  1. He sure is! DYNAMITE EXPLOSION ONCE AGAIN!!! (No, I get you...but hey, if you keep setting cheap shots up, I'll keep taking 'em.)
  2. Huh? Oh...CHAIRMAN Mao! I was thinking...well, never mind.
  3. God, yes! Why should music have any part in Macross?
  4. Basara would say he coverted them with his music. Me, I think he coverted them with his Valk. ...and I think Geperunichi was the antimatter black hole on steroids. With, um, tree trunks growing out of it...
  5. Oh yeah, I get the feeling that Basara is completely hopeless in the "real" world, and that he'd starve without Ray looking out for him. At least we can be sure that fame won't change him...he'll be the same maddening oddball he always was... And, as I recall...some tone-deaf thugs DID try to give him a whompin'. It didn't work too well. And as for promoting himself...Dude, he flies out into the middle of battles in a candy apple red Valk and sings at aliens! What better promotion could you hope for...?
  6. Several have been made...mostly as drama albums. One of the things I like about Macross is that it's a future history, and yet (unlike, say, U.C. Gundam...which, by the way, I also love), it's not completely bewildering. In other words, it's huge, but not too huge. Macross Zero was a nice enough revisit, I don't think we need "The 08th Destroid Defender Team" (which would, I'm sure, be a thirteen episode OVA. You would start with 143 major characters, and in each and every episode, twleve of them would get shot, blown up, mashed by asteroids, left behind on Mars, etc. until there's no one left...except the plucky main character, who in the final episode, gets to drive the brand-spanking new Orguss Valkyrie...and gets blown up).
  7. Ah. When I hear the word "whiny," I always expect something like, "RaaaAAAyyy, Mylene won't stop LOOOKING at meeeeeeee..." I'd be pretty pissed too if I were a rock singer and got booked in some posh resort hotel (or an old folks home...or a pre-school..."If I told them once, I told them a thousand times...put Fire Bomber first and Puppet Show last..."). But you raise an interesting question...how DOES Basara make his living? I don't think it's through his music...at least, not at first. I can't imagine him doing anything with a lot of money except giving it to Ray and saying, "Here. You take care of this. I'm going to go play my guitar."
  8. I'll say it again: http://www.geocities.com/sixtydeuce/sixtyd...roductions.html He's fansubbing the whole series (he's doing it by himself, though...so the wait between episodes is...long. He's almost done though). The movies are fine if you just want to get the story, but I think they're terrible as movies. Since they're just mashed-up episodes you'll hit a climax, and think the movie is over, and then it goes on...you hit another climax, and think that now it's GOTTA be over, and then it goes on...and just at a point where there is no climax, they just stop abruptly. Of course, this doesn't apply to the third one, which has a deifnite ending. And that ending is well worth it.
  9. Thank you. I feel the same way, I just couldn't find the right words to express it...
  10. Crap...y'all gonna start hunting me down now, ain't ya? "Space age hair care product," though...I like that. Shades of Five Star Stories. Too bad that's not what's going on. By the way, I looked at the "Frontier NOW" (OST 1) entry at amazon.co.jp, but there's no track listing yet. It had BETTER have the Nyan-Nyan jingle, though...
  11. Wasn't there a Pizza Hut box in Evangelion 1.0 also...? I guess it's the fast food of choice for giant robot pilots.
  12. Yeah...on a ship that flew into a black hole. Talk about your cautionary tales!
  13. Did you also find it weird that they changed stuff they had already subbed for the DE? ("Niang Niang, Niang Niang, how're ya doin'"...? )
  14. If we find a link to download the single next week, may we post it?
  15. QUICK! Go IMMEDIATELY to http://www.geocities.com/sixtydeuce/sixtyd...roductions.html and begin your journey to U.C. heaven...
  16. Not quite...but if he edits "Booby Trap" so that the Zentradi shoot first, then he'll deserve a thumpin'.
  17. I agree completely...I read that and thought..."wait a sec...have we ever seen that before...?" I mean, not including Exsedol's pulsating brain in DYRL...
  18. Don't worry...there's quite a few of us how live in same city as Minmay's voice. (Actually, two of Minmay's voices... http://macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?showtopic=9275 ) Anyway, that's good enough for me. You can have Ranka's number. And remember, she won't be born until 2043...jailbait on a whole new level...
  19. If they do it well: fine. If they do it badly, but naked: also fine. Any other options: yes, we'll hate you.
  20. I could play it fine with VLC on my Mac G4...
  21. Only some of it is Japanese...the rest is...something else. (Protoculture? Zentradi? Mayan? Zolan? Supervision Army? Galactic Whale?)
  22. I am! Along with 415 of my best buddies. But I got the smaller version...only 297.6 MB, and the picture doesn't freeze.
  23. I still think of it mostly as a between-meal snack to the full-course meals of MSG, MSZG, MSGZZ (kinda sorta), and CCA. I never thought of it as shallow, though...if it is, I think it's simply because they didn't have 40+ episodes to play around with like the TV shows did. And yeah...every Gundam show has betrayals and switching loyalties, but 0083's really came out of nowhere (and, I might add, went nowhere). But who cares? It's got the Dendrobium!!!
