  1. The shuttles move to New York has already been a disaster having suffered water damage when they decided to be cute and float it up the Hudson unprotected, and now this. I don't give a damn about the museum being an aircraft carrier, most of the frames on that deck are very rare and should NEVER be exposed to the elements. The shuttle would be better off moved inside the New England Air Museum at Windsor Locks CT. Either that more preferably the USAF museum.
  2. Well I thought about and I did find one issue with this sale to Disney, it could kill Dark Horse comics. The SW comics are its bread and butter, its biggest sellers, but Disney already has its own comic company with Marvel. I don't see it ending well. Either DH gets bought out by Disney or loses its license and slowly dies.
  3. That would be an easy tradition to keep with the castle logo.
  4. Word of advice keep building satalites, even if you don't have the uplink or nexus for them. They take forever to build so stockpiling while you can saves time.
  5. This is true. Like I touched upon in the Prometheus thread plot wise there is almost no difference between it and King Kong. Powerful guy finances a ship to sail to a mysterious place no one has ever been using an old cryptic map for his own special reason. Once there he discovers ancient ruins, doesn't find exactly what he's looking for, everything is hostile, and crew starts dying. Powerful man finds something else, tries to control it, and chaos ensues. Big beast obsessively chases main girl, ends up dead after getting distracted by other enemy. Main girl survives more or less all alone. The End.
  6. Per the telegraph: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/silvio-berlusconi/8410667/Silvio-Berlusconi-the-man-of-2500-court-hearings.html
  7. Reading into Silvio Berlusconi's previous legal troubles, and apparently in Italy it DOES work that way. Twice he was convicted and was set free during appeal due to statute of limitations.
  8. At the end of the day this is going to mean nothing. The main guy who the Italians were after already had his sentence reduced to a single year. That's without using any of his appeals which may take years to run their course. In the meantime everyone convicted is free pending said appeals. The United States also will not extradite a 80+ year old man unless he's a war criminal or wanted for a violent crime. Even then its iffy. Also 3-5 years is usually average for tax evasion not a slap on the wrist. Anything longer like Capone's 11 year sentence is considered excessive. Another thing is if the Japanese corporations really gave a damn about criminals involved in projects that coke head gun nut Nishizaki would have had his creative control of Yamato stripped years ago. Tatsunoko also isn't going to turn its back on a compnay that stood with them during the battle over the SDF:Macross rights. HG itself was cleared of any involvement in this case, with all of the charges falling on Agrama himself. The last matter that has been touched apon elsewhere is the statute of limitations is running out sometime in 2013. I'm not as familiar with Italian law, but the plan might be to appeal then squat on it untill time runs out.
  9. Well I just pre-ordered WWE 13. Looks to be pretty good this year, they dropped the road to wrestlemania and added an attitude era storyline. They've finally stopped gimping the Diva's division allowing them to have 6 women matches and partake in most of the regular matches they were blocked from. Roster highlights: Current and classic Rock Stone Cold Steve Austin Dx, current, and blue blood HHH Lita Trish Stratus Farooq(NOD+acolytes) and Bradshaw(acolyte+JBL) Ken Shamrock Road Dogg and Mr. Ass Billy Gunn DDP Diamond Dallas Paige(DLC) Brian Pillman N.O.D and current Mark Henry Brett Hart Big Boss Man Road Warriors Eddie Guerrero Val Venis(DLC) And most importantly making his return appearence since the original smackdown game The Godfather complete with Ho Train! You know I'm teaming him with Brodus "funkasaurus" Clay in universe mode. Finally in case any of you and wondering what the pre-order bonus is, its.... "Iron" Mike Tyson.
  10. I'm pretty sure the "end turn for the entire turn button" for the PS3 is select. On the 360 its the back button.
  11. I have the Xbox 360 version. The cool thing is there's not much of a difference between versions. The only advantage a pc version has is like all PC games: the ability to mod the game. The developers definatly didn't dumb this thing down for the consoles.
  12. Now keep in mind I haven't seen this film yet(planning for this weekend), but apparently the premise is the mob owns a time machine sending people they don't like back in time to disapear, so a guy sent back before them can whack them and dispose of the bodies. I gotta asks, what's preventing them from just sending someone back in time right into the mouth of a volcano, or at crush depth under the ocean? Why send a hitman back in the first place?
  13. If I remember correctly a couple of the toys ended up being released in the original G1 transformers line, alongside Microman, Diaclone, macross, and what ever company originally put out Omega Supreme, and Shockwave.
  14. Yeah I was just being a wise arse nothing more, I don't exactly hate Gatsby, but I don't much care for required reading in school. Especially books like Bridge To Terabithia(yeah I'm going on a cool trip, forget telling my one only friend, and leave her to die alone in a forest creek), The Giver(dystopian anti-conformist garbage), That Was Then This Is Now(jerkwad teens do drugs and steal cars untill bad stuff happens), To Kill A Mockingbird(well written, but it all comes down to racist hicks convict innocent black man, father gets away with abusing daughter), and worst of all A Catcher In The Rye(obnoxious emo douche with OCD invades New York can't even lay a hooker and makes fun of gays). I did like Macbeth, War & Peace, Hamlet, and several others all of which were better written than Prometheus. Btw who is Dan Brown? The Da Vinci guy? The last none sci-fi/fantasy novels I've read have been Rainbow Six, Sun Tzu's Art Of War, and Bernard Cornwell's various historical fiction. This...
  15. Yes and Jersey Shore is reality tv's commentary on the "American Dream," wealth, and materialism in the 2010's. Just because its old doesn't make it good.
  16. I'm playing X-com for the 360. I agree the game does move fast, maybe a little too fast. I was actually having quite a bit of trouble untill I figured out building a satalite uplink and satalite are directly responsible for earning money and shooting down UFO's. I also noticed that capturing enemies gets you their weapon intact and shooting them gets the broken parts. Exploding them gets you nothing.

  18. That's the point I was trying to make with those Kong quotes. Those glaring character issues hurt the movies believabilty pretty badly and the film loses its sence of grounding. All Eugimon has done to explain it is make conjecture, and cite bad horror movie tropes, like its suddenly okay for a movie to be poorly written because other films were poorly written first. Yes the movie has dialog on creation/religion/father/son/offspring, but once the idiot pets the worm it all gets dumped for an uneven zombie murderfest combined with "hey I want immortality dammit! Wake the cranky alien!"
  19. Well you made the claim, now the burden of proof is on you. Explain everyones actions in a way that makes sense, that doesn't result in "they were mentally retarded to begin with".
  20. I'm watching the original 30s King Kong on dvd with the Harrihausen commentary on, when they said something that I think applies very appropriately to Prometheus. Kong and Prometheus in overall plot are quite similar, but different in execution. "It is a well written film, well thought out. It takes you by the hand from the depression era to the most outragious fantasy you've ever seen on the screen, and you believe it. By the time you get to Skull Island you believe what you are about to see. That's an acomplishment these days. Because kids today due to television have be brainwashed to want action right away, and this builds gradually. You have to invest a lot of your self in the characters before you get to the island. otherwise its a meaningless exercise. You have to know who everyone is, what their motivations are, why they are going, and feel for them then once they're in this incredibly insane enviroment you still feel grounded. That's why I believe it, that's why I'm still hanging on to the characters running through this world, no matter what I'm seeing, I'm still believing the guys that are taking me through this adventure." there's also Merrian C. Cooper's archived thoughts on filmmaking 101 with Kong "If you noticed in this thing I got my love story going, the boy fell in love with the girl. You understood who Denholm was, you understood the character of the captain, I got em all. So once you got that chase going I never had to stop to explain a single damned thing. Cause you know, you understood it! I spent not 15 minutes, I spent nearly 40 minutes explaining this. This is why its so bad on television, they cut most of that you jump right into danger, and you don't know nothing." That lack of grounding and understanding in the characters is what ends up killing Prometheus. You don't need to explain the mysteries surrounding skull island, why a giant ape is there, and why a tribe worships him to make the movie work, but you do need to explain why someone would WANT to go there and WHY! Scott understood all the above when he made Alien, with its characters and deliberate pacing so even when they did something stupid you could believe it. So what the hell happened between then and now?
  21. Me too. As for not having any idea what it looks like I would laugh my a** off if it turns out the whole reason they aren't showing it is because its Mazinger/Mazinkaiser. Although to be honest what I've read of the plot reminds me a ton of Godannar. Older veteran pilot paired with younger newbie love interest, enemies that mutate taking on various forms, and an entire world defense force made of multinational robots. The biggest question I have is what is up with the birds/angels/flying things that is in the background of all the movie posters so far?
  22. Bingo on the target.
