  1. I finally finished it a few months ago...I thought the ending generated some interest, but that the story really died when Liu Bei did. Now I'm reading "Outlaws of the Marsh" (a.k.a "The Water Margin" and "All Men Are Borthers"), which is just as long, but (so far, knock on wood) much less confusing.
  2. You lucky, lucky thng...any chance you could do an audio rip of it for us...?
  3. The only ones I've ever seen are for 10.3 or above...I'm 10.2.8.
  4. No, if I play H264 stuff, I get audio but no video. And WMP only plays WMVs...anything else and I get the dreaded "FILE FORMAT IS INVALID" error.
  5. Why? You DARE question why??? Because the Hory Froating Head decreed it. And it was so. And festivals were had. And Yoshinol was drunk. And verily, all the Super Dimensions were made glad, because the loli Meltran was fated to become an instant fan favorite, like unto Ayanami Rei and Nadia.
  6. Well, the amazon.co.jp page for the MF Blu-Ray discs say nothing about English subs, so I wouldn't hold my breath...
  7. Mac G4, 10.2.8. I use VLC 0.8.1, because anything newer makes the picture turn purple and green. I don't want to update the computer, because it can't play DVDs, so i'd rather get a new one...but it'll be a while before I have the spare cash for a Macbook. Is my tale of woe enough to melt your hardened, DivX-dismissing heart...?
  8. I had a hunch that turned out to be right??? SWEET! I'm gonna go to VEGAS!
  9. Eej, Shouta...may I make another plea for a DivX version...?
  10. Oh, it's in HD...it just doesn't look all that great on HD.
  11. I've seen a DivX MKV version (not hardsubbed, obviously), but it's of the "Explanation of Evangelion" version, where everything (and I mean EVERYTHING) is labelled. "FOURTH ANGEL" "SHINJI IKARI" "MISATO'S CAR" "NERV ELEVATOR" "REI AYANAMI" "REI AYANAMI'S WATER GLASS" It's annoying as all git out...
  12. Yeah...and monkeys might fly out my butt! (Seriously, they might! I'd rather have that happen than see MF get "adapted" by Harmony Gold...)
  13. No, SDFM is not Kawamori's baby...the story was collaborative. Certainly, as director, Noburo ishiguro should get the lion's share of the credit. Still, my instinct tells me that Ishiguro, the respected veteran, was really present more to keep the young turks in line and make sure they actually got the episodes done, than to do any real directing. I have no proof for that, however....and listening to Ishiguro's "guest appearance" on the Miss D.J. album, I'm not so sure anymore...
  14. Well...I can't speak for anyone else, but I got it from the "Zomeo and Zoliet" radio broadcast that runs in the background during MD7. In episode 4, while (IIRC) Gamlin is getting ready to leave, Zomeo says that he will stay with Zoliet instead of going back to (I believe) Macross 11 (where he's from). Zoliet (who is Zolan) replies that she loves him, but it would be impossible for them to have children...since he's not a marisupial. In the Central Anime fansub, they translate all of that. "The Beauty of Thoroughness!"
  15. I guess if we see her belly, then we'll know for sure if she's Zolan or not. But she's also lacking the snake that all of them seem to have around their necks...although I can't remember if Graham had one... She definitely has a lot of Meltran pride, though...so I think she's either, as you suggest, a 1st Gen who became (somewhat) cultured, or perhaps the product of a Zentran/Meltran marriage (it seems ludicrous to me to imagine that ALL Zentradi marriages were with Earth people). At any rate, I think she's pure-blooded Zentradi...at least, she acts like she is.
  16. Well clearly, there's only one solution: neither of us can post if we see the other viewing the topic.
  17. "I teleported home one night With Ron and Sid and Meg. Ron stole Meggie's heart away, And I got Sidney's leg." (Yeah, I know...a fold's different, but I couldn't resist. I would imagine that it's something like Cowboy Bebop episode 4, where the missiles don't make it out of the gate before it closes. You can still see them, but they'll never interact with this universe again.)
  18. *sigh* Now it's MY turn to complain that nobody reads anymore...
  19. Agreed...there really isn't enough information yet to make any firm speculations. Until proven otherwise, though, I will continue to believe that Leon squashed Ranka's Miss Macross win (really, I just want to dislike him...mostly because of his foo-foo haircut), and that at least SOMETHING about Ranka (but not Sheryl!) is drawing the Vajra (could be singing, could be her emotions, could be any number of things, really)...and that NUNS probably has an idea what that thing is. But I'm not heavily attached to any of these theories; so if they turn out to be wrong, that's fine.
  20. No, it's impossible. Ranka was born in 2043, when Mylene was 12...and hadn't met Basara.
  21. Well, it's still listed among their ongoing projects...
  22. LEON MISHIMA: MACROSS 25'S TEH ÜBER-PIMP!!! It's the haircut...drives women wild... Okay, what do we know and what can we guess? 1. It certainly LOOKED like Leon changed the minds of at least two judges who were going to vote for Ranka. 2. It also looks like the Vajra are drawn to Ranka. 3. We know that SMS knows more about the Vajra than they're letting on. 4. If SMS knows about them, it seems reasonable to assume that NUNS knows about them, too. Lots of assumptions, yes...but I think reasonable ones. Still, I'm willing to WAFO. We'll see.
  23. I'm still undecided as well...but I think Nanase's definitely the cutest.
