    Well, the original plan was for the TV series footage to be CGI'd over, and all four (three) movies to be out within a year. I'm certainly happy they didn't go that route. Duke Togo (for example) probably isn't.

    So... there are DOZENS of robot shows that have big GAR scenes. There's one that doesn't. And y'all want THIS robot show to be like every other robot show...? Er, okay. Fine. Eva becomes Mazinger. Mazinger is still Mazinger. Eva is screwed. Thanks.

    Again, as I said before, the series switched gears halfway through. The first half of the series is relatively light, with a fair amount of comedy. Then the second half gets heavy and dark. Why shouldn't Rebuild follow suit?

    Errr... sorry, you got it, too. But you got it before I got pissed about so many people NOT getting it. Again, over the past day or so, it's been nothing but, "This movie was confusing and bleak! It lacked explanation, and all the characters were depressed and depressing! SINCE WHEN WAS EVA LIKE THIS!?!" In the turmoil, I forgot about the pioneers. Again, I apologize.

    Y'all are not alone. Me, I'm glad that when I saw it, I saw it with three friends (one American, two Japanese) and that we could afford the luxury of heading to a café afterwards for an hour or two to peruse the film program and discuss what we just saw. After the end of that discussion, I felt far less disoriented than I did when I first walked out of the theater. As for your question, I have two possible answers, both COMPLETELY conjectural... ONE: the "artistic" answer: TWO: the "fickle" answer: HOWEVER...
