Shoji Kawamori "created" Macross: load of bull?
nanoplasm replied to danth's topic in Movies and TV Series
Like, getting shot by your own gunship because someone jacked it from you? -
Yeah, it gets kind of confusing since there were normal releases, exclusive release, and promotional releases. There are three Sheryl SQ figure molds. The first Sheryl mold (Universal Bunny) had four variants. The original color (normal release), the original color with clear parts (exclusive release), and the blue and red release for trade-show give-away (promo releases). The second Sheryl mold was the TV final concert outfit and the stand is the shape of angel wings, designed to pair with the TV final concert Ranka Lee figure. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Macross-F-Frontier-SQ-10-Figure-Sheryl-Nome-Banpresto-/390336366286 The short shorts is the third Sheryl mold. This version was assigned the same name as the first release "Macross F Movie Edition - False Diva - SQ Figure : Sheryl Nome", so they added a "2" in the end to avoid confusion/duplication (and usually to promote this is the second figure from the same series, since the first one did so "well").

The one in the picture is the 3rd Sheryl (technically 4th, a the first one was released twice) figure. The 2nd one is the one wearing the final concert outfit from the TV ending, with out stretched arm like the final scene.

Behold! The little known "Special Ver" of the SQ X-over Bunny Sheryl! I found two of these in a UFO machine no where near Tokyo. These have clear hair and clear white bunny dress, and the base is the giant clockwork gears instead of the original oval black base. Maybe I am just seeing things, but I think they do have slightly better facial paint-job than the original release. As a fan pointed out at the official website, http://www.prizebp.jp/chara/49/201102/47399/. You can see her ass through the transparent white bunny skirt!

Catalog scan. Rough translation below. Point 1: Molding details oversaw by Kawamori Point 2: Dual mode cockpit (single / double seater) Point 3: Improvements to intake details Point 4: Gunpod can be attached in fighter mode Point 5: Locking mechanism added for stability in Gerwalk mode Point 6: Leg knee joints improvement for Gerwalk mode (really rough translation, but picture = 1000 words) Point 7: Letter "A" pose for the legs in Gerwalk mode (again, rough translation, picture speaks for itself) Point 8: Blade is removable when shield is attached to arm? Point 9: Crotch improvement? in Battroid mode Point 10: Finger Articulate with alternate gripping version for gunpod?

Where do I get gloves like those (with three stripes in the back) when I man handle my expensive toys?! -
You can order file 1&3 or pre-order all three issues online at retail price. Pre-order ends on the 7th in Japan. If anyone in the US wants me to middle for you, it will be 3450JPY shipped for one issue, 5950jpy for two issues, and 8450jpy for all three issues. Need payment upfront this time. Because every group buy I've hosted for MWF ended up with someone not paying. Please PM me if interested.

I guess I got spanked for posting my question in the wrong place. Anyways, looking for the source of this picture here. Thanks! It's also the center piece of the 2009 launch day poster.

Found this picture on the net, was wondering if anyone know where it came from? That's going to be my new favorite Hal's rendition of Minmay.

Bandai DX Chogokin YF-29 Durandal Valkyrie
nanoplasm replied to UN Spacy's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
YF-29 reused the legs of VF-25 (to save on start-up production cost and development time?), so there is a good reason not to upgrade the engines and just strap on more boosters. -
Macross themed debit/credit cards, do they exist?
nanoplasm replied to mrhillz's topic in Collectors
There was a series Valkyrie (VF-1x) credit cards put out by a Japanese bank. ; Too bad I didn't know anyone in Japan at that time. -
That will have to wait until next time when I stop by in HK. >_<

I found one at Time Tunnel in HK, but the damn shop wasn't open at the time.

eMail notification not working
nanoplasm replied to nanoplasm's topic in MW Site News & Member Feedback
hotmail is filtering @macrossworld.com at the server side. If I change my email to gmail.com, everything works fine. If I change my email to hotmail.com, it won't even show up if I added @macrossworld.com to the safe sender list. -
I don't seem to be getting email notification any more when there is a new PM... I checked the settings and everything seems to be in order.

EMS charges by weight, not by size. So all that extra cardboard isn't going to run up the shipping cost by that much.

On the opposite page that's not shown, they do say "improved gerwalk mode with figure 'A' stance" -
