Hobby-Genki sent mail that Armor only is in stock and asked me how I would like it shipped. Today is a good day. BTW: Has anyone tried to put the GBP Armored VF-1J in a detolf yet? Wondering if it's too tall. Thanks!

Woohoo! HLJ Charged and I already put on shipping. DHL was a little under $50. Not horrid considering how shipping has been going since COVID started. I have a set of Just the Armor on Hobby Genki, which I'll probably sell when it arrives. I dont think I need two after all.

I’ve done this, it’s not hard. Used rit dye. but then i havent put Stick back together because i mean to paint the yellowed parts and i fixed the fabric in the dead of winter!

Wow. Without being mean too much.. the math.. nope. $55 plus shipping. 2.5 in tall? And (R) branding? Nah. I bought a 2 sentinel legioss, and all but 1 dx chogokin valkyrie. But. At some point the part of my mind that yells “Stoopid!” At the other part of my mind that says “shiny collectible” .. that yelling part sometimes WINS. Maybe they will be perfect transformable. Maybe they will be amazing. But that is way tinier than those way simpler Gakken ones we still managed to break. That many Joints that size and …time.. are enemies. Your mileage may vary

This every 6 months or so schedule they are doing has really been working well for me... I've skipped tv max (mistake) and DYRL Kakizaki. And having stopped buying Gundam kits til I build the ones I have. The budget can handle what DX Chogokin is throwing at it. I'd love to see DYRL Max. So he is represented in my incomplete collection

I'm still hoping the rest of the missiles will be 'somehow' removable. Even if the upper ones are just painted tips on a flat plastic base... I'm holding out hope for a effects kit with itano circus type 'missile trails' .. that could include the missiles that don't come on the GBP. *fingers crossed* Actually I guess if they are not removeable the 'smoke cloud' could effectively just tab in over top.

HLJ is loading again. Yes. Order that went to 502 after payment and the email came through IS listed in Order History. This is actually the smoothest this has gone for me in like 2 yrs. -

Just ordered the armor after all. Budgets not tight tight, but I like to be practical. For the few times I transform it, I can take off the armor. $140 hurts a lot less than $340

Ok, so because I read it like months ago.. (I had no idea if his new posting scheme would be good or bad, I hadn't seen it before!) Is this where I lt IS okay to say this: After a change of heart, I registered email to let me know when the GBP was available again at Hobby genki. Got mail this morning and PO worked. I just have to hope they don't turn out to be like another company I used o trust and stopped. (you all know who but I'm not gonna dogpile on them in case they fix their service and return to being good) Also.. OMG that super robot wars video is cool!! Let me know if not. Rules are hard. Well crud. I look at the pictures more about how maneuverable it looks and now I have non-buyers remorse. My Yamato 148 GBP is such a brick. Oh well maybe they'll reissue this in 6 months or something. They seem to do it with the other super and strike packs.

I want to want this, but i dont want to pay for it. Anyone else find the GBP turns you off a bit cause its so unposable (in previous incarnations)?? Maybe I'm alone in that. If i had the $350 or $400 to get the whole set i might do it.. Why am I Even posting this? It looks cool, honestly. I'm just getting cheap.

Sheesh so complicated. It's been uh.. only a month.. since I rewatched the first 8 eps.. Hikaru has no un spacy helmet in the opening scenes, that weird thing around his head with goggles instead.. Then he gets in the VF-1D and amazingly there's a nice helmet in there the color of his future uniform... I suspect the toy just comes with one Hikaru figure so that's why the helmet. He DOES get back in the fan racer, with Minmei after the VF-1Debacle... WITH helmet, And the space fold happens and he has the helmet when they get caught in the lost part of the SDF-1.. so I guess I was mistaken and the orange civilian flightsuit with the un spacy helmet is accurate, at least for those few minutes... as Jvmacross said above.. 'from a certain point of view."

OMG Second that! I got an item in on my HLJ private warehouse yesterday, and the shipping options were all over $22.. on a $35 kit. Not HLJ's fault but this pandemic hurts.

Are These new ones going to be relatively inexpensive? I aspire to someday build one of Capt. Americas kits, but I have done only one resin kit so far. and while happy with the results resin is still very challenging. Also I would not want to 'play' with resin for fear I would flake the paint off by looking at it sideways.

Thats gorgeous! however for my project I need a smaller figure if that is as how it looks in the photo. The legs look way too long and to result in a very stylized version of the Bartley/Hoquet... to match and sit right next to my Yellow/Blowsperior I need a smaller, more human proportion fig. I an contemplating the bandai gundam fumina hoshino kit, but I am waiting for someone to get back to me about its exact height. Don't want to get it only to find it too tall ane end up building a weird 'waifu' kit (to each there own but im not into it. esp considering those are sposed to be high school kids in Build fighters!!!) For the Bartley I'd have to leave the oversized chest piece off too!

Not sure if this should go here or the plastic model posts, since it's Mospeada and not Macross.. Will happily move if it's the wrong spot. So I'm doing this thing with a 1/15 aoshima Yellow ride armor kit. I got one of those Star wars non-scale Finn figures to be a donor body. Because it's body was roughly 1/15th even though it had a giant head. Doing some work with epoxy putty to create proper shoulders and upper leg armor. That whole squarish middle place between the arms is going to be hidden, so it's not especially pretty. Progress coming along..
