Okay...I'm planning a fuller translation of this, but some quick bits to start with. I managed to pick up a brand-spanking-new copy of the drama album, Macross 7 Docking Festival. It was new, but it had been sitting around for a long, long time, since it still has a little leaflet for how to get the "fire Bomber Galaxy Network Vol. 0" promo CD, which was an offer that I think expired in 1995. Anyway, upon opening it, I discovered that it had a little mini-encyclopedia for Macross 7, including a rather large section on each of the original Bridge Bunnies (who show up on the album). So as I said, I'm going to make a fuller translation of this, but for now, a little teaser... In 2045: a) Nyan Nyan is a chain restaurant all over earth and on many of the colony fleets, and the manager is Minmay's little cousin Yotchan. b) Kim has a dog, and a one-person condo on Eden. c) Vanessa worked as a hostess for a while, and ended up being the "Mama-san" at a club. She lives with her husband and three children in Macross City. (It doesn't say anything about it, but I guess they must have been among those hypnotized by Sharon Apple...that's kind of sad, isn't it?) d) And Shammy has eleven kids and lives on the moon.

And since there are (I believe) six Pin Point Barriers on the Frontier, it's double the decibels in 2059!

Well...he was in 2045...who knows about now. Another Macross 7 Docking Festival Fun Fact: Shammy has 11 kids and lives on the Moon.

I'm surprised, too...she's not pivotal, she's not even very important (yet, at least)...seems like she should be below the haters' radar. It's like hating one of Minmay's giggly friends, or Hikaru's nurse, or one of the Pin Point Barrier Girls... So, all ye who hate Nanase...what has she ever done to YOU, besides strive to entertain you with purple hair, cute glasses, and jiggly goodness?

In the Big West Planning Office: "Okay, guys, I got it from the Hory Froating Head himself...some doofus on some English fan board said it would be funny if we all quit, and the Froating One agreed! So that's a wrap, start packing up. I want you out of here by noon at the latest..." By the way...it IS the SDF-1 Macross.

Wouldn't it be funny if Frontier were cancelled tomorrow, and the staff was so upset about it they all made a pact never to speak about what would've happened in episodes 13 onward...?

HELL YEAH! Who needs Max flying around in a VF-22, acting like he's some kind of genius? And more information about the Protoculture and the Supervision Army? Pfft, who cares? The VF-17? LAAAAME! And, like, EVERY mecha show out there is done from the point of view of a rock band...why couldn't they do something original, like make it more military? You see barely any robot shows that feature the military as main characters! Sure, Macross 7 wasn't the series most of us wanted to to be, but to write it off so completely is just wrong.

I also think it's the real, original Macross...but I just want to point out that Occam's Razor doesn't really work so well with fiction, so I wish people would stop using it...

Good thinking anon (and welcome!)...I just have one problem with it. The Megaroad-01 went missing in 2016, but the Macross was still on earth in 2040. I can't imagine that they waited 24 years to launch a rescue mission. But it's funny...I think all of us want to know what happened to the Megaroad, so everyone's trying to figure out a way to tie it in here. If it had been the Megaroad on Gallia 4 instead of the Macross, instead of WTF, I think our reaction would've been A LOT different. Instead of a big WTF, we would've breathed a sigh of relief, because a long-standing dangling thread would've been tied up. But now it looks as though we're getting the answer to question we never thought to ask...

Kind of like the Wizard of Oz...?
