It's called the "Orizer" and is supposed to dock up with Gundam 00... though it has yet to make an appearance in season 2 yet . -
New macross saga based movie (Robotech Genesis)
Ghost Train replied to kamikaze_kamujin's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
The creator of this obviously has some talent, enough to create an original mecha production, and not something based on Macross. -

I think the Soma/Marie thing is a trap A-laws cleverly prepared in order to insert a spy into CB. In a matter of a few hours... ALL OF A SUDDEN she realizes that she had a personality imprinted bla bla bla... so yea I think it's either a trap or bad writing. -
I have the STNG Enterprise-D Picard's door chime. It is subtle, to the average person who hears the tone it doesn't sound out of the ordinary.

Just saw it this evening. Really liked it! However, if you went in expecting "classic Bond" with super cars and laser shooting Omega's you will be sorely disappointed. It has the same flavor of Casino Royale, though much more gritty, dark, non of the super suave super agent womanizer but instead choosing to depict a more realistic Bond. This shouldn't detract people from the character though, Daniel Craig plays this guy like an absolute bada$$... with just more human qualities. I personally like the direction this new reboot is headed. Only complaint is that the cast of villains was a bit dull.

I actually like the "Lost in Space" design feel, but do feel it's up to the viewer, and some people do like the more toned down look of the previous films. The preview was ok, too many cliche lines though

Official Bandai 1/60 Scale DX Toy Thread Ver.2
Ghost Train replied to Graham's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
More excited about the 10+ pages of drama and b1tching that will follow the pic. Even though it will be the same thing that has been said over and over again (understandable, as it's essentially the same product as last time)... don't care too much about the toy one way or the other, this thread itself is entertaining. -

Cannon Fodder VF-25 please , as seen in the last eps. -
Sounds interesting. One suggestion I have about the website is to remove the grid background, it gets in the way of the white text and can be distracting. I like the text-style on the menu... very zentradi like, it would look really awesome if it were just written in black, smaller font, and against a white background. Maybe have the alien text roll over onto English when a mouse hovers onto it.

I actually went on it a few years ago, the "museum" area was kind of nice but the ride itself was kind of idiotic imo one step above a Universal Studios ride, hope they make a better one some day.

Mobile Suit Gundam 00 - >>Season 2 + Movie<<
Ghost Train replied to Chief Guld Goa Bowman's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
So 70% through S1 now, it took a while for things to get interesting, but it's getting really good now. I'm a few episodes past the introduction of the thrones, they are so bloodthirsty - "intervening" at a wedding for no good reason at all XD. My biggest complaint are still the mechs, they should just drop the whole transforming thing, in Mobile Armor mode the flag looks like a mosquito (the insect not the plane). Though Graham's Flag does look wicked in MS mode and makes me want to buy that model. -
Mobile Suit Gundam 00 - >>Season 2 + Movie<<
Ghost Train replied to Chief Guld Goa Bowman's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Just started watching 00 from the beginning. Thus far to me it has a strong "Gundam Wing flavor" to it, but just reviewing the last 2 pages it seems that it borrows some story concepts from other Gundam timelines. Don't really like the mechanical designs that much, they are mildly original, the Exia is kind of unique looking though. Same for the character designs, and lol at making Tiera Erde (sp) so effeminate... he actually looks like my cousin (female). But yea, it's interesting enough to motivate me to continue watching it, I hope it gets better for the remainder of S1 and the current S2 offering. -

Coke-can is special online order JP Onry from Bandai website. -
For me it's a tie between [shin v Nora (the last one)] and [isamu v Guld], but I picked the Zero fight.

Official Bandai 1/60 Scale DX Toy Thread Ver.2
Ghost Train replied to Graham's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
lol greatest movie ever. I also loved the Family Guy take on it a few weeks ago. But back on topic, I honestly just continue following this thread for its comedic value. Same section, different thread: "waaaa yamato shoulder broke off m0therf***ers took mah money!" and on this one: "waaaa it's ugly." There is just no pleasing anyone. It took Yamato many years to perfect their valkyrie toys to this point, and it's still far from perfect from the QC perspective. This is Bandai's first big re-entry into Macross since Seven, so I personally believe that some slack-cutting is reasonable in particular with regards to slight deviations from the line-art, but if that bothers people so much, then just go buy the model (don't own one, but I hear the model is basically an MG kit with slightly more detailing work to do). Collectors are going to be "displaying" it anyways, and not swooshing it around, which I think is the role the DX was designed for - making the kit fragility a really minor issue to consider in my opinion. I would rather a company start with a durable product and work its way towards better aesthetics, then in the case of Yamato of starting with picture perfect looks but ramping up quality as they release products... in fact I think the latter approach is dishonest, I really don't feel like paying 100+ USD to "test" and "obtain data" for Yamato so they can come up with a version 2 which might or might not contain fixes (which I will have to pay for again). The assumption to all of this, is of course that the product is indeed more durable, which remains to be seen - which is why I decided against a pre-order on this one. -

Bandai/Tamashi Nations 1/100 lineup. 2009 takeoff!

Per one of the earlier shots, the tentative date is Feb. 2009 for the VF-25's. I can't answer question #2 for you . -

I am part of the mentally ill 1% of Macross fandom that absolutely hates how the VF-25 looks in the series. It is just too anorexic, and the mega-crotch block thing just looks strange. But I do strangely find the DX VF-25 more appealing for some reason, and like it better than the actual line-art. There, I've said it! ... /equip flamesuit -
Bandai/Tamashi Nations 1/100 lineup. 2009 takeoff!
Ghost Train replied to UN Spacy's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
My hypothesis on the order is that it's going to be: VF-25(s) (dur...) > VF1-71 > VF-1 > V(Y)F-19 > V(Y)F-22, VF-4 > everything else Since Frontier is still fresh in everyone's mind and with the movie on the way, they'll probably want to get all of those out first. The classic VF-1 is next because it's a safe bet. The Plus valks are pretty iconic by now, so that's another safe bet for them. I don't have high hopes for a near future release of the M2 valks. The Macross 2 logo is prominently displayed in that original announcement, but I don't see a VF-2SS imprinted in red anywhere, so I'm guessing it's not on their priority list. I would love to see the VF-2SS in all of its non-canonical beauty or the VF-4, but I have found Japanese toy manufacturers (in particular the more famous ones) to be fairly risk averse. They will of course try and milk stuff they know people will gobble up instantly (for instance... most collectors have a whole squadron of Yamato VF-1's by now), instead of taking a risk with a relatively unproven design like the VF-4, which I will admit that in terms of aesthetics is pretty hit or miss. At this point in toy-history, I would rather just see something unique rather than just another VF-1. But hopefully I'm wrong and Bandai will use this chance to bring to market some of these more esoteric valks. -
The Xbox 360 Thread Pro Edition
Ghost Train replied to Apollo Leader's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
My 360: May 2006 - September 2008 It has finally succumbed to RR syndrome. May it rest in peace until Microsoft sends me a repaired unit / replacement. Sending out my 360's coffin to MS tomorrow . I wonder if they'll just give me a new one or try and repair it - I think I had one of the earlier models, so the former option doesn't seem so bad.
