  1. Honestly the best part of 2040 is the revamped Nene. I love how she's both cute and competent now. Overall in the end it's not a bad show, but its not something to write home about.
  2. So according to the Tiger Mask W's official Japanesse twitter page two new women's wrestling characters are going to be introduced soon. The first is a tall toned blonde American woman named Queen Elizabeth, and the other is a Japanese woman with red hair and some facepaint named Pain Fox... Yup they're based on Charlotte and Asuka. https://mobile.twitter.com/TigerMaskW/status/817345755656568833/photo/1?ref_src=twsrc^tfw
  3. TPM- They end the Trade Federation's blockade & occupation of Naboo. Good reason to celebrate, and yet this is tempered by Qui Gon's funeral. AotC-No celebration here, just an ominous feeling of dread as clone troopers muster out and Anakin marries Padme in a muted and quiet ceremony. RotS-NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! celebrating in this one. RO- The rebels loose 95% of their fleet on an unauthorized mission in what ANH's opening crawl assured us was their first major victory against the Empire. I'd say some solemness is required. ANH-Just blew up the Empire's planet killer super weapon moments before it blew you up and this was accomplished by what's left of your fighter squadrons, a farmboy bush pilot, and a mercenary smuggler in a commercial freighter. I'd say celebrating is worth it. ESB- Lost Han, lost a hand, lost a base, and a lost fleet staring off into space. No celebrating in this one. RotJ- Went toe to toe with the Empire in a fleet action that was rigged against you and not only destroyed their new super weapon, mauled their fleet severly, they also took out the Emperor and his right hand man. It's party Time! TFA- A mixed sense of relief and joy at destroying the latest super weapon tempered with the high cost of what it took to achieve it along with the sense it's only the begining.
  4. The more I think about Vader's fan pandering two minutes of badassness the more I find it's addition pointless, excessive, and continuity breaking. Not only does the scene not mesh well with how he's portrayed at the begining of A New Hope, it also creates the plot hole of having captured the rebel's flagship intact. A huge part of ANH is Leia being the Empire's only link to finding the location of and destroying the rebel base. Now you have the flagship along the entire crew, and captain who have all been to Yavin IV to search and interrogate. Honestly the ship should have just been destroyed in combat after transmitting the plans, or if boarded self destructed. At the very least they should have made the rebel base Dantooine in the process of being abandoned to better mesh with Leia's not willing to actively betray the rebellion and giving away an old base instead.
  5. Flew out to San Fran over the weekend to attend the North American premiere of Girls Und Panzer Der Film. Its a pretty damn good entertaining movie. Very action packed and well paced. I loved the little references and injokes the film made to things like World of Tanks and war movies like 1941. One thing that did kind of take me by surprise was how much the movie lampooned the old imperial war era mentality with Chi Ha Tan Academy and their suicide charges.
  6. Have you ever seen what happens when a chimp attacks a human? Half your size, but can literally rip your face off.
  7. To be honest Scottish crowds are pretty insane...
  8. Seeing the trailers for this I'm reminded of something disturbing from the original 1991 film. So the enchantress at the begining curses the Beast and casts a spell over the castle turning all the servants into inanimate objects right? Remember the room in the castle that held the rose where everything else was destroyed, smashed, or defaced? How many of his servants do you think he killed in a fit of rage?
  9. Who are you and what have you done with Myk?
  10. I kind of wish I didn't look at this thread right before going to sleep last night. Anyways, looking at those munchkins all I can say is... Jim Henson presents: Xenobabies!
  11. I have that HG RX-78 kit and couldn't help but chuckle at how excited he got about it and its inner frame because of how flawed the kit really is. For example the head has zero articulation, the frame limits articulation, the armor kind of rests on the frame not attaching to it making it prone to falling off, and because it has a core booster you can store inside it gimmick the upper half just kind of sits on the lower body making it flimsy. All in all it feels like a very fragile kit. The system injection looks nice though.
  12. The entire show becomes a stupid mess when you realize the giant plot hole from the first episode. They make a huge deal about not going back to the same time period and getting a do over to fix what they screwed because the same person can't coexist with their past self at the same time without being turned into some merged jellified blob. So how do you get around this? Send in the "B team" made up of a different group of people to fix what the "A team" screwed up and take out Flynn's team before they make a move. Given the "B team" would be armed with knowledge of their predecessor's screw ups from their reporting back it would a piece of cake to stop everything before it happens. This series should have began and ended with the Hindenburgh.
  13. Meanwhile on Sir Mix A Lot presents Baby Got Back: The Animation... Butt Guillotine & Butt Shoryuken! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ufce1RqNH-c
  14. 8 year old? Nope. Too many small parts and too fragile in comparison to say a standard 3 3/4 Iron man action figure.
  15. meanwhile at my local comic store ironically called The Comic Store... They've actually expanded the aisle into two rows now.
  16. I just got back from seeing it, and I have to say its pretty damned good. I sincerly had my reservations about Anno directing a Godzilla given his penchant for going off the deep end story wise, and blowing through budgets leaving things unfinished. With this film though he really hit it out of the park. I really recommend it especially if you liked the more serious installments of the Godzilla franchise like the original, 1984, or GMK.
  17. Basically she's the other side of the coin to the earth federation engineer. She grew up on a sealed colony without windows like Side 3 and got drafted into the Zeon army as an engineer. Her first combat deployment involved the raid on Side 7 to destroy the V project where she lost friends close to her and this is her first time actually setting foot on the colony in the documentary and she is have feelings of deja vu that she belongs there. The part where she is staring at the Gundam head is her revealing that after Char blew it off in the final battle it wasn't lost to space, but captured by retreating Zeon soldiers and used for mobile suit research post war. She regrets taking part in that research as it led to more death and destruction. She then wishes humanity would have chosen a different path that used technology to bring people together and elighten instead of the vicious cycle they were locked in for most of the early Universal Century. Her final words are a mirror of the Earth Federation engineer in that while he was born on Side 7 and lives on earth he longs for life on the colony, she grew up on an enclosed cylinder and longs for the chance to visit earth and have a sky above her.
  18. EPISODE II Anakin- "I... I killed them. I killed them all. They're dead. Every single one of them... and not just the men, but the women and the children too. They're like animals, and I slaughtered them like animals!" Padme- "To be angry is to be human." EPISODE III Padme- "You killed younglings! It's like I don't even know you!"
