I'm just opposed to the word "organic" being used in the current context. By definition, pesticides, hormones, meth, and cocaine are all organic compounds too. -
The video is based on various GAO reports (links are on the actual youtube site). On the one hand, they are supposed to be impartial and non-partisan, but the on the other staffed by accountants, and lawyers for the most part .

Since we're discussing Monosodium glutamate I'd like to throw in my 0.02 and shed some light on the treatment of this much maligned food additive. Despite its common association with Chinese food and restaurants (at least here in the US), MSG was actually invented in Japan under the trade name Ajinomoto. Despite this, there is a double standard on how it's treated by consumers. Japanese restaurants like any other, use a ton of this stuff even today - yet they receive none of the negative press. Instant-preparation Miso soup (and believe me, your local Japanese food restaurant does not make Miso the traditional way) is basically a Miso-flavored MSG soup. Yet confronted with Japanese food, the consumer miraculously perceives it to be: 1) cosmopolitan 2) healthy (lol) 3) and of course savory. In a Chinese restaurant by contrast, the usage of MSG is greeted as follows: NO MSG U DIRTY COMMY! AND STOP MAKING US BUY UR CHEAP GOODS AND EXPORTIN AUR JOBS OVERSEAZ! FREE TIBET! FREE TAIWAN! RAWR! I'M NOT EATIN HERE AGAIN! I LUV SUSHI W00! -
There are only 2 reasons to actually watch the Ookami-san anime: 1) May'N signs the intro 2) Kuroko "Oneeeeee-Samaaa!" Shirai is the all powerful narrator of each story.

Technically visible light is also a form of EM radiation. The only way to stay safe is to live in a lead enclosed room in complete darkness! -

Not sure about "proping up" the Russian aviation industry. Given the choice, many countries in the position to procure arms from either the west or Russia have willingly chosen Russian hardware. India (not that great example), Malaysia, and Indonesia have all procured advanced versions of the Flanker to serve alongside their Mirage's and F-16's. When buying from the US, the price you pay is that you need to ask for permission before using your hardware, whereas there are no such strings attached with buying made in Russia. Indigenous are too much of a resource sink of said country does not have its own developed aviation industry, so off-the-shelf is a better bet if the money's there.

This system is obviously broken, as my "reputation" of 6-Neutral seems high . What is that, like Lawful Good?

Don't know if this particular case is real, but there have been constant rumors of a resurgence of prop-driven light attack COIN aircraft resurgence. Perhaps marketed for export. They offer a number of benefits making them ideally suited for tasks like close air support, most notably their low speed. Also, I'm guessing the lack of jet exhaust greatly reduces the effectiveness of IR guided missiles. Don't see it working for the US though, unless it's for cost-cutting. The combination of Apaches & Cobras, and A-10's has historically worked very well.

I think CN's Adult Swim would be the perfect home for Robotech: Astro Plan from Outer Space and Friends. Right between ATHF and Metalocalypse.... better yet, just make Meatwad, Shake, and Master Fry do the dubbing.

LOL, this is the one time (based on looks alone) I wish they borrowed more heavily from existing aircraft design . I'm wondering if ROCAF across the straits (as its the intended "audience" for the J-20) is developing its own 5G fighter. Pretty much everyone in E. Asia is on it. Japan has ATDX going for it, S. Korea has the KFX project, and PRC is developing Advanced Mobile Suits... Taiwan certainly has the technical know-how and the industrial capabilities to churn its own 5G aircraft.

I think a good SciFi alien flick now would be aliens defending themselves against a human invasion.... OH WAIT TEH JAKE SULLY nvm.

Stuff that is good: Epic epic epic scale of space warfare and political machinations, moral ambiguity as neither the FPA nor the Empire are absolute goods or evils, and Walter von Schonkopf (THE ANIMU PATRIARCH OF GAR). Stuff not so sure about: Desgins (axes, and medieval-like armor), the cheapening of human life in the far future.

Whats Lying on your Workbench MKIII
Ghost Train replied to HWR MKII's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
Canards removed, they looked weird, maybe next F-16. Still have some sensors / probes to attach, and then moving on to weapons. Also decided to build this one wheels-up. These new F-16's sure have a lot of "stuff" attached, it's amazing they even get off the ground with that huge avionics spine, dual CFT's and ordinance. -

Mobile Suit Gundam 00 - >>Season 2 + Movie<<
Ghost Train replied to Chief Guld Goa Bowman's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
I'm a UC-purist who enjoyed 00 (the 1st season anyways) and thought it was a breadth of fresh air. UC timeline is not without its problems - as there is a strong sense of "I've seen this before" for every recent intellectual property (Igloo, UCG, etc.). In my opinion, Gundam in general has staled and grown moldy. It's kind of funny that the gunpla for the 00 movie came out before the actual movie - which leads me to believe that it's just become a big cash grinder. (In before DUR... WHAT ISN'T?) -

Definitely getting one. Going to see if the nacelles and evil canards can be easily modded out during build, and the whole thing made to look more like an advanced VF-19 derivative rather than the Nirvash .

The only way the aliens are now entangled in a nasty ground war is because they managed to ground our Marine F-18C's first!
