mandatory. -

LOL, apparently (in certain xenophobic quarters of the US), this movie is generating a lot of controversy. Also, didn't realize from trailer #1 that Frank "I can fly a plane" Lapidus (Jeff Fahey) from LOST is the Senator guy. -
All Things Video Games Thread: II
Ghost Train replied to Wanzerfan's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
A bit late to the game, but finally got a chance to play Mass Effect 2. 10+ hours in, I'm loving it. Although I don't totally like the shift towards "shooter" rather than RPG, the action is pretty intense. The overemphasis on cover-mechanics makes it a bit too much like Gears of War... but the biotic powers gives it differentiation I guess. Doing my first play through as Infiltrator. -
Transformers Collection on PAWN STARS
Ghost Train replied to fifbeat's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
I'm glad the owner stood his ground, and the "expert" ballparked the value of the collection at least on the range he was asking for (though a 5k range is pretty big). LOL the real enemy is the guy's waifu trying to make him part with the toys, I can't believe that there is no place else in that house where it can be stored - unless this is the case of needing cash and not making room for a baby as the seller describes. -

K-On S2 just doesn't have the punch of S1. Perhaps everyone is just deathly ill from moe-diabetus type C by now. -
