I bought 5 copies Echo in one visit. =) I will send anyone a copy if they want to pay for postage.

Second. SDF w/o Mikimoto = do not want. The kit will be released in 4 days. Anyone else on the sideline like me? AMZ jp already has a bunch of 1 star reviews, mainly people complaining about the price and re're're'release on the BD format.

I think Bandai will re-release the VF-25x when there is a slow month.
-
Just reporting it is confirmed that no re-release for any VF-25x in the month of August or before that.
-
No VF-25x reissue for August... stay tuned.

Yamato 1/3000 SDF-1 modification and paint up...

If they ever make a live action DYRL, they can just use this ship here as the studio scale model. -
I lived in a place where Mazinger Z and Macross (and every robot series in between, with the exception of Gundam) were aired on TV within a 5 year time span. The series were aired in the order of their production date, and the production quality (animation, mech design, storeline) of each new series was generally better than the previous ones. But I've never develop lingering interest in anything else (from that time period) other than SDF:M. Just saying there was a clear improvement in SDF:M when compared to stuff that came before, not just because SDF:M was reflecting the culture of th 80. =) On the other hand, I just remember I liked Gurren Lagann a lot. Even if GL was full of fan-service, they weren't as cringe inducing as some of the ones from Frontier. =p That was my reaction at first when I saw the artwork like 3 years ago. =p But I am so desensitized now, that it's actually likable... in fact I like it better than the Monster Girl one (butt nakid Ranka is better less wrong than Ranka strip teasing).

Back in the high school (VHS) days, I had the opportunity to show Gunbuster to non-anime fans (males and females) on several occasions. Sure there was the initial giggles and snickers, but no one made a big fuss about the fan service. The story was the main draw, as everyone who saw the first 30 minutes of the series insisted on watching the whole thing until the end.
-
I don't dislike fan service, but it can be done in a more tasteful manner. For example, Gunbuster (1, not 2) was fan service galore, but it was enjoyable and made the characters more endearing. Everything was presented in a plausible fashion, that doesn't detract the audience from the flow of the story.

Minmay's shower scene was there for character development. It shows Hikaru is (maybe a little reluctantly) not the type to take advantage of an attractive girl in a vulnerable situation (unlike Roy, who will probably be all over Minmay if he was in Hikaru's shoe). Also most viewers can relate to the behavior of the Minmay and Hikaru; there is an obvious attraction with each other (especially when stranded in a deserted area of the ship), but not enough attraction to start washing each other's back at the first opportunity. The pool scenes (where Sheryl flung her stuff) from F were also for character development, but the only thing they've achieved is help the viewer to establish who is the bigger perv in the series (and that Alto is probably gay). Regarding the Roy and Michael comparison... Roy is a drunken lecherous war vet, but he probably became this way due to something that happened in the past, was it the war? (later Zero showed us what he had went through prior to SDF:M). Michael is a hopeless womanizer, just because his childhood playmate has a loli microne condition? (or was it because his guardian/sister was falsely accused?) I can sympathize with Roy's condition, but not with Michael... Lastly, steamed tuna buns that look like oppai (appeared both in the TV show and the movie), nuf said. (or is that justifiable as another Easter egg?) But I have no complains when it comes to the songs and Valkyrie porn in Frontier (I didn't say mecha porn, because that would include the surfing capital ship).

The problem is that the supply is limited, whether you pre-order from 1 place or multiple places isn't going to change the total number of units available. But ordering from muiltiple places does increase the chance of getting one unit from at least somewhere. This is no different than buying multiple lotterty tickets to increase the chance of winning the jackpot. No one will be getting screwed in the end, any pre-ordered units that are not picked up by the customer will go right back on the shelf as available stock for sale.

Unless the shop has special relationship with Bandai (amiami), there is no guarantee how many pre-orders they can fulfill. It's like sticks of RAM during the RAM shortage, distribution of VF-171EX is on allocation and the final distributed quantity will be determined at the time of release. Pre-order from as many places as you can, as long as they don't expect payment up front.

Don't worry, mine are from the wholesale channel. They are not from any online retailer stores.

I've pre-ordered 12 units, not sure how many I am going to get. I am keeping 2 and Macrossfan00 is getting 1. Any left over will be offered here first (at compariable non-ebay prices), then Franks and eBay.

Flashback 2012 is more of an ending credit for DYRL. With the same team that did DYRL, that's why it's striking a cord with us old SDFM/DYRL fan base. The other true sequels are produced by different people.
