Anyone know why these even move? Is it for armor? I have not needed to move these fins on previous VF-1 toys.

Just ordered from HLJ and cancelled CD Japan. I like CD Japan but their shipping is slow and pricy. I have stuff in my HLJ Private warehouse all the time, and for some reason this preorder was VERY reasonably priced at HLJ.

Anyone tried shaving a hair of plastic off each side (left right) of the adaptor? I'm thinking of doing that. Doesn't look like it will remove any pegs. so it could allow the arms to be UP in correct position. I'll give it a look tonight when I am home and can see the part in real life, not from memory.

Now that i have gone into the other room and confirmed my HM-R Elint Seeker's nosecone is brown/tan plastic, and not painted grey plastic, I would get a q-tip and dab some Winsor & Newton BRUSH CLEANER & RESTORER on there and stroke carefully. I'd probably be bold but it could not hurt to mask off other areas. that stuff has worked well for me removing paint. And I use it often to clean my airbrush as well as bristle paintbrushes. YMMV

I agree with all of this. Hasegawa does great with aircraft, but the SDF-1 is an utter disappointment. As for yamato/arcadia. Yea its beautiful but I don't have that kind of cash lying around. I was hoping these would be an economical alternative since the Yamato/Arcadia looks dull without paint anyhow, but I was dead wrong. Edit: Oh i just searched HLJ. Looks like Arcadia has a premium finish version. But its ONLY $575. GACK!!!

Im currently building the cruiser version of both Hasegawa kits, and I am not at all impressed with the TV SDF-1 .. its REALLY off. So many things from the movie version left as is instead of accurate to the show. I don't think just the cannons would help. The 'Chest boosters' seem way too big, the Legs have all the DYRL kibble on them that wasn't in the show, the cannons don't have the rounded out notch, and the way they attach to the body behind them is completely different from the TV version. Hasegawa is usually so good, i don't know why they did this. If I could I'd return this kit to Hasegawa. Probably not getting the storm attacker. it looks like they still used a bunch of DYRL parts

It would be nice if Hasegawa would release a kit of those guns for those of us who bought the ship version so the kit would be accurate.. Or if someone would recast or 3d print the appropriate parts. Really gotta learn to 3d model one of these days

Yes. Using HLJ since.. I can't even say when.. AGES. Their flexibility is fantastic, prices are, to me, with private warehouse, the best. The shipping options are just top notch and I've never had any issues. I buy everything i am ABLE to from them.

Well I somehow got two in on HLJ as separate orders before reading that it was one per customer. I cancelled one of them so hopefully they wont cancel my other. Are they nazis about it if you fix it yourself?

HLJ was simple and in truth i buy almost all my stuff there. I've never bought two of anything before though from one store. Hope they dont cancel it.

Everytime i do this I wonder what the heck manufacturers are thinking. Just make more toys.

Anyone have a good. reliable way to order P-bandai? I'm not in a rush, After what they did with Milia's Valk, I suspect that if they make the VT-1 super ostrich, or VE-1 Elint Seeker, they'll make one, if not both of them P-bandai. I need to get ready. might take creating an account and working on getting a credit card that works in Japan. I dunno how to do it yet.

Please Excuse me if the answer to this is obvious. I clicked through all the pages of this thread and searched 'Hikaru' on each... Its 1:30am.. So it seems that we are never getting a chronological direct sequel to Macross TV Where it covers what happens to the fleet with Hikaru, Misa, and the rest. (according to Kawamori & Co?) Has anyone ever attempted a fan-fiction to cover this gap? Anything good? I'm looking for Macross, not Robotech. This is a story I have wanted to read since 1985. Thanks for any Info!!!
