Good points. I still love, for example, "The Basketball Diaries," and the fact that the movie was almost the Platonic Ideal of a terible movie matters not a whit, since nobody remembers it beyond a few Leonardo DiCaprio fangirls... But I think my objection to the Robotech movie is simpler than that. It's harmony Gold. They way they're run nowadays, Macross is actively blocked from reaching other shores (legally, at any rate...) in favor of Robotech. Thus, anything that allows HG to profit from Robotech is just forestalling the day when I can go out and buy a nice, well-subbed, R1 Blu-Ray Macross Zero set. Thus, I do not want HG to profit. Plus, I'm more than a little worried that maybe we're all wrong, and HG (and WB) CAN, or at least WILL make a Macross-based movie, and Big West will do nothing to stop them. Thus, HG's legal standing will be justified, and all the Robotech fans will laugh at us, like so: "SEE WE TOLD YOU, HRAMNOY GOLD OWN "ALL" OF MACROSS! ROBOTECH FORVEER! HEHEHE" And I really don't think any of us want to see that happen...

Macross pilots have ALWAYS had a grudge against buildings...it's all right there in "Booby Trap." And Hikaru even took out some poor schmuck who just happened to be standing NEAR a building! That's a hard-core vendetta, man!

Japanese has no plurals (or at least, not very often), so either would be fine. "Carrots Love You Yeah!" fits the song better, but since the song is entitled "ニンジーン Loves you yeah!", that involves changing the English part of the title. And I'm guessing Shinsen added the "this" because simply "Carrot Loves you yeah!" (which would be the most accurate rendering of the title) sounds a little dumb.

Remove the "the," and your last sentence would be correct. What was I expecting from Transformers? I was expecting a story about giant robots beating the ever-lovin' crap out of each other, not a story about a schlub and some girl who has nothing to recommend her beyond her (admittedly stunning) midriff. I didn't expect that the "big revelation" involving said hot-but-vapid character would be that she spent time in juvvie (OOOH...that's a big one, considering how important her moral high-standing was to the guy!). I didn't expect a way-too-long "comedic" scene involving destorying a garden, or robot piss jokes. I didn't expect a lot of lazy ethnic stereotypes. I didn't expect the Decepticons to be so weak that some guy with a grenade launcher could off one. I didn't expect the characters to be so dumb that, when they KNOW the enemy is going to try to get the Cube, to move it into downtown L.A. in the early afternoon. And I didn't expect that when the robots FINALLY start kicking the stuffing out of each other, that the edits would be so fast that I couldn't tell what was going on, or who was thumping whom. So yes. "Stunk worse that partially digested anchovy flesh" is actually rather mild, considering how cheated I felt after I saw the movie. if you thought it was a good movie, I'm dying to hear what you think is a bad movie...
