  1. You should see Welcome to the NHK, but it's certainly not as lighthearted as the series you listed. The guy in that is an EXTREME Otaku...I'm talking never-leave-the-house-because-the-outside-world-is-scary Otaku...
  2. Here ya go. Check out Duke Togo's post: http://macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?show...20&start=20
  3. Because that would have to be the VF-13.
  4. and the answer is: when you're looking at Sheryl's panties, WHO CARES???
  5. I have a certain amount of respect for Carl Macek, a cordial dislike of Robotech, a modicum of pity mixed with disdain for hardcore Robotech fanboys, and a loathing bordering on revulsion for Harmony Gold. So, yeah..."not a fan" would cover it.
  6. QFT How many die hard Southern Cross fans are there in the world...? I bet even the show's creators aren't all that fond of it...
  7. You'd think so, wouldn't you? But you'd be WRONG, Professor! Dead wrong! Because adding subtitles to the Blu-Ray discs would make sense...and "making sense" is something Bandai's not about to do.
  8. That...makes perfect sense. Thanks.
  9. Still not touching that one. Yes, let's. Correct. Haven't seen it, but judging from what everyone else said, the footage is fuller, but still not completely uncut. These are both the Animeigo version (no English dub), which came out in four distinct versions: 1) The early-bird pre-order box (All nine DVDs together in a box) 2) Mini Boxes (Three box sets of three DVDs each) 3) Individual DVDs 4) Robotech.com Box Set (all nine DVDs magically back together again) The ADV version. Same visual remaster, different audio. And Volumes 2~7 have indeed been released, finishing the series. I don't need any of that...just promise to learn to how to write Mari Iijima's name. Blame it on Robotech...that's what muddles all of it up.
  10. What's the point...? C'mon, where else can you find Roy calling Hikaru a "Pudknocker"?
  11. DUET VERSION??? Must be a fan creation...I'd like to hear it though, definitely.
  12. Y'know...the difference between Japanese and American packaging is stunning...it's been more than twenty years since I saw the Japanese hoverbike model, but I'm sure the box had a nicely painted picture and said something like "SCMXHB 111-54-9C BIKE-HOVERAN" or something absurdly technical like that...whereas the American one just says, "DANA'S HOVERCYCLE"...clear and simple for stupid, lazy little children.
  13. From the Central Anime forums, it certainy appears that they haven't done them yet, although one member said that there was a timed script for Golden Wings floating about somewhere... And, according to wikipedia (*shudder*), it's a 90-minute movie...so I don't think it was part of either of the Gaiden series. I'm currently downloading the Gaiden episodes that CA has finished, but there don't seem to be as many seeders OR leechers as there were for the main series, so it's taking a while...
  14. Nope, Tetsuro Amino did both the series and D7 (And the M7 movie as well). I'm wondering if perhaps the difference isn't the writer? On the one hand, Tomita was one of the original SDF M writers. On the other hand, he also wrote Macross II...I don't know if he worked on the M7 TV series, though. If he did...well, there goes that theory...
  15. So does anyone have specs for Klan's Q-Rea...?
  16. Well, technically, they're crystals, not stones. I'm still a little unsure about the Super Dimension Crystals, but I'm slowly coming around to thinking it could work...
  17. Then watch the old Galactica...no depression or dread, just pure and utter lameness. I really DO want to see what the pre-orders are like for Frontier Vol. 1...I think including the "Yakk Deculture Edition" is a wise choice on Big West's part, and should help boost the sales.
  18. I haven't forsaken Gubaba...I AM Gubaba! It says so right in my sig. See?
  19. That's how the Area 88 manga was for me...I started reading it in English in 1987...and finished reading it in Japanese in 2002. There was a certain amount of satisfaction mingled with anguish at turning that last page... I finished downloading the LoGH series a week or so ago, but I haven't started watching it yet. Can anyone tell me if Golden Wings and Prelude to a New War are important to watch in sequence? And why hasn't Central Anime done them yet...?
  20. I also remember the incredibly long wait between episodes 3 and 4 (not quite as frustrating as the wait between Evangelion Genesis 0:10 and 0:11, but close). I never heard that the masters were destroyed, but I did hear that Manga, for whatever reason, couldn't get their hands on them, and as such, had to build everything from scratch (I got the subbed version, so I didn't know about any of this at the time). I also heard the BV fixed all of this for the recent DVD Remaster, but I haven't seen it, so I wouldn't know.
  21. I can see that...they'll keep fitting each series inside other series like a Russian doll until only Macross 7 remains canonical... BOMBAA!!!
  22. Yeah, but Bt'X was mid-to-late '90s...fifbeat saw these toys in 1986.
  23. Oh, it's good until I track down copies...so if you get 'em first, pease let me know.
  24. I think the DVD sales will be more important than the ratings, anyway. And once the DVDs start coming out, all the Johji-Come-Latelys might start watching the broadcast...
