  1. Not that I've ever seen. Nanase's, however, are DEFINITELY only for fashion. Kawamori said so. (EDIT: Unless that was more Shaloom nonsense... I can't recall, alas.)
  2. *ahem* *I* translated that one, thanks very much... http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?showtopic=28072&page=2#entry680780
  3. But... it's Itano vs. Itano... that's not fair.
  4. There's no option for "They're equally awesome"...
  5. But... it tells a completely different story than the series does...
  6. Someone played this at the party I was at last night... the song itself isn't terribly interesting, I don't think, but the video is HYSTERICAL.
  7. But again, I *like* watching Flashback 2012. I think as a music video collection, it's pretty damn GOOD. FB7, on the other hand...
  8. You're giving it too much credit.
  9. We TRIED to lower expectations... But yeah, it's simply not good. Flashback 2012 and Nyan Clip have some interesting visuals and clever editing, but FB7 is just dull.
  10. It's 6:15 in the morning, and I just got back from the theater. Lots of fun, but I wish the seats had a little more legroom... I was the only foreigner there, and the audience was definitely an old-school group, mostly guys in their forties. Not exactly the Frontier target audience, and I noticed that a number of people left between DYRL and Wings of Farewell. The theater was probably less than half-full. The movies themselves were awesome, of course. I saw a lot of details in Plus that I never noticed before, like the fact that the arrival and departure signs in the spaceport (when Myung is leaving Eden) were written in Zentradi. Oh, and the movie is slightly censored... the phone-sex-type talk in Idol Talk ("Glad to be home with you, stroking gently up and down...") is cut out, weirdly enough. Other than that, I didn't notice any issues with the audio. Everything sounded clear. If there was any problem, it was that the audio was cranked pretty high. DYRL... yes, the BD version. This was my first time seeing it. The edits of course are distracting, as was the "explanation" of the story tacked on to the opening. As I'm sure most people know by now, the picture is mostly good, sometimes blurry... but I have to say I didn't like it. DYRL has always been a very visually dark movie, and here, it seemed almost too colorful. Yellows and reds were especially highlighted. Still, I was grinning like a kid through most of it... I never thought I'd ever get to see DYRL on a big screen. By about a third of the way through Wings of Farewell, it was getting close to 4:00 AM, and I was getting extremely sleepy.I never drifted off, though, thanks to the general uncomfortableness of the chair, and the fact that as soon as I started nodding, something on-screen would explode REALLY LOUD. I kinda wish I'd gone on a night where they were showing The False Diva, since I haven't seen that on a big screen, either... but Wings of Farewell is a better movie, and it's been a while since I saw it. So yeah, good times. And although I got tired, I never got bored. If they did something like this again, I'd definitely sign up for it.
  11. First song I ever "slow danced" to! And the girl was darn cute! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2vTYmT-V6NI
  12. More JITTERBUG... courtesy VF5SS:
  13. Nope, deleted outright. Anyway, nothing to do with this thread... or Macross... or (even) Robotech... but this video is AMAZING:
  14. Again, he posted it on Robotech.com as well... ...but it got deleted there.
  15. Well, that's the nice thing about Frontier. You've got the homages and the shout-outs for the old fans, and "modern" stuff for the new fans. That way, everyone's happy. Except Renato, of course.
  16. You mean the year-and-one month between "Itsuwari no Utahime" and "Nyan-Kuri"? Or the three months between "Nyan-Kuri" and "Sayonara no Tsubasa"? Or the year and a half between "Sayonara no Tsubasa" and "Macross FB7"?
  17. "Pehaps"...? "Perhaps"...!?! Jeez, what's wrong with young people these days...
  18. Not as much as you might think. In the movie program, Megumi Ogata (Shinji) talks about how the voice recording was done soon after the Tohoku quake...
  19. ARRRGH!! I made the wrong choice...? Can I redo...?
  20. Sorry, that was me. I mean... I was up here, you were down there... I kinda had to go... Seemed like a funny idea at the time... Anyway, yeah, I apologize. EDIT: Oh, and apropos nothing... http://www.robotech.com/community/forum/read.php?id=2175431&forumid=31
  21. *whew* False alarm. I got my ticket and I'll be seeing it tomorrow night. Not sure which Frontier movie is playing, but I don't really care...
