Strike A Pose! V.4 - The Macross Mech Pose Thread
Ghost Train replied to JCSaves's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
Thanks Mog! That's the photo I was looking for. -
I think that Transformers has been adequately defecated upon by the Hollywood. It's time to move on and fertilize other greener pastures - Go Bots, He-Man & She-Ra, and perhaps the Care Bears... damm, Bay can direct an epic Carebears with them shooting lasers and other forms of directed energy weapons from their bellies and sh!t.

I was there: Really really tempted to reroll and check out Incarna, not so much to check out the new avatar features, but the trailer reminded me of some really good times... I was there too. Taranis Interceptor <3 . -

A New Challenger Approaches! Cough cough, eh yo... we be the creators of the original transforming robot original american production yo, HARMONY GOLD SHAKA ZULU REpreseeeentiiiiiin! -
I like this idea too. Perhaps the success of CoD black ops in painting an "earlier era" in a stylish manner will move this idea forward. There is plenty of awesome Eastern Block hardware like the Mig-15/17 too. The F-4 can be the Osean super-plane, while the Mig-21 can be the enemy ace G-monster ace enemy squadron plane.

You can never have enough landing gears. Landing gears should also be present on platforms where you don't expect them - trains, boats, cellphones, Gundams, and giant transforming space cruisers: -

Further off-topic, but a fictitious design that at least tries to incorporate the realities of space flight can be sleek as well - the Vipers from RDM Galactica puffing away with their RCS thrusters, or the Starfuries from B5 rotating their thrust nacelles. If we want to take this to the next level, I'd argue that space fighters in general are less useful than previously believed: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fdUhfYIq8i8 -
I hope Moebius does the Blackbird, the epitomy of sci-fi space fighter minimalism.

I'm totally enjoying my Focus 2012, fun car, really high-tech, and reasonably priced (it's about time the Focus got some loving in the US). The MPG indicator hit 30.0 hits morning on pretty much city driving alone due to insane road construction this time of year. I can do almost anything from climate control to audio to calling someone, 100% through voice commands. The other day I was watching Top Gear's review on the Porsche Boxster, and I fell off my chair when Clarkson describes how the car has a little slot for a SIM card LMAO... cheap 25000 Focus 1 / Boxster 0. Ok jk, I'm making a horrible generalization based on Bluetooth connectivity alone . Would love to have a Porsche one day. I love my new car - entry level vehicle with luxury user interface. The ease of connectivity to all your digital devices - memory sticks, iPod/phones, etc makes this the ultimate geek car. -
I can find no other thread of relevance to post this in:

All Things Video Games Thread: II

Changing the topic 180 degrees... I was recently stuck in a really bad traffic jam and made a mental list of awesome games I never finished (in contrast to the much longer sh!tty games that I started but just didn't feel like finishing list) . Topping the list was definitely Zelda: A Link to the Past, so I fetched the GBA version of the game. Thus far have obtained 2/3 pendants before I yank the master sword . The farthest I got last time was the first dungeon of dark world... I think my cartridge just stopped saving after that. Second on the list is Resident Evil 2 .... Have you done a similar thought exercise? Do you have a log to clear before the 2012 Zombie Maya Nibiru Planet X Budget Crisis Catastrophe? Pleas share. -
Screw 3D, I'm waiting for 5-D+ with Infrared imaging so I can watch yet another reboot/re-imagining/or videogame-to-movie like the Predator would.

Today's generation is interested in a quick burst of action with a dose of slow motion, acrobatics, reloading a fire-arm, followed by a backflip, a high-five, while having the ability to blurt out some profanity over the mic, then posting it on the youtube and/or the twitter thinking you're funny, but you're not . I don't mind re-doing certain elements of the genre though. They can certainly put slightly more effort into crafting an actual story instead of the same old Country A invades Country B scenario. The Steel Carnage thing might work out if done right, but other elements like being a gunner or piloting a heli just feel terribly out of place.

Nice job Kyp, that's actually similar to the colors I was going to throw on top of the Mk 7 when that one comes out. So I got the chance to check out the BSG Pilot miniseries on BBC America. Perhaps it's just my eyes playing tricks on me, but all the characters looked so fresh-faced at the beginning of the saga - even the old man looked less wrinkly. Although the series was somewhat short-lived, clocking in at half-a-decade, the characters look a lot more aged by the time Daybreak aired.

I have both a Revvy and GNU -19, it's a matter of preference really, but I lean towards the GNU. The Revvy is very possable indeed but the cartoonish styling just doesn't do it for me, and it looks more like it walked out of Gurren Lagan than from Macross - not saying that the GNU -19 is an accurate representation either as it certainly is not. It just looks like a better display piece - excellent quality, no paint overruns, flat finish, and no weird smell.

Even MORE remake madness.......
Ghost Train replied to taksraven's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
The next big thing will be the silent film shot in Black&White - instead of dialogue, a Tweet screen will come up with the characters are supposed to be saying. Totally original concept, never been done before, and will blow your mind. It will also be shot in never before seen 2-D (the lower the number goes the better). 9,928 people will like this. -
P.J. , RIP, be glad that you were shot down by the second most beloved enemy ace of the whole saga though... In more recent games the radio chatter was a bit annoying, but in AC5 it was well done, and each pilot of Wardog/Razgrizz had a fairly distinct personality. I'm wondering if there is a way to integrate voice in future games so I can be a real squadron leader and be like: Hey <you>! Get this boggy off my 6. Hey <you>! Attack this target. Nagase... if you keep flying like that... wait, can I buy you a drink?

They will probably all be hired by the Government to work for an elite black-ops covert classified trolling agency. This team will be called the Super Friends of Justice and have a secret base in the Antartic. -
I will only watch this, if it is ALSO simulcasted abroad under the banner of "HARMONY GOLD PRESENTS" and retitled Robotech: The Gundam Age Saga.
