uh.. Schizo, just because there were melee weapons in some of those series, they were hardly prominent weapons. Mac Frontier was getting closer though, but still a ways off from having a laser-space-sickle. As for the VF-25F... Are you kidding? It gets trashed every second episode. Alto just some how doesn't die.. WHICH HE SHOULD. Ozma took a severe hit too, but he did preemptively use his point defense barrier to block most of it. He still got messed up pretty badly though. Kudos for actually taking visible damage. That was one of my few favorite parts of Frontier. As for 3.... yea, Mac Frontier screwed up there. I agree. Mac 7 did the same too. Also agreed on 4.

I gotta admit, the 0S does look amazing. Proportionally functional, solid-looking and well armored... and one of the best head designs on a VF. Provided you can get past the possible floppiness, it just looks great.

Bandai 1/72 Scale Macross Frontier Model Kit Thread Ver.3

Thanks to the guys who spent the time to record Alto's level of failure. In fact, Macross would be more interesting with a constant-clown pilot... Except don't make him the main character -
I would lose interest if... 1. They start using more melee weapons than actual guns ala Gundam. 2. The mecha in this become so resilient to damage that they can take direct hits and not suffer crippling damage ala Gundam. 3. If piloting skill and excellence takes a backseat to the technology of the mecha they're piloting or pilots are able to bring out inherently suppressed super abilities that seem to defy all odds but only emerge when the pilot is under a stressful situation. What a load of bull. 4. If the love triangles and singing get worse than what it already is and have a larger role than piloting itself. Mac Frontier was already pushing the boundaries in terms of this.

Roy already lectured Shin about it in Mac Zero (The mechanics to be more precise, but Roy didn't dispute that, so I felt that he had the same opinion). The best pilots respect their planes. Even Isamu was affectionate towards his YF-19. -
I skimmed the first episode and all I saw were car hoods with legs running around with a ball, committing every foul and boundary fault in basketball. Oh well, it's not like Basketball was all that interesting in the first place. inb4notanotherkidacemechapilotanime

No... Alto did jettison his packs way too much. Even when he didn't need to. In fact, most of his combat occurred in space, and jettisoning his packs would have only led to a disadvantage. But you're right about one thing, Alto trashed his VF-25 all the time without a second thought; he doesn't respect his planes at all -

G is Michaels. The blue one. the RVF is the green (Luca). The VF-25S is the Ozma (Grey). VF-25F is Alto (Red and White) -
For some games he really has to stretch it to try to make it funny and presentable even when the game is decent. I think he's admitted to that too when 'out of character'. Probably some of the best reviews are the ones where the game is obviously demented, and has been since our childhood. Games that we could barely get past when we were young, except that we had nothing frickin better to do. I can really relate to that, and its fun to watch him review stuff that makes me feel old. The Frankenstein review with the Game Genie was brilliant. One of my favorite moments.

Yea exactly. T1000's really arent all that indestructible. I wouldn't be surprised if the Plasma Rifles of the future (which seem to disintegrate metal and flesh on impact) would also deal significant irreversible damage to the T1000s. And has no one in the future designed hand held EMP grenades? They did use a EMP bomb in one episode, but it was supposedly huge... Any small ones? Or hell, we know from TTSC that high electric voltage can disable Terminators... Anyone got a lightning gun? John Connor should be sending his engineers into the past to start developing powerful anti terminator weaponry well in advance .

I'd cut them some slack, they're starting out and deserve some support. I really want to give them a try, and hope to order my next 1/72s from them.
-
I read the spoilers, but what i'm about to say next shouldn't really be a surprise... T-1000's are described as being indestructible by any known means... only vulnerable to freezing and melting ala Terminator 2. But you know... that's not quite true. It's been said before that the T1000 in T2 started to show increasing signs of irreparable damage after getting into numerous firefights with the T-800. He started acting strangely and exhibited twitchy movement, as if certain parts and joints were damaged. I think the consensus was that the T1000 is very resilient to damage, but is still hurt by explosives and sufficient concussive force, despite that it can put itself back together. It just isn't the same as it used to be though. With enough damage, you may be able to incapacitate it permanently.

I dont think that guy ever posted any pics of the breakage, so I don't really know if its reliable. -
There really aren't that many angles that expose the cockpit while its in battroid. Besides, I think that's what SK meant when he said that the VF-25 would not be quite as heavily armored and bulky like the others. Diversification is good!
-
Is the cockpit supposed to dig in deeper to the backplate then? Or does the back have more curvature? *starts gouging out the VF-25's innards*
-
Yea but it looks amazing. I really want to get one, but if I do, I won't have the money for all the new 1/72's

Haha, thats awesome papercraft, but my original comment was just a joke. I do own several macross figures, and definitely plan to buy more. I'm a bigger fan of the model kits for Mac Frontier though. Graham, I noticed in your collection that if you have at least 3 of any given VF, you have at least one of them in Gerwalk. Except for your Mac Frontier collection! INCONSISTENCY! I bet its because you don't like the DX gerwalk poses though, I'm sure, so it's excusable. However, what I do want to know is where can I get an Isamu Dyson figure? Ive seen that one several times here on the forums, but I still haven't found where I can order it online or anything. Was it exclusive and now no longer attainable? -
Whhhhhaaaaaaaaaaaat??????????????? SoC... Film? What are they thinking. They cannot be serious. That entire game was based on the fun of killing giants, it is not movie... no.. not even story book material. What's next? Katamari? Tetris!

Everything on these boards are too expensive for me. In fact, what am I doing here? =P -
Okay, true. Derek was tazed, but that was for like 5 minutes and Cameron was there in a flash, so I really didn't think too much about it. However, the factory out in the desert were Weaver's people. John Henry picked them up because he caught unprotected audio feed: "Zeira corp has obtained control of 7% of the world's coltan reserves. I've been scanning available sources for the keyword Coltan and I've detected this audio transmission on an unsecure line," says John Henry. Ziera Corp IS Weaver's company (You can see the logo in their elevators in Episode 21.) And I think its safe to say that John Henry detected the transmissions by routing through Zeira Corp's own facilities, as we've seen him do before. As Weaver gets up to leave, John Henry asks Weaver 'What are you doing?' as either a question about what she intends to do (slaughter everyone) and also as a question towards her ultimate objective behind gathering so much Coltan. The other thing is, if the source of the audio is NOT anythign to do with Ziera Corp, then how does Weaver figure out where its from? John Henry never discloses it to her before she leaves. Weaver KNEW where the plant was already, she just didn't know about the security breach. Also, another hint, although possibly weaker, is that when Weaver shows up in the factory, the workers who notice her don't freak out. They either know who she is, or think she's one of them. I got the feeling that it was because Weaver employed them, so they knew who she was. However, it could be that they just think she's one of the employees, since they don't seem to address her as Weaver. I wouldn't really place a lot of weight on that, but the rest of it seems to hold together. Also, I think the main reason why Weaver would have destroyed her own facility was because she knew the location was compromised (someone got in and shot one of her employees). Since the company was deliberately set up to not be traceable back to Ziera Corp (it was called some heat and desert ventilation company), she had to make sure that every possible lead back to Ziera was cut. This is also why she was so pissed off when one of the employees that were presumed dead was not found. That bald man that got away, faking his death, was clearly not in her memories as being one of her victims, so she knew he survived and was trying to hunt him down.

Yea, didnt the regular Super Packs already give the 1/72 wings a hell of a time in Gerwalk mode? These Armored packs looks to be twice as heavy. -
Aw cmon. They're Americanizing the bishou stuff. Everything I didn't care for in FMP.

Uh... No one captured Derek. I think you mean Sarah. But even so, if that's the case, Weavers former employees, including the now-dead-bald guy who implanted the tracker into Sarah, must have switched employers after Weaver tried to kill off her own men. This seems highly improbable to me, especially because they all went into hiding to escape Weaver's wrath. Keep in mind that Weaver is also a machine, and would be just as capable (if not more) at tracking them down than John Henry's brother. The sudden switch of employers, as well as hired hitmen, formerly employees of Weaver, who work alongside machines? That's too much of a stretch for me. Yea I said that, but I couldnt remember the source. You got it though. I'm not sure if its completely confirmed although apparently the source is reliable. Wait for the official announcement I guess, but don't be too heartbroken about it
