Anyone else terribly disappointed? ... the overall design seems ok, but the painting is just revolting ....

I personally loved the way the RDM series ended. Having the Galactica encounter a present or near present day Earth would just be too absurd - OMG u guys all SPEAK ENGRISH too WTF LOL!!11!!! U ALSO have liek teh exact same assault rifles that our primitive earth infantry grunts use!!!

The Galactica never crashes into the sun... but in 2012, it changes course back towards Earth and crashes into a remote South Pacific island... the rest is history.

Any known toy reissues in celebration of the Macross 30th Anniversary?
Ghost Train replied to mqvu's topic in Toys
Not a reissue... but maybe a 1:1 scale battroid... make it transformable to 1-up the "actual-scale" Gundam they made for the 30th anniversary . -
I think that as part of the new "leaner" Pentagon, we will move more and more towards drones - they already do amazing sh!t (including getting the US in trouble ). Also, my experience in the Consulting business suggests that the process of requisitioning hot new fighter jets is no different than delivering software, which usually amounts to having beautiful powerpoint slides promising unrealistic capabilities, specifications, and project timelines. At the end, either one of the two things happen: you deliver 20% of what you promised, or you deliver 100% of what you promised at 1000% the cost.

I finished the final episode of the Carnival Phantasm shorts. I hope there is a season 3 . -
EVE has a 14 day trial but, yes after that it's subscription based. I haven't played in about a year, but I think if you're good at making ISK (in-game currency), you can use your ISK to buy game time cards, all legal of course, pretty neat huh? There is also RF: Online, which is kind of a combination of SciFi & Fantasy. Last I heard it was free to play.

A bit bummed out about the web exclusivity but I think it's increasingly easier for people outside of Japan to bypass nowadays so remain hopeful ! Definitely getting my hands on this one one way or the other.

I have a '12 Focus hatchback SEL (pics a few pages back ), it's got decent fuel economy but it was a bit of a letdown, and I get nowhere near the theoretical sticker max of 38 MPG. I'm squeezing out about 31. The Fiesta is VERY fuel efficient though. -

Although this is shaping up to be epic, I can't shake the feeling that we're being trolled with extreme prejudice at the moment. First alien by film's end but no xenomorph ... ? Not connected to the Alien film franchise... but it's about the Space Jockey ??? Personally, I don't agree with the vast majority of Erich von Däniken's ideas, particularly attributing ET's as the engineers for various architectural and engineering feats performed by ancient humans. If God forbid the world were to reboot next year, some futuristic human scholar rebuilding his/her civilization from scratch would have certainly attributed my Yammi transforming VF-1 as the work of Grays from Zeta Reticuli! I'm willing to ignore this for the sake of an epic scifi horror film though. -
It's that time again!!!11!!!1!!! Not bothering with categories. Just discuss what you think were the highlights (both best and worst!) of 2011 happenings, whether it be toys, models, anime, cars, movies, etc (within reason). So here are just some of my thoughts: - I really can't think of a best or worst movie. I really enjoyed Macross F: Sayonara No Tsubasa, though I get this vibe we're not going to see any new Macross for a while. - On a related front, the two anime I enjoyed the most were Fate Zero (ongoing) and Kore wa Zombie Desu Ka? - For toys - I was absolutely thrilled to finally get some sort of representation for the GM Sniper II in either original flavor or White Dingo colors. So let's see... wishes for 2012: Yammie VF-4 (after they get Macross 7 out of their system) ? Also simply can't wait for Evangelion 3.0.

As an internet argumentation theorist I find this simple tactic to still be the most effective . -
Having played through the whole thing, I'd say the game and some of its elements had potential, but instead of focusing on them, they spent time ON THE WRONG THINGS: Helicopter piloting, Gun-Ship door gunner (wtf ... ? Well at least glad to know Mr. Simon "Ghost" Riley is still alive), and the singular bomber mission.
-
Drone piloting sounds like an awesome job, perfect for a generation of guys who've spent most of their childhoods vegging in front of a videogame console. You fly your drone around for a couple of hours, go to taco bell for lunch, and resume. I would suggest the following training curriculum: Basic: 1. Galaga (or any classic shooter): Basic Control Stick Familiarization. 2. Microsoft Flight Sim: Basic Flight Dynamics Advanced: 1. Ace Combat 5 Trench Mission: For reflex building and dealing with frustration. 2. Battlefield 2/3: Why flying aircraft is not for everyone. 3. EVE Online: Counterintelligence, crime, espionage, and smack talking in the digital warfare environment Electives: 1. Ikaruga: The philosophy and zen of controlling remote killing machines. 2. Touhou: Modern moe and its influence on controlling remote killing machines.

Favorite song from one my favorite animes set against another favorite:
-
Valkyria Chronicles of course! - Huge cast of characters that will make any RPG jealous - CANVAS graphics engine is just absolutely beautiful - Epic story with a few WTF twists & moments - Blends RTS, and turn based strategy with some limited runnin n' gunnin beautifully. It is the forgotten killer app of the PS3. Too bad they made all the sequels on PSP >_< . The anime adaptation was really subpar though, did not do the game justice.
-
If they jut re-release the YF-19 with some sort of "neck cover" I'll seriously buy like 3 of them. The gullet I can live with but not the protruding neck/head >_< .
