General TV & Streaming thread

That's the thing about the Memphis Belle film from the 90s, it is arguably the most accurate yet inaccurate historical film ever made, in that almost everything in it happened to some crew at some point, but not just the Memphis Belle crew on their last mission. Early in the film's production the decision was made to not depict the Belle's final mission with any accuracy, but show the hell a typical mission could be at it's worst during the worst point in time of the daylight bombing campaign for the 8th Airforce. -
Well... I did it. I bought another big damn castle to go along with the other big damn Lion Knight's Castle. This one is the Black Falcon's Mountain Fortress from Bricklink's Designer program. Only 30,000 are being made on a one time run and preorders started about an hour ago with it nearly being sold out already.

My friend I just got back from watching Argylle, and far and away there are much worse films out there that you could take your wife to for date night. This is miles ahead of Ridley Scott's Napoleon. Honestly my only complaint is it may be overly long, but it is enjoyable and fun. If you liked Mathew Vaughn's other films like the King's Man series you'll definitely have a blast with this. My best advice is to go into this blind. Do not look at spoilers or any other reviews as there is a chance it will ruin the film. That said enjoy date night with the wifey! 😉- 1514 replies

These were first issued with many of the sets from the City Diver sub theme. I miss those sets badly. I had the stingray cove submarine and shark attack mini sub. -

Just think, all that destruction is happening because Master Cheeks wanted to play grab ass with the covenant hoe.

I figure I'd show the new/upcoming City Space Construction mech suit and Interstellar Spaceship now that they are built with the Avatar AMP suit thrown in for scale. Of the two my favorite is the spaceship. I was a little disingenuous calling it a Buzz Lightyear movie reject the other day. After building it, it honestly reminds me of the old Starcom toys from the 80s with it's design and aesthetic and that's a good thing in my book. The build is nice and solid while being pretty straightforward with no stickers. It has a unique gimmick where you press on the purple battery and the engines deploy outward another thing reminding me of Starcom. The thing on the wing is a drone/flightpack for the pilot. There's not really anywhere to stow it away besides there. The construction mechsuit on the other hand is kind of the opposite. It's fiddly, doesn't feel very solid, and apart from the space logo prints on the shoulders had a bunch of warning stripe stickers that need to be attached. The left arm is a jackhammer that sits loosely and the right is a grasper claw. The best part is probably the pilot. The helmet and armour are completely new with a four square stud back that you can build attachments onto. The set is rounded out by a small drill drone and a rock formation with power crystals to mine. Overall a lot of the kits flaws can be overlooked due to it being on the most basic cheaper end of the new Space line. I really can't wait to pickup the two rovers, base, and space station when they become available.

So how best can I describe Zach Snyder's Rebel Moon? This film is literally the equivalent of a 10 year old sitting in a sandbox alone smashing his GI Joe, Star Wars, Avatar, and Marvel figures together alongside a few 40k minis and some random anime figures he stole from his brother's shelf without permission in a reenactment of an old film his parents made him sit through that he couldn't sit still long enough to truly grasp.- 1514 replies

I hope you had better luck than I did when I went back tonight. All the new 2024 space stuff was pulled from the shelf. Apparently Wally pulled a no-no and got slapped on the wrist by Lego. I didn't realize what happened until I got to the register with another set that's supposed to be released in 2024, the police and muscle car chase set and was told it was an "unsellable item" and the confiscated it at the register. The only reason I picked that set up was due to last years police station being discounted to $56 dollars and I figured it would make a good additional surprise Christmas gift to go with the station.

Did some late Christmas shopping at Walmart today. Those Lego Avatar sets were on a steep discount and I couldn't resist another submarine. What was surprising is seeing the new Lego City Space sets out in the wild. They had the the Interstellar Ship(which honestly looks like a reject from the Buzz Lightyear line) and the Construction mech in addition to the Dreamzzz and Friends crossover kits. As far as I know these aren't supposed to hit store shelves for at least another couple of weeks.

He's lucky it was a later model. The early F-104's had a downward firing ejector seat through the floor of the cockpit. Using that would have made him a human lawn dart. -

The only time the Federation could even come close to being accused of a war crime in the One Year War is at Side 5 during the Battle of Loum. That was when the Zeon Fleet tried to hijack another colony to drop and then proceeded to use the colonies as cover for the ensuing battle untill their mobile suits showed up. This resulted in several colonies being destroyed in the crossfire.- 3717 replies

I find myself saying that a lot with licensed sets. For 10 dollars more I could get an entire police station/prison with a helicopter, two boats, and seven minifigs.

Not for me. The guy that made this film has a youtube channel that does a let's watch of bad/cheesy movies from the 70s, 80s, and 90s created a patreon to get the funding for this.- 1514 replies
